Never change lanes if you cant see in front of you. Shoulders can shrink becoming guard rails, walls, or ditches. The shoulder isnt on all stretches of the freeway.
@@JChan-ru2hfturn on emergency signal and slowly reduce speed until you stop pull down your window use your hand to remove whatever it is that blocks your window
That’s why you put your hazards on and slow down, if you’re in the far right or left lanes use your side windows and mirrors to SLOWLY pull out of the traffic lanes if you can see it’s safe. If you’re vision is 100% blocked from every angle while in the car, just stay in the lane you’re in.
Simple answer, turn on right blinker and head to the side of the road, stop without slamming, and turn on hazards... It's easy as long as you do not panic
@@RavenStar.. Truthfully this is a very difficult and unlikely situation. There's no real way to be prepared for it, you're just gonna have to stay calm and look at your options. Safe driving!
This literally happened to me and my bestfriend while he was driving. The hood of the car flew back and cover the whole windshield while we were in the passing lane and he had to use the rear and side mirrors to get to the shoulder. We pretty lucky to have been alive
I've had to do this when my hood flew up onto my windshield on the highway on a bridge in the far lane around semis. Luckily someone got behind me and shielded me from oncoming traffic and guided me so I could get off the bridge and off the highway.
The fact people can rear end me , is their problem. For a SOLID reason , driving school teaches you to always keep a safe distance and speed with the car in front
In India we are all in a hurry we don't stop. I see two outcomes. 1) put head outside window and drive. 2) if it's big put hand outside, grab it and pass it on to the driver behind. 3) if it's expensive grab and put it in, don't stop and keep checking if anyone's following you.
In such an instance, there's another way to stop the car. Turn on the hazard lights to alert other drivers, activate the front camera if available, and check the rear-view mirror. Gradually steer the car to the left and safely park without panicking.
Actually you can brake because if the car behind collides into your rear then it would be their problem for not keeping a safe distance. So ppl dont be afraid to brake suddenly to avoid an accident.
Once on the freeway a plastic bag hooked onto my windshield wiper and blocking my view, got to an exit and stopped to take it off, it was one of the scariest things 😭 it was at night so at least there weren’t many cars on the road.
DO NOT LISTEN TO THE PERSON IN THIS VIDEO!!!!!! The advice given in this video will likely get you hurt or worse. It is safer for you to get hit from behind than hitting something in front of you. If the people behind you are being safe drivers they will have time to stop behind you. If they are not than it is still better than you head on hitting a semi or tree or going off the road or a cliff or ditch. It is not your responsibility to worry about the cars behind you. If they hit you it is their fault for not following the most basic of traffic safety and you are far less likely to sustain a major or life threatening injury getting hit from the rear!
If this happened to me I’d turn on my adaptive cruise control, turn my hazard on and pull over to the emergency lane/side of the road asap. Taking this much time to slow down and get over will not save lives. You’re likely to slam into a car ahead of you.
No braking is the best thing you can do actually. The car behind you should not be on your ass and you should brake carefully and slowly putting your hazards on.
I think the only thing you could do legally in the US is stop? Anything else would be endangering others? If the car behind you cannot stop in time, that is legally their fault, not yours because they were too close and not a safe distance.
How are u supposed to be able to pull over to the other side if u can’t see the other side?!?! What ur supposed to do is turn on ur emergency light and start to slow down in the road. People will see this and go around u. Hope this helps❤
I would immediately roll my drivers window down all the way and stick my head out to ensure there is no traffic slowing down then briefly look in the rear view mirror the turn my hazards on and safely pull over and come to a complete stop. Then I would check my underwear!! 😂
Not sure if ragebait, but this is terrible advice. If your vision is obstructed, stop driving. Brake. Within just 4 seconds at 60mph, you drive 360 feet, the entire length of a football field. Taking any of these measures means driving blind at potentially deadly speeds. Not sure how it works elsewhere, but in the U.S. if you need to brake suddenly due to an emergency (such as a situation exactly like this), it's the responsibility of the drivers behind you to be following far enough back to stop safely and avoid hitting you.
Unfortunately, I live in Southern California. If I have my hazards on and trying to get to emergency lane, I’ll probably have people try to run me over/ not let me get over. And definitely some honking and fingers
in India we don't have emergency lanes and Hazardous Indicators rules don't imply to all the drivers, because all drivers don't know rules even the truck drivers. so what will you suggest?
