At age 34 I can tell you having a job at 13 years old and keeping it was hard n sometimes just miserable but it taught me discipline.

Went to McDonald’s to pick my homeboy up so he didn’t have to walk home after his shift. I was proud of him getting a job and it was his first day. I pull up the manager said he went home sick. Pulled up to his house bro was outside smoking a blunt talkin bout “F that place”.

I got hired at Papa johns and quit after my first delivery, Then took a pizza i was posed to deliver home

To the mfs saying construction is harder then working a warehouse gotta try it before they speak. As somebody who’s worked both yeah construction is way more physically demanding, but doing the same exact thing for 8 hours will make 8 hours seem like 20. It’s mentally challenging to do something so mind numbing, where as in construction the time flies and the only thing you gotta deal with is feeling tired when you’re shift is over. I prefer construction. I worked doing concrete on two Facebook data centers and a Amazon warehouse pouring the foundations in a 4 man crew so I had to pour thousands of sq ft of concrete. As people know doing concrete is one of the hardest labor jobs so that says something about my opinion.

After giving him some instructions on how to use the POS, he took all the money out, went up to the owner, and told him he didn't want the job anymore. Bro went through the whole interview process, paper work process, just to steal $125. He ended up getting arrested for an unrelated crime and he is in prison now. Btw it was a family owned business, so I hope he stays in jail for a long time.

Worked 2 fast food jobs and a sample job for one summer. Before that, I worked fast food starting at the age of 16. I hated every second of it and literally the only thing that kept me going was that i still lived at my parents house as I was saving up money to move out. I moved out at 20. I’m 32 now and I haven’t been back to a fast food job, apart from working Taco Bell for one day when I was 22. God that shit sucked. But at the time, I didn’t know how else I could move out. All this to say, I think I would have quit after training/orientation if I didnt fucking hate living with my parents so much.

I’ve worked at places that I worked 12hr shifts Monday-Friday for 16 an hour but I was working as a temp if I got hired on it would’ve been close to 20 an hour but still I’ve seen people quit after a couple of hours because they can’t handle that. It’s okay not everyone can work Warehouses and just like some people can’t handle manual labor.

My first job paid me $7.25 an hour back in 2011. I worked full time for 1 year and a month and quit on my 18th birthday. When you’re a 16-18 year old kid most of the time you have no skills and little to no work experience. It’s what you get. Todays kids complain about $13-$14 starting salary. I know we inflated the dollar but not 2x since 2011.
