Lightning Collection Power Morpher Review [Mighty Morphin Power Rangers]

To be fair, this toy of the Power Morpher is not too bad. Granted, it's not as good as what Bandai did with their Legacy line, but I admire what Hasbro did.

Mine does the same thing with the Triceratops coin it's very annoying

I love this. I love it so much. Legacy is reeplica die cast but this one is the ultimate experience

I have both morphers. The hasbro version is worth purchasing especially if you want to cosplay. The legacy version was an issue with cosplayers because of how heavy it was. Also, it's a nice product to display and it's more show accurate.

Something that be cool in the future is if they released like a special version of the Coins that have the stone canyon trio instead

Really enjoy this video. I picked this up at Walmart myself. I wonder if hasbro will come out with the dragonzord/tigerzord coins and ninjette coins? I never picked up the legacy line stuff. I think buying toys for my son was a priority over the years rather than getting it for myself. Luckily I decided to cosplay as wwe wrestler the fiend bray Wyatt. So the legacy line toy money went to that lol. The base is really nice especially so you can display it with the coins around it. The gold coins remind me of the OG morpher from the 90s (son has that one).

I'm so sad I can't find these anywhere now unless I'm willing to pay $300+ or settle for the pink version from gamestop. Power Rangers were a big part of my childhood growing up and I started collecting figures to display recently.

1. The Legacy Collection Power Morpher actually *IS* a bit smaller than the Lightning Collection one. 2. The button on the Legacy is black...that is completely inaccurate. 3. The sound timing for Lightning is kinda accurate; if you watch the show, you'll get how they implemented it. The lightning bolt drops into the middle of the logo (which is probably supposed to represent the Morpher opening), THEN you get the sequence. 4. The holster is wrong for BOTH versions. They're the wrong shape and too wide; the original holster for the original 1992 Dynobuckler is narrower. Also, for both, one side sits flush, the other doesn't. You pointed it out, too - Lightning sits flush with the coin side out (which is accurate to the very first episode of MMPR when Zordon first gave them their Morphers...something that's even seen in the season 1 opening), whereas Legacy sits flush with the back out (which is accurate to Kyouryuu Sentai Zyuuranger...especially since Bandai Japan retooled Legacy into their Super Sentai Artisan Dynobuckler). 5. While I already have the Green Ranger/White Ranger version of the Legacy one, I may be tempted to bite on the Lightning one if they do a box set containing the Dragon, Tiger, AND Falcon Power Coins...representations for all three seasons in the box!! Side Note: I didn't get the original Legacy with the main five coins, though I did find one at GameStop for my wife, who's a huge Pink Ranger fan.

I think instead of the voice clips of the rangers maybe they could've used the animal sounds instead. So you can say the animal name with the time lag and then the animal sound come in

Is there a way or some to let Hasbro know that we most fans want a green/white version, too? It would be perfect if we can have orginal 5 rangers version and Tommy version both 🥺🥺🥺

Did you try holding down the morph button for about 10 secs? see if there was another kind of....effect?

For my opinion: While the Lightning Collection does make up a bit of the coin issues and the slight color improvements than the Legacy, the sound it plays is...not as great as I would expect, as you said. I would expect it to have two sound modes: a Morph Mode, which only plays the morphing with/without the theme song like the Legacy version, and a Voice Act mode that has the voice actors saying, "It's Morphing Time! (Dino Power Name)" and then plays the morphed sound. That's what I would expect at best. Another area for improvement is how thick and bulky it looks compared to the Legacy version. It would feel slightly heavy and does not look great when it is bulky. Lightning Collection is excellent overall, but Legacy is still my favorite cause; like you, I would rather say the morphing phrase and have the Morpher play the morphing sound rather than have the voice actors say it.

When some new company aquire power ranger they always came out with there own mmpr toys Hasbro made the used as a proper screen accurate on the season one

If your doing role play don’t use this morphers because your fans want to hear your voice and if you lip sink it won’t be belivable

I’ll just stick with my 1993 and Legacy Morphers. Hasbro’s morpher isn’t worth spending $50.00 on as it’s basically a kid’s toy with many screen inaccuracies compared to Bandai’s morphers: 1. Hasbro’s morpher is too bulky compared to 1993 morpher and Legacy Morpher which were both used on screen in MMPR and the Legacy Morpher used by Jason in PR Beast Morphers. 2. There are big gaps between the coin and morpher which wasn’t in the MMPR series’ morpher. 3. The inside of Hasbro’s morpher is clear plastic, of course used for the electronic effects, as it was a red color in the TV show and Bandai’s morphers. 4. The power ranger logo around Hasbro’s morpher is too thin compared to Bandai’s 1993 and Legacy versions. The only inaccuracy with Bandai’s morpher release in 1993, was that the logo said “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” upside down but it was fixable as I and many others bought screen accurate logo stickers to replace it with in the right direction making it completely screen accurate. Hasbro focuses more on the electronic features (that many purchasers have issues with) rather than the prop’s screen accuracy and high quality.

Honestly Hare’s what I think The Legacy Version is perfect for Display, but however The Lightning Collection Version is Good for one or both things a Prop for Either and or Your Power Rangers Cosplay and or your Fan Made Films, or just simply for missing with once in a while, and I kind of understand why they couldn’t I think but, it would’ve been Nice if they could some how Fit the Second MMPR Team in to this Morpher some how it would’ve been nice to somehow been able to Access the Voice Clips for Adam, Rocky, Aisha, and even Kat, but with their Ninjiti Powers instead of Dino Powers. But either than that I think this Morpher is good as is.
