Thanks, yes it's good to challenge yourself every now and then, I was really pleased how this cams out especially as I was getting battered by very windy conditions. Thanks for your appreciation 👍
Thanks Matty, yes, I also did quite a few of these wings many years ago when this model of car was not so old, they all had that same rounded dent which I did on the left side! As you well know, they can come out quite well if you have enough patience!
Thanks! Not sure what was more challenging that day, the dent or the weather that completely blew my umbrella inside out and destroyed it! The joys of working mobile in the UK Weather 😂
Absolutely exceptional!!!! I have a 1982 Ford Sierra 27k miles with a similar dent in the front left wing and reallly really want to keep the paint/panel original......youve inspired me!! Im based in Falkirk, Scotland....dont suppose your planning a trip up!? 🤣
Sir, a remarkable transformation of what looked like the result of pretty severe collision. If only I were a few years younger, I would’ve love d to work under your tutelage. All the very best
Thanks John, yes it did look like it had been hit more than a few times! But yes it felt great to get it as good as I did as Peugeot metal can be a bit challenging. Thanks for your kind words 👍👍
Amazing work Jake! I know I was meant to be saving the video til tomorrow while I was around my camp fire …. BUT! Curiosity and all that! Well done that drivers front wing was an amazing save! And you know a 50% means “Challenge” just like we spoke about the other day! Have a great weekend Jake! Martin@ Dent-Remover
Thanks Martin, yes the hot and cold glue definitely took a lot of the hard work out of it, but there's nothing like being on your knees getting battered by gale force winds and icy rain pushing dents out, people with office jobs don't know what they are missing! 😂😂😂 Take it easy mate 👍
Yes PDR wasn't really known about when I was at body school in the early 90's. Yes, it's amazing what can be repaired these days. There are some amazing PDR guys all around the world today that are so talented and everyone of them is pushing the limits! It's great to see 👍
Jake you done it again!! Amazing work and I much appreciate you putting this together for us. As a bonus for us (because you don't treat us enough ;) ) I think we would love to see customer reactions if they are comfortable being filmed that is. Again, amazing. Thank you. Nearly done my 1st week at keco training and loving it.
Thanks, I’ve never asked a customer yet to be filmed. I’ll have to see if I can make that happen at some point. Great to hear your training is going well and that you are enjoying it. Looks like we might be seeing some of your videos soon! Wishing you all the best with the rest of your training 👍
Very nice. I've pulled a few dents recently with glue and it's really annoying when you pull the clearcoat or paint off..... 😂 Lucky for me I'm able to repair it. Awesome job as always 👍🏻👍🏻
Yes, the cold glue is much safer, but the hot glue can be a lot more aggressive. It did concern me on this as it was an older car, but I was confident from checking both panels closely that the paint was original. Thanks for the comment! 👍
Great video again! Currently I am struggling to get long, thin creases out. If you make a video about one of those that would be awesome. Or just any tips and tricks about those types of creases you may have would help a lot! You're an inspiration!
Thanks, yes creases can be difficult to do, you just have to know how to attack them, if you start them wrong they can lock up and become more difficult to do. It all comes with time and experience. But I will see if I can show a crease being taken out in more detail in another video. Thanks for your comment, best of luck 👍
@@1st_track_dents now watched. Always the same thing, can’t you start filming difficult dents not these little bumps. Anyone would think you weren’t very good 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I only really take on a job if the paint is undamaged, but you have to remember most dents are caused from a plastic bumper hitting the panel and as the plastic bumper is soft, it doesn't scratch or damage the paint. Paint is also a lot more hard wearing than it used to be. 👍
Lets see; 5 and 1/4 hours at $110 per hour=$577.50. A typical junk yard will sell these front fenders for about $35 each. Some rattle can paint finishes the job for about $100. Flipping the page, your workmanship is impeccable and worth every penny you charge.
Thanks 👍 although the UK PDR prices are probably the lowest in the industry, so your calculation is quite a way off and would be much higher if repaired in the USA, but yes if that was the price charged it would be worth that just because of the skill and work involved 👍
Idk what it is with European paint; but it's way better than north american paint. I just dented the tailgate on my work truck and the paint flaked like it was a bag of chips.
I think the paint quality is probably similar, it always amazes me how a big dent sometimes has no paint damage and then a penny sized dent has cracked the paint, I guess so many factors area at play when the impact happens, especially if the paint is very cold as it is more brittle. Thanks for your comment 👍
Hi! I have a question in regards to when applying the hot glue.. Does it make a difference setting the glue gun between high or low? In reading some manuals they claim the higher heat setting is for a stronger bond but I don't understand if that would have a better or worse effect in respect to its' application for pulling dents. I'd really appreciate any insights!
Hi, each brand of glue has a guide of how hot your glue gun temperature should be, most glue brands suggest that you should see smoke coming off the glue, for example the Glexo glue sticks that I am currently using say the application temp should be between 350-385ºF / 177-196ºC
Hello From India.! After seeing your skills and your accomplishments, am inspired.! Let me be at least half the You from India😁.! Could you pliz share me the detailed names of the tools you are using so maybe I can also get them Online.! Waiting for your positive response l.! Thank you.! ✌️
Thank you! There are so many tools to list, you should try and get on a PDR training course at some point. You just really need to get yourself a screw on tip bar a decent PDR light and a couple of knockdowns to start, most of all the top PDR shops will sell these, that would be a good starting point. 👍
Hello I live in tracy ca I’ve been having the hardest time trying to find a legitimate company that isn’t trying to take my money do you happen to know anyone in California that’s legit that can take out a dent on my Honda Civic 2022 on the hood
Have you tried Ken from Dent Discount? he is based in San Jose, Ca and has great reviews, other than that I struggle to recommend PDR companies in the UK. Ken has a great RU-vid channel and is good at what he does, if he can't help, I'm sure he will know someone who can. 👍
Hy bro i am in Pakistan i seek a lot of work to watch your videos i also same doing this work in Pakistan if you contact me so i can sent you a videos PDR danting amzing work and 16 year experience in this worka 😊😊😊
the talent you have is amazing.but on other hand i dont understand the likes or reviews you have 20000 views since june right?.a simple man with a either can shows a old tractor will it run after 20 years? they get 153 thousand views in 3 months its so upside down..ugg.i mean i did that at 15 but we had no video or tech back then.i been at pdr for 15 years they all still think well what does that mean?.ohh when you explain it they just dont get it even in 2022.most insurance companys here in us will just put a aftermarket fender on insurance they dont even consider fixing that and people so uninformed it just drives me crazy .I see constantly up north where people hit deer and it bounces and leaves dents down side the insurance company ignores them dents they write it up for front bumper parts ignoring the dents down side which most are pdr stuff.they try hard to ignore them dents until you point them out take pics ect to get a little bit of money and maybe make a customer happy even though i fixed the dent they probaly never knew it was there cause its buried in deerpoop
nice to see you treat every car with your usual high attention to detail, most people would turn their nose up at working on a little run around, it looked mint!!
can you do a tutorial for how hot and for how long to warm up the paint? and cool down times and when to reheat after cool down? that would be great for the channel
Incredible work, the drivers side dents looked really nasty and I thought beyond saving, you are very very good, each time I see a very small ding in my rear door (thanks to someone in a car park no doubt) I’m reminded of you and how I ought to plan a trip your way! Fantastic video, thanks.
Thanks, yes when the customer said that he was just happy for an improvement it took the pressure off and made me want to get it as good as I could. Thanks for your comment! 👍👍👍
Thanks Tom, yes I know you can relate very well to working in these conditions! Sometimes I don't know what's more challenging...doing the dent or battling with the weather! 😂 Take Care 👍
@@declanmceleney7429 I would love to have a workshop but the costs here for rent and business rates would leave me with nothing left at the end of the month. It would be good if I could find someone locally with some workshop space that I could rent as and when I needed it, but that's not easy to find. All the best Declan, have a great weekend! 👍
Thanks Mark, yes certainly took a fair bit of work to get it looking like that. These cars always have dents in these front wings like this so I have definitely had a fair bit of practice doing them over the years. 💪👍
