Today I discuss Death Note and Light's biggest slip-up throughout the show. For a God amongst men, Light was merely mortal and made one crucial error that set him up for failure in the end.

Nice video, it was definitely one of his biggest mistakes. However, i still think that killing Lind L. Taylor during that tv broadcast set up by L was Light's ultimate failure. He just lost in the second episode

So true. Light had success against L but that suspicion over him never left the series. The moment ray was killed all attention was focused on Light

Yup, I always thought it was the stupidest thing to kill Ray Pember, it pretty much made it obvious that he was Kira, and with his intelligence I’m surprised he overlooked it

Wait, he killed all FBI agents, not just Ray. Mistake was whole bus operation. Ray told his wife about it, so when Light killed her L had suspicious.

Great video! I’d argue that killing Raye wasn’t necessarily a mistake however. I do agree that it does start the chain reaction that leads to his downfall, however it is more of just an unfortunate tragedy for both of them. Light killing Raye was an incredibly smart move theoretically, as he doesn’t know for how long he’s going to be trailed, and the longer he is being followed, the more likely he is to be caught. It was just an unfortunate coincidence that Raye was going to be done following him that day. For all Light knows, he is going to be followed for a year. Based on the information he had, killing Raye was a smart move, it’s just in reality he shouldn’t have.

Ngl, I doubt Ryuzaki would've moved on. Yeah, killing Ray fueled it all, but it wouldn't be as easy as him being out of the suspicion zone if he didn't do the deed. Light pulls a 360 in confinement and Ryuzaki still isn't convinced, so I doubt this would be enough. He'd at least eventually have light up as a suspect again. Albeit, it'd be a lot more interesting since the only bit of "evidence" Ryuzaki can work with would all be abstract. Neat speculation in hindsight, regardless

Ray Penber is the basic protagonist whose murder fuels entire chase.

Very true if light wanted to not get caught he shouldn’t have killed ray the same can be said for killing Lind L Taylor since that proved Kira was a person. Personally I think light wanted to draw suspicion to himself since when him and L did the tennis match the monologue said L will have to take him to task force HQ. I think lights idea was to kill L to prove not even the smartest man in the world can defeat Kira which ultimately was lights downfall

Oh yeah, man, lights Hubris was such a big flaw of his. Even challenging near at the end Even though near says point blank that he's expecting light to do that, and he just couldn't resist because he had so much hubris and pride.

Light believed that the only way to truly become god of the new world was to eliminate L by getting close to him. So he purposely put enough suspicion on himself so that L would be forced to make a move and reveal himself in the process. An example of this was killing criminals whose names weren't broadcasted, telling L that he had access to police records. But I agree that it was a big mistake to ever create all of this evidence pointing to him. Light was egotistical and would make these big, risky plays, which was entertaining but his inevitable downfall.

Light's success in 6 years has similarities with Tribulation that is supposed to last for 7 years, the first half of the years is about Light running the world with an iron fist like the anti-christ, with L (El Shaddai) being killed off but is technically reborn as Near, like as if he's suppossed to represent Jesus coming back but with white hair, Revelation 1:14, it kind of reminds me of Gandalf from LOTR and Antauri from SRMTHFG, where they kind die midway through the story, and come with more white outlines of themselves, I guess being born with dark features and reborn with white features has some meaning to it, rebirth with purity.

@@balderbrok6438 The six years are the work of God, and the seventh day he rested. September 2003 to January 2010, the six year work of God, the seventh year, he is no longer working.

That's like the most heartbreaking scene man, Like his father dies in his heart, knowing that his son is innocent without knowing the full truth. But maybe that's a good thing on your deathbed, right?

Great video bro. You should do a video on Beyond Birthday he is one of the most interesting characters in death note. The whole LA BB case is very entertaining.

Killing Lind L and Ray gave L, location and narrow suspects, later one we get a second Kira that doesn't mess around and Near says there is no point in chasing a Kira that doesn't play around.

I still think killing lind L tailor and giving both the hint that he needs a name and face and that hes in kanto is the biggest mistake. If he didnt kill him L continues to broadcast lind L taylor across the world til he dies.
@geassgamer95
@geassgamer95 2 дня назад
Honestly, that's a fair take man. I like the different discourse here! The only reason I don't go with that as the biggest mistake is because when he kills Lind That's a big clue, but it's still leaves you with millions of suspects.
