You can get statistics on how many babies and mothers die every year during the birthing process, but a load of those cases don't even get reported properly. A huge issue is that not every place around the world has the equipment to do a c-section on time and in a safe way. Even if the baby faces the right way and appears to come out okay, a lot can tear and rupture internally and externally. The younger someone is, the higher the odds are that the body cannot stretch and bounce back properly to facilitate birth. Giving birth is quite a gruelling and demanding process, and it should never be brought upon someone who is not even fully developed and done growing themselves...

Tauheed Shaikh I can't speak to specifics & I'm not sure what country you're from (I hate to assume), but there's been news stories here in the US of how child marriages, though illegal in both India & Pakistan, are tolerated in the less-developed areas in both countries. They're both so large & so populated that the laws are seldom enforced in them. Further, the reason it's a thing here is that traditional-minded families who live here arrange marriages for their underage daughters & bring them back to their countries. And it's not just a subcontinent issue. Families from other countries where Muslims live do the same thing. Unless there is better information targeted at them as well, the problem will continue.

Simran Mansoori I don't target Muslims, but when folks in the US who aren't from the subcontinent, or aren't descendents of immigrants from there, hear about this, they usually think it's a Muslim issue because the popular media reports mostly cases from Pakistan, etc. It's a gigantic problem for all involved, & I do apologise if I made it seem mostly a Muslim concern. The point is that under-age marriages are a huge problem that needs to be addressed in the US as well, no matter what the background.
