That is a telescope sun filter. You can pop one of those on the front of a telescope and actually look directly at the sun with it. Its totally wild to see up close.

Laughing is kinda an immediate reaction to something stressful for a large chunk of people. And likely they didn't process the fact he almost died right away. If he fell, the laughing would have definitely stopped. I doubt the family was laughing because it was funny he almost died. It still surprises me so many people don't understand that laughing doesn't always mean you think something is funny. Ever tried to laugh to cover up the fact you want to cry? That's a good example too

I do not work for an insurance company, but my understanding is that claims get investigated. This investigation would clearly show lightning did it. Lightning is pretty distinctive. So, if they get insurance payout with a video, they should get insurance payout without a video.

If you go frame by frame on the car when its being struck you get some amazing footage of lightning, the initial shot was huge engulfing the whole car, and the following ones were huge but disappeared fast.

The reason why they're not harmed is that the current goes through the metal of the car since it's a much better conductor. It's called a "Faraday cage".

I MUST that the isolation of the cars nowadays is the reason why it can happen. My grandad died in 1971 because a lighting hit his old dodge and there was no protection of this kind.

@@alf3071 It probably just goes through the paint as well. Paint is not a good conductor but with voltage as high as in a lightning strike it will let it through. If there are parts without paint then the lightning will preferentially enter the metal of the car through those.

@@TheLostChild25 I mean it would be pretty scary, when I flew for the first time literally any wind was enough to scare the shit out of me cause the whole plane just shakes like crazy, and landing is stressful cause you basically have to fall out of the sky at the right time, doing that with bad visibility and strong winds and still landing with no damage like that is pretty good especially in an even smaller plane like that

The black car should've watched the road before taking the left and moreover, the black car wasn't even slowing down a little bit before taking that turn.
