Install a Lightbulb WiFi Smart Camera. On a Android phone. Using the Google Play Store app and view on you computer screen if website is working. Developed by madecool.com
It's been said,, after using the Lightbulb Camera APP in time they will Shut OFF the APP unless you make monthly payments to use the APP. I hear it is very expensive to continue to use the APP!
You don't need to subscribe to the cloud all you have to do is go into settings, then click ( SD card recording ) and set it to 24/7 or all time recording in both ( Recording way ) and (Recording Schedule ) and your all set. NOTE: you will continue to see the prompts wanting you to subscribe just close or disregard it. If you ever get to were you can't connect to your WIFI you have to reset the camera.
Think I'm sending this back. Looking at the comments, almost everyone is having trouble getting the code to scan - exactly my problem. Pretty neat idea, wish they had worked!
@@japribble where do you type it in at? it looks like when you scan there should be a red light i dont see no light and dont understand how to get the code to scan
@@melyndazeek7407dude read side of bulb it may be a different app you have to install. All of these don't use same app the app required is on label 1st line
Hi. I got two of these cameras working quickly on my iPhone, but I'm having a devil of a time getting them to appear on the YI desktop app. I'm on a Mac, DL'd the software on their website, installed AOK, logged onto my account, but no cam transmission. This is the apps message: You do not have any camera paired to this account. pair a YI home/Dome camera on your mobile app first." But I must be paired to both cameras, otherwise I would not see them on my iPhone, but I do see them. Perfectly. Any ideas what's going on? Thank you!
Summary about my experience of a few days. I'll give it one more go when I have the patience but it seems the device has gone off line and I can't get it back. I think it will still record to the SD card but it makes a very loud beep beep sound every few seconds which means it couldn't realistically be used at all. I'm going to buy a Trail Camera (battery powered) next and see how that goes.
If it seems to good to be true, it usually is. This is a prime example. They don’t tell you how much you have to PAY after one week. You have been warned.
@Cathy Simon I also can't get mine to connect. I connect to my 2.4 wifi and then I connect to the camera, but it fails every time and now that camera code is not even in my available networks to connect to anymore. I'm not happy about this item being a POS at this point
I am not sure how this works with any other type of dusk to dawn flood lights. If you are talking about the lights built in the camera when only it is connected, then the lights come on at nighttime when motion is near for a few seconds. Not sure if they come on during the daytime there would be no reason and have not noticed it.
I have the same issue. This lightbulb cam should have Auto, Night, Day setting. If you're recording day into night, in this case, you'd set to Auto. If you already have motion lights installed outside, set this cam in an area not near your house flood light because it will confuse the lightbulb cam UNLESS you turn off your house flood light and rely on the lightbulb cam alone and then you'd set it to Auto to operate both day & night. If you still want your floodlight going, I think at that point you have to choose one or the other, not both
I bought two of these. Unfortunately both don't work. There is no sound and I cannot operate the cameras at all. I think the firmware that is on it is scrap. The hardware seems to be the same everywhere. If you could put other firmware on it, e.g. from Tuya or LSC, it could work. Does anyone have experience with this?
fyi for those having trouble connecting it to your 5gHz wifi-- bought this same exact bulb camera and a Conico security/baby cam and read the fineprint of this bulb cam and as I learned with the baby cam, the last instruction page announces its designed to work with 2.4 ghz wifi NOT 5 gHz. WTH owns a 2.4 gHz wifi anymore?
I just purchased mine. (Didn’t know at the time of purchase) An iCloud subscription does come with this bulb. From watching another RU-vid video, a subscription is not necessarily needed. Although it’s a different brand, You can use a memory key in this bulb too!
I just got one today. After reading the reviews of the APP, discovered that you get a limited time cloud thing. AFTER your free time ends, you must pay every month or it won’t work. I didn’t even bother. RETURNED.
Will I be able to use this (record/playback) with only a micro sd card and not cloud service? Like many others, I don't want to purchase this and then end up paying a subscription to use after a few weeks.
Yes (I'm in your position) but I've noticed that if your camera isn't connected by Wifi to the Internet it beeps every few seconds and beeps loudly. Whether this is intentional by the App owner to make sure you're connected to it...?
Question: Was that the app that was recommended in the instructions? Mine looks just like yours but they recommended another app. Can you use any app for a camera, or do you have to use the one recommended in the box?
Ok, here is my question. Let's say we hook up the camera and everything is working. If at 2am in the morning and an intruder approaches my front door and I am not home, will the camera alert me. I know the camera lights will come on and the camera gives out a sound alert but will It give me an alert on my cellphone?
yes if you have it set up in the app I have mine on silent because we have another form of home security we just wanted some extra coverage and we have a ton of deer that set it off
Only Tuya Camera have this feature, they can set the light on from sundown to sunset, the other brand of Camera doesn't have this Feature at all. :)ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-k5XI8JjHKE4.html
thanks for the instructions...I purchased these but didn't realize that there was no light bulb with the camera. These are all described incorrectly as they are typically described as light bulb security camera but there is a camera but no light. Dilemma - the only place for these outside is a socket where I also need to have a light so can't use.
@@paulrodney932 Great! I never trust reviews where they were sponsored by the manufacturer providing a free unit to the person making the video endorsement. I got taken in by one of these RU-vid endorsements for the Ego battery powered snowblower. I spent 600 dollars on a unit that turned out being much less that was purported by the endorser who got a freebie from the company and probably hoping for more. The unit was underpowered and battery life was way less than stated by the tester.
Okay 3 major problems with this. 1.) It's a lightbulb, what's stopping a thief from just walking up and unscrewing the camera and stealing that too along with your stuff? You'll have a recording of the thief stealing the camera you say? Only if you pay for 2.) the quite expensive cloud subscription service which you get for 1 week free. 3.) If you have the subscription it has right in their terms that they are allowed to keep your recorded data. So, If you don't pay for the cloud service you can store data locally on the SD card, but guess what? If a thief steals the whole camera (which as I said above is beyond simple) then bye bye SD card recordings too. Totally unusable product for it's intended uses.
Yes, I saw another video ( probably the same one you did) where his cam stopped working and only then did he realize that he had to buy a subscription.☹️
The camera will always work, the subscribe part is about storage. DO you want to keep a weeks worth of footage or do you want up to a month's worth kept stored? That's what you pay for, not the video. If you have SD card you can store on there as much space as you have on it
On the scan to setup the pairing, you never heard the words to tell you it paired. Then you jumped to putting a box in from of the camera?? What was that about? I have the same camera with good wifi and blutooth, yet I can not get the connection and never hear the phase saying the connection is made. Of your intire video, that is what I wanted to see you do and you talked about a box???
Hey Paul..trying to load, I have to install an SD card in it for it to think first but then registering, I type the code, try to send it out to my email 5x and nada. Did you have any problems with it sending a code or whatever to your email during setup?🙃🙃
Set up the camera ok But subscriptions for the cloud are auto renewal and neither Pay Pal, my bank card, or credit card won't do auto renewal! How do I pay for it? Info will be appreciated!
Hi does anybody know if I could use my light bulb camera with another app and not the dedicated app which it came with? It is not working with that, cannot connect. called HD IoT app.
Good luck with sending it back! I have been trying for weeks and just get the run around. Can't install their free app without complete credit card info for verification, will not do that. Thinking this company called SMART BULB is a rip off company, buyer beware!!!!!!!!!!!
If you don't do the pro cloud promo, it will not go through to connect the camera. The is good only for a 1 year usage after that, it will not connect to your wifi , cause you had to force subscribe.
My minimal use would be JUST TO USE the sd card ... but I cannot figure out how to even do this one VERY SIMPLE use of this camera ... I never wanted this for WiFi, but only to connect to my cell phone ONLY ... I'm not stupid, but this is driving me toward stupid ...
The camera has a Flash. That you can turn on. I was messing with my neighbors that was messing with my Car I turned it on they went running. It also has an alarm system. I turned it on the neighbors came into my yard and They went running pop pop pop pop. It was very loud I heard it inside my house. No one could come on to My property you set the alarm. Nobody can steal the camera the alarm will go off.
Your videos 3 months old. I just received this and the application that day QR code in the instructions connected me to looks nothing like the application you've installed.
Based on our testing result , the Quality Comparationof Security Camera , Tuya is the best, and then V380 Camera, the worst quality one is Yi iot Camera
I have this exact camera, and the app you downloaded isnt the app that my instructions are twlling me to install and the app its telling to install doesnt work with the camera. Im super disappointed
