Well about engineering, google ''Wuppertal Schwebebahn''. It is the exact same thing presented here in the video, and it exists already since 1901 in the german city called Wuppertal.

@@basiics it’s an old old technology. Monorails in Japan don’t use any humans like this. I suggest you travel to Japan before you talk about Germany. This is an extremely remote island called Enoshima and we still have this monorail for enjoying retro good old Japan. But Japan is much more advanced than all of Europe combined and not just Germany in terms of public transportations. I mean have you even traveled by rails in Europe? Always late and always dirty, it looks like 70s Japan.

千葉県人なので千葉都市モノレールのほうがなじみ深いですが(乗ったことは無いです) 車を運転してて上をモノレールが走ると一瞬前方不注意になりますねw 富士と夕日は鉄板ですよね　以前江戸川をサイクリングしていて、富士とスカイツリーと夕日がきれいに並んでて望遠レンズ付きのカメラを持ってこなかったことを後悔しました

A similar system has been used in Wuppertal, Germany since 1901. Only the track is upside-down - the train runs the right-way up...

I rode the Wuppertal line about 15 years ago and was surprised how normal it felt. I mean, everyone local was completely used to it and I had seen quite some pictures of it before. Ride was completely smooth and quick, too. Nice to see you're excited about the Japanese "sibling"!

Until a few years ago, Japan had a monorail system in Ueno that was a direct son of the Wuppertal Monorail. The Shonan Monorail in this video is a child of the Ueno Monorail, so it is roughly the grandson of the Wuppertal Monorail.

I rode this last month (April 2023). Google maps directed me towards it when I needed to leave Enoshima for Yokohama. Had no idea it was a hanging monorail, but was very happy to discover it was. A bumpy ride, but lots more fun and scenic than a rail or bus ride.

この下、日本で最初の有料道路である京浜有料道路。とはいっても昼間しか料金とられなかった。それも取られたり取られなかったり。野田湯に大船側からよく通ったが料金をとられたことがない。30年ほど前は料金所も椅子と粗末な雨よけだけだったような記憶。龍口寺側は全く覚えていない。オープンカーを列車から真俯瞰で撮影しようとしたが、車が全く追いつかなかった。

Enoshima is indeed really nice during sunset. You could also possibly see Mount Fuji in the horizon. A great day trip from Tokyo combined with Kamakura.

We have a similar Railway in Germany since 1901. Its called "Wuppertaler Schwebebahn". There a some smaler Railways in Germany, too - like the H-Bahn (DEW21) in Dortmund which is an Upsinde-Down Train on an University Campus.

Hello ! Greetings from Dortmund/Germany. It´s not only the Schwebebahn in Wuppertal - here in Dortmund we have the H-Bahn and at Düsseldorf Airport you can ride the Skytrain for free. Great video and absolutely beautyful sunset . By the way - I won the rock,paper,scissors today. Yay !!!

Bardzo dziękuję za wspaniałą wycieczkę!! Te małe kolejki to chyba pozostaną moje ulubione😍 Zaskoczyła mnie bardzo gęsta zabudowa wokół tych kolejek. Wiszący pociąg!! Niesamowite wrażenia!! Jednak bardziej realnie to wyglądało, gdy odwróciłeś pociąg(9:32) podobało mi się 😆Również pomyślałam o tym, a co gdyby się urwał wagon?!! 🤔 Spacer i restauracja nad oceanem w Enoshima ta atmosfera!! 以前、モノレールの深沢駅近辺に住んでました。懐かしいあまり風景も変わってないのもいいなぁボーリング場は無くなってるのね。仕事ずる休みして江ノ電乗って～稲村ヶ崎で降りて～江ノ島ほんといいですよ　富士山がすごくよく見える日があります　モノレールいいんですよね　後ろに乗るとすごくバンクしてるのがわかりますｗ

First train looked like an old fashioned trolley car. CRAZY close to houses on either side, YIKES! But wondering why there are not more of these types of trains in Japan??? BEAUTIFUL sunset, thank you for sharing!
