Kira basically means "Killer." At least that's from what I remember. Also I'm pretty sure the internet or whoever was talking about it just gave Light that label. Edit: Okay y'all, I get it. My Japanese knowledge is non-existent.
19:36 since it was the FBI agent writing their names down and he knew them, he could imagine their faces while unknowingly writing in the Death Note. Thats why Light asked him to write them down
@@joshuaanoruo973 Light didn't get their names and faces. Someone sent Ray the names and faces and thats how Ray got that information. Before retrieving the Death Note pages after Ray died, Light did not know the names and faces of the other agents.
33:35 that was Light's intention. He's vain, and he always wanted the world to KNOW that it was him, or "Kira", so he decided that Kira would always kill via heartattack
14:01 I’m sure they wouldn’t think that Kira would kill an FBI agent because at this point Kira only targeted criminals or “evil” to take out, not law enforcement or “good”. They believe they would be safe in that regard due to Kira’s moral standpoint that he’s shown to the public so far.
You also have to remember the FBI came in after L had already confirmed that Kira was in the Kanto region. Meaning that this happened after Light killed Lind L. Tailor on live TV. It would be assumed that those same agents would’ve been briefed on the situation, so they would know that Kira is willing to kill those that actively stand in his way, or protest his methods. That action essentially sullied Kira’s image in a way that would allow for the cops to be fully willing to bring him in because now they know that his morality is in question due to his god complex. Especially since they essentially had no way of knowing if Kira knew that Lind was a criminal or not, but they know that the response had to have been defensive and out of spite. Lind’s murder at Kira’s hands had to have been emotionally motivated, and was clearly meant to act as a message to not stand in Kira’s way. Otherwise, had Light stuck to the strict rule of “only kill criminals”, then he would’ve likely killed Lind L. Tailor at a later date after cross checking his identity, if he even had the idea to do so.
Since Ray wrote down the names instead of L, the face thing wasn’t an issue. Ray writing down the people’s names caused him to have their faces in his mind as he was writing them (since he knows them all), therefore it fulfilled the name and face requirement.
16:20 If I remember correctly, it explains that the Death Note won’t kill anyone with collateral damage. The only people who will die are the ones whose names are written in it. So for instance, writting “Bob will shoot Jane and John” would result in all three dying, but writing “Bob will shoot the other two people hunting me” will just result in Bob dying
Actually, it is possible that people will die as collateral damage, Light found a way in the first Live Action Death Note that came out in the mid-2000's. But for that to happen you would have to create the perfect scenario that would leave no other options
to explain what happened at 19:29 anybody can use the death note since the guy who wrote the names also know what the other FBI agent looks like their death will be registered 40 seconds later.
There are a lot of details about what the Death Note is and isn't able to do that are left our of CJ's video. You can dictate a persons actions but you can't make them do impossible things. He's also making some of these deaths sound more simplistic than they actually were, you're going to have to watch to see how Light plays 4D chess with some of his victims.
15:50 That’s kinda true, but the death has to be possible. He can’t do something like making a guy in a prison cell in New York die in front of the Eiffel Tower in two minutes. 33:40 Heart attacks are basically the default death for the Death Note. At first Light didn’t specify the deaths probably more out of convenience. Now that he has a god complex, he *wants* people to know that Kira can kill anyone anywhere at anytime. So yeah, he’s an idiot.
The part you were confused by, you're prolly gonna forget it anyway, but no one actually knew who Kira was. L suspected it, no one believed him, but he himself was actually not 100% sure either. Light was working with the police trying to catch Kira, so himself. That's kinda how he kept getting away with it (besides being the biggest manipulator I've seen in fiction) cuz he always knew what they were doing. This show honestly makes you use your brain, cuz both Light and L are insanely smart, and has you on the verge of your seat.
19:36 basically, Light wrote the cause of deaths before the names, so Raye put the name of the FBI chief, and the chief sent the faces and names of every person in the operation to Raye. Raye proceeded to write every name and then die.
19:38 is because that agent was thinking about them so he technically already seen the other agents faces and since the people that hold even a piece of paper from the death note they can still use the power, maaaan this has a lot of sense it blew my brain
I haven't watched Dexter in a while but from what I remember, his motivations weren't ego-driven. There were a few times he got people who weren't on his dad's list killed, but it felt like he was more afraid of being exposed more than someone "getting in the way of a God"
13:55 In the show, Light plays the FBI agent by suggesting he could be an accomplice to the guy robbing the bus. In order to get out of the robbery situation and gain Light's trust (or at least get rid of suspicion), he showed his ID. Highly suggest reading the manga and watching the show. 5D chess on all sides from start to finish.
the thing with kira is that he is prideful. he wanted for people to know of his existence, to send a message to the world. that he would be executing his "justice" unto all criminals. so sticking to heart attacks was done in purpose.
19:35 penber probably had the peoples names when he wrote them down, cuz he wrote the names on death notes sheets unknowingly. n likely light just filled in the rest after he got it back from penber
Scru went through a whole death note journey in this vid First kill had him like “I ain’t mad at that” He was like “dawg you twerking on a ninja grave”
Death Note is a high-stakes anime on the model of Columbo. The audience who's whodunit the whole time so the fun is watching the investigator figure it out. This whole show is a cat and mouse battle of wits between Light and L and then how Light reaches beyond his grasp.
This still in my top 5 anime all time. The level of creativity with the writing and the level of chess being played the whole time was mind blowing. It can get a little silly or over the top at times but overall it is some great writing imo. I think it shows how great the writing is to see Scru get so into this vid and make him invested enough to go watch. And that's with CJ not even really explaining everything lol Scru we gonna need a review of the show from you when you get done watching it
15:42 I think there’s a rule where you can’t be made to kill someone else but other than that you can fully control the actions of a person and they’re death
I respect tour decision, just glad to see you pumped up this much about an anime. Great show, great break down by cj and great reaction by you. Had me laughing and and reacting too!
I watched like half of the video of CJ and still watched Death Note afterwards and still wasn't really as spoiled since there is so much more to Death Note that happens behind the scenes that will blow your mind so you can still give it a watch it's an AMAZING anime.
14:10 at this time, Raye was comvinced that Light was innocent. Not only that, but Light said he had a plan to the girl, so Raye decided to step in, and Light asked Raye to prove he's a FBI Agent, because he could be partnering with the criminal. 🧠
Rae was writing the names of the FBI agents on the death note, meaning that when he wrote their names, they would die, because he knows the agents faces, and he made Ray sit in the train for 40 minutes, because from what I remember (cause it’s been a long time) he wanted them to all die at the same time so there was no suspicion
COmment to support, one of the only anime I truly love and enjoy lmao - excited to see some Scru recaps, maybe some periodic reviews like you did with the Naruto series?
Yooo think you so much for not watching the last part and you’re going to thank yourself too for not completely spoiling it 🙌🏾 enjoy the series bro . Are you going to post you and your wife’s reaction to it ?? That would be awesome !
24:50 actually, she didnt believe Light at first, and said she still wanted to check the QG anyways, but she used her emotional weakness to make her reveal her name. It was much more complicated than it looked like in the video, watch the anime!
Mad respect for not wanting to spoil the ending for yourself! Fire reaction! Its a great show, hope you and the Mrs. enjoy it! Also, the name Kira means "Glittery or Shiny", which is a play on Lights name. But in the show its because Kira is how the Japanese pronounce the English word Killer.
death note is my second fav anime of all time and one of my fav shows of all time its peak and cj didnt show/explain everything so u arent completely spoiled dw. and i respect u not watching the ending cause the ending is iconic
If you end up seeing my post he didn't need the faces of those fbi agents. He had the dude that was watching him write them down in the death note. So the fbi agent offed all the other agents then Kira offed him
You got me thinking, how would it work in the UK? We don't have to actually go through a process to change our name, though those processes do exist. We can just decide our name is changed and that's it. So could I rotate my name every 30 seconds and be shinigami-proof?
Bro I respect that. This is in my top 5 anime of all time because of the story telling and intrigue behind it. It has you on the edge of your seat the entire time and you respect the thought that was put into making this. I love it so much and I hate the butchering that the live action did.
Deathnote has a whole episode of him following a girl down the street to a bus stop and it's the most intense episode of almost anything I've ever watched, I don't think I've been on the edge of my seat as much as this show.
I love that you didn't watch the ending and wanna check out the whole show. The question is: Can we see those reactions?! I'm already subscribed to other reaction channels. I'd watch you do anime reactions. Plus your wife going in completely blind? Hell yeah. It would have everything
Heart attack is the default way the deathnote kills people. It would take Light a lot longer to write names if he had to describe their death every time.
15:40 There is a slight limitation to it. Since the Death Note makes everything look natural, you can't create a scenario that's impossible for the victim to follow. To use a very simple example, let's say the victim is on a boat at least 6 minutes and 40 seconds away from shore (cause that's the time frame the victim has to make it back) but you write in the Death Note that the victim is supposed to jump from a skyscraper, they will just die from a heart attack, because it's physically impossible for the victim to get there in time and jump
You should react to The Kevin Bennett's Shy Guy Rap "Who I Am" Ft. Zach B, it's so much more than just another nerdcore track, it's a general song about being an introvert.
To be fair, if people are watching you like detectives were over Light, he only has time to write a name down quickly, not enough to write a reason. Sure, he messed up in the beginning with the 50 heart attacks, but later on he doesn’t have time to write reasons since he’s in public more.
