The jedi master speaks the truth, there are tons of options out there. Take your time, and get the weapon you want and need. Custom sabers are awesome. I wish I had one when I was a kid. At least we can have them as big kids now.
Great points, and I appreciate that this isn't just a video from a producer trying to sell their brand, but is honestly trying to help buyers make good choices for themselves. It's just one of several reasons why I'm a fan of you and your work.
I just purchased my first Saber, and despite it being from YDD...the Hilt is nice. Not too heavy, not too light. The button is placed right above where my thumb is at, which is perfect.
If we are going strictly with physics, since "Light" Sabers blade is made up of light, should there be nearly zero weight on the blade itself, but balance point should be near the center point of the handle? Just to geek out a little. lol
Another great video Rob! It definitely pays to do your homework. In case anyone is interested I am the proud owner of a Badaxx. It has served me well for almost 5 years now, with DAILY use.
Another great video by one of the most helpful members in the community. All new members need to see this video before they purchase a saber from anywhere
✨Awesome video Rob all so true I really Dig my Badaxx it’s Fabulous your Cree looks Fabulous and cool Back Ground in the Beginning I Really Dig your Special Creations✨
I think that your my favorite Star Wars related RU-vidr. I’ve always appreciated your work. I wish I could afford your lightsabers the’re moving pieces of art. The advice not just on your channel but also on TCSS channel has always been invaluable. I hope you never stop making videos and happy sabering. :)
I constructed my own from The Custom Saber Shop after watching your tutorial videos. It has a Prizm 3.5 card and I have your Rogue and Hero fonts installed on it. I used a domed AV switch on a box in the center of my hilt so that even if the switch is facing the palm of my hand, all I have to do is squeeze my grip a little tighter to activate it. PS. Your Rogue sound font has the best lockup sound ever!
I could be satisfiied with literally AliExpress lightsabers: metal handle, strong, sound... BUT ONLY IF THE LIGHT COULD GO ALL ACROSS THE BLADE THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN PERFECT
First of all I would just like to say great video well-thought-out I'm not sure if you developed it or not but that smooth move sounding that you made for the sabres is amazing thank you
All I wanted was a lightsaber with a crystal chamber, blade is evenly lit, and a smooth swing sound font with and sound font. Unfortunately that too much to ask for, so I have to choose between these options.
I came into here because I thought it was going to be a satire video about things to consider before buying a real lightsaber 😂 Staying here for the vid though, I didn’t know this was a real thing
i bought 4 chinese sabers for my grand children for while they are young. Now starts the process of building 4 sabers of excellent quality for them when they get older. I was thinking proffie but i saw the crystal X i think it was and that looked pretty cool too. I always get in way over my head with projects like the carputer and gatling gun exhaust but i know what i want just not the best way to do things. the customs im definately wanting a pixel blade, smoothswing, crystal chambers, im wanting to use magnetic pogopin connectors to the switches and power and blades so the internals can be like another intricate saber inside the beauty hilt. ive been modelling 3d since 1991 so making cool machined parts is no problem. programming isnt really an issue either but i want their ease of use to be still fun and not tedious. id like to try using a themoconductive switch so when you grip it the warmth from your body turns it on and possibly a cool jewel looking clicky trackball for navigation of functions. i keep watching your vids to learn new stuff as im now into 3 months of research on the subject. keep up the good work and if ya ever need any custom modelling done hit me up. and to anyone interested i have a few Star wars 3d models free onm turbosquid www.turbosquid.com/Search/Artists/Q5Grafx
Your grandkids are very lucky and this is very cool of you to do! I remember being a kid in the mid 90's and the only sabers available were those cheap sling out sabers you got at Kmart. lmao Now there are sabers with amazing lighting effects, sound, and you can actually smack them around quite good.
I often use 30"-24" blades, so finding a good fit is hard sometimes. Length wise I've built 6"-13" and if there's a good choke, I find 11" ish to be the best of both. My first stunt was a curved PVC, and someday I want something more "real", someday, I'll get a Badaxx!
Get yourself a GCS if you want a high end saber without waiting 6 months and easy access to battery and chassis. Got my in 2.5 weeks. Hey Rob, I mean legend, still loving that Creed you built me.
Its okay advise for a purchasers that have a variety of lightsabers in person to feel & test before buying, a person who is ordering on line dose not have that option.
True. But if you live in or near a city, look up local Star Wars, fan clubs, and lightsaber duelling groups. You can attend a meeting and check out the various sabers the members have.
Its all about the realism...ya lots me...😁😆. They do look and sound extremely cool though. Which do you think has the best technology and effects on the market as of today?
Yep this video sums it all up. Over the years I've started off from different manufacturers and my only two of choice are Genesis and Vader's vault. My Vader's vault dark ardent 3.0 Tri Cree LED and the same with Darkseid Genesis ascend 3.0. Recently got my Vader's vault rival in neopixel and I must say I love neopixel now that I was so skeptical about it but there's just nothing like it. Even found me two more 3600 mAh spare batteries for it. Next one I want is neopixel Genesis ascend with plain Jane no Powder Coating but it's out of stock so it's on my bucket list.
Rob Petkau I can’t get onto the site, I clicked the link you sent me but it timed out then I tried a fresh search but still wouldn’t load I’ve tried several times now and it won’t load
Consider my options logically and make a reasonable purchase that I can live with. Or!! Heck it all and jump right into the diamond pool at ultrasabers!!!
Just curious, the CF v9 had trident capability (it had g2 (I think, it may have been more) accent channels that enabled blade quillons (IE the Kylo Rent style crossguard) is the CFX still capable of this?
Is that your old graflex from like 11 years ago? Just wondering having you ever upgraded any of your movie style sabers or have made any more movie style sabers?
Rob Petkau have you ever thought making any more movie replica sabers just to add to your personal collection? I remember from your Force Awakens review that empire strikes back is your most favorite Star Wars movie. How about a Luke ESB graflex?
where is a good place where i can purchase a lightsaber? there are a few choices out there, but i;m lost at where to start... i dont want to spend multiple hundreds of dollars, but at the same time, i want something that's durable at the same time
Hey, Thanks for checking out my work. When mine are in stock you can purchase at genesiscustomsabers.com All I can tell you is do your homework, there is lots of info and feedback out there. Join the Vault on facebook. Generally, you get what you pay for.
the only thing that I can't understand in these all lightsabers is can you actually hide the blade inside or you need to plug and unplug them everytime? Can somebody help me with this thing cause it's the most important one for me.
@@geramos109 look up plecter crystal lightsabers. It's a type of blade that has plecter LEDs in the blade so it's super bright. These go into the thousands depending on what manufacturers you look into. Try looking in vaders vault. They have some of those on there.
@@geramos109 the only time I can remember lightsabers looking like that is in the oldest movies. I. Pretty sure that might've just been the effects of the CGI.
