Regarding your question about RGG Studio moving into the Unreal Engine, they're most likely not gonna, iirc they said that they will consider using that engine if future projects similar to Ishin Remake came up because of how flexible it is. But any new major RGG game going forward are most likely going to be staying on DE because of how well they're acquainted with the engine now as of 2024
@@vera4737that’s odd I checked Steam achievements and they’re both at .8% rn. Guess I’ll have to do three playthroughs for all achievements if that’s true. Oh well.
Or some nonsense like "Y'know, the statute of limitations has expired, and since the patriarch's wife has alzheimer's and she was the only witness to Tabata's murder, the case was dropped" So Yamai's as good as inoccent now
Bryce is not a parody of fighting god. At least not completely. It’s also a parody of DQ2’s final boss which is a priest followed by the god of destruction (Bryce being the priest, Ebina the destroyer). They did a similar thing with Tendo being the “dragon lord” equivalent.
@@zealous404 It’s not confirmed but it’s not a stretch at all. Like it’s pretty damn intentional. Like with y7 it’s like whatever sure I guess; the dragon is blue like the NES final boss so probably intentional. This? It’s literally a priest and a guy who wants to destroy everything. It couldn’t be more on the nose.
Im sorry but the guy who voices wong tu is actually rich ting. The guy you are thinking of who is in the good doctor is daniel dae kim, and he does voice a character in this game and its actually Ebina. Though i understand the confusion cause they do have a similar likeness
1:55:35 The song's name is BodyBag and it's probably my favorite song.. of any Yakuza game if I'm being honest. It just hits a completely different vibe than any of the other music i've heard from this series (and geniunely makes an enemy seem menacing, atleast early on).
Btw I agree on qte-action sequences jankiness feeling in this game, looks like they generally have two teams: one develops action games (judgment and gaiden) and another one was created for 7 and makes more RPG like games. I think they still intersect maybe and share some people here and there but the work of two different teams is still visible. So anyways, the way yakuza 7 handled qte-action sequences was lame, first they look like they should be qtes but actually they are not (wtf man), and second they are animated a bit awkwardly, you don't see that impact from hits or kicks and often. Even yakuza 3, 4, 5 qtes look better in terms of feeling the impact theb 7's. Judgment and Lost Judgment qtes are just superb. In 8 it looks like animation team which made 7 became better, and maybe had some help from the action games team, but still qtes generally feel not as good as Judgment ones.
17:01 Yeah the animation quality has noticeably dropped after Lost Judgment. I'm sure we all excused it in Kaito Files and Gaiden cause they were smaller titles, plus I still think they had some quality QTEs sprinkled around so it wasn't all bad, but even the coolest animated sequences in this game feels off. I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up cutting corners when it came to QTEs in this game with how high quality all the other animations are. Really the problem to me is the lack of impact, like I can take the generally floatier and goofier animations as long as the impact is still there, but it's really not. Heavy attacks have these pathetic weak sounds and aren't really emphasized all too well when they happen. Really hope this is solved soon.
Not sure if what you mentioned is the issue, because there’s VA’s in both Japanese and English that voice multiple characters in both main series and judgement.
Just as a light to think about, you can motivate yourself with that the company being rewarded with a little bit more money from this release+ng decision, could expand their operations further which will in turn reward us with even richer games going forward. I don't even know if I mind this format since it's optional and for people who deeply enjoyed the game enough to spend way more hours, honestly yea give them some more money and incentive for SEGA to invest more in this series. Kind of a win-win to me
@@nakanoyuko Nah bro. If it was only Dlc Classes, extra itens and that kind of thing. Sure. I would pay extra with no complaints. But as i said. Every other Yakuza game before this one had a FREE NG+ from release. And i played from 0 to 5. What will Sega lock behind an paywall next? Special minigames like dondoko island? Nah blud! I am not incetivising their bad ideas. Not today, not never!
The ONLY explaination we got about richardson in 8 was that after the fall from the hospital things were "real touch and go" (whatever this means) and then he went to hawai. And thats the last we hear about his past.
