Great Game! I'm glad you are bringing this game to your audience, since it it a bit heavier then your usual fare. A couple rules corrections though: at ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MAthQRZO7oU.html Francis takes the food from the cutting area when she pays to switch, but food from the cutting areas are only taken when initially selected, and not when you switch during the cutting phase. This is stated in the yellow box at the bottom of page 9 in the rule book. Secondly, you don't get your planned work tokens back after you complete the planned work (Yellow box at the bottom left of page 7).
Watched the video together with my wife. So far we do not have such a "punishing" game but we are both highly interested in Lignum. Thanks a lot for this helpful play through review.
Great video - thanks! Two minor things I noticed beyond what's already been pointed out: 1) At 1:35:52, he accidentally drops one of the $2 coins he's trying to hand her into his own chip supply, which is a single $5 coin. She picks up the $5 coin thinking that's what they had dropped, then thinks he had overpaid her from the loan she had just taken, and they exchange it for a $2 coin. So he was shorted $3. 2) At 1:41:37 after Drying phase (phase 7) of Fall, he moves firewood +1 to joinery, but this can only happen during Task phase (phase 5). He would have to wait until the next season, which fortunately he could have done during Winter (so doesn't really change anything).
And excellent point about the task cards (instead of generic "recipe", name the task cards things like "barn", etc.). Minor adjustment that would have added much. Love the mechanics of this game, though. Great job, Alex!
2:01:13 The resource collection phase is also reminiscent of Egizia, where you can go as far forward along that path as you'd like but never backward. That creates interesting tension.
At 19:20-ish you incorrectly state that wood on rafts goes to your wood pile. That would be pointless, as that’s where it comes from before it goes on your rafts 😀. Rafts transport wood from your woodpile to your sawmill. Apologies if you corrected this later.
