OMG, she is so adorable. When I was little we had a raccoon with only 3 paws who used to go from cottage to cottage, begging for food. We all fed her, and she used to eat out of my hand. When she had babies, she brought them to see us. Once she stole an entire loaf of bread off our picnic table, lol.
Bless her heart, she must have thought it was Christmas when she snagged a whole loaf of bread - what a prize! There's a RU-vidr who has been feeding visiting raccoons for around 20 years. One female lived to be 13 - a great age for a wild raccoon - and every year without fail, she would produce a litter of babies and bring them with her to visit his porch. She trusted him so much, she would even leave her babies with him for an hour or more to babysit, while she went off to have fun! He would play with the little 'uns with a ping-pong ball on the end of a 'fishing rod' (stick with string). They loved chasing the ball, and it was great for their developing hand/paw coordination. One Spring she never showed up, and he knew she had laid down and passed away somewhere, during hibernation. She came to visit him with a new set of babies right up to her final year. With his help and hospitality, she contributed many healthy new sets of raccoons to the world. God bless her - and him!
@@PoppiB Probably. I don't agree with what he feeds wild animals, and don't watch him. I told the story in response to the original poster's account of a female raccoon who brought her babies to visit. Seems this is a frequently observed behaviour, the mother raccoons can form close bonds with the humans who feed them. To a nursing mother, food is survival - for herself and her whole family! As I've stated elsewhere, dry dog or cat food kibble is an excellent food to give raccoons, due to its wide range of vitamins and minerals - especially beneficial for Mamas who must produce milk.
@@glamdolly30 That's just bloody awful in the wrong neighborhood ! The confidence they can have in us is what will kill them. My cat is a stray. I got her from blocks that had way too many until they were "culled" out. In other words, probably mostly killed. babies are nice, associations take them easily, Old farts once neutered can be released, Some are just way too many and get an expiration date if not adopted. If they ever make it that far up the ladder. i for one advocate for a massive grave once, and shout it loud and clear : charity can't save you from idiocy or consequences. My 60 something millions have 8.5 abandonned animals. there is no righting this ship. My dog was thrown over the fence with all her litter, not even weaned. Got out and in again like a bad Christmas gift..Defective. I was used to a Rintintin, I took a Rantanplan. (very smart to moronic. I didn't want regrets, confusion, well, i got none !). rantanplan is THE dog who loves my avatar in comic books. Supposedly guarded my prison...and sticks to my shoes.
Adorable Bandito. Very gentle and courteous. You are gently letting him know that you don't always have snacks......but he is invited to come back for some another time. Good training as it takes the pressure off you. Thanks Patrick. What a sweet surprise to see his precious little masked face. Have a good evening.
She! U guys that's a she. She is breast feeding u can see her tits hang while she walks and stands up. She was hungry. Breast feeding takes a lot of calories
I'm chilled, just pointing out the animal is a nursing mother - she isn't only asking for food for herself, but also to feed them. I'm a big fan of Patrick and the way he treats his visitors. It's all good!
@@glamdolly30I agree. I see a lot of people leave cat food out for raccoon mamas and their babies. He has fed this raccoon once which is why she returns so he should keep feeding her at least cheap cat food. And put out water.
@@TheRealEvvonne Thanks, lovely post - and very good point about putting water out for wild animals/birds. They so appreciate it, especially in the hottest months. I notice there's a wonderful big fresh water tub on the grass outside Patrick's house, the bears stop there for a drink quite often - it's near the little bridge they also use! I don't know if that tub was Patrick's doing or someone else's, but it always looks beautifully clean and full so someone is taking the trouble to re-fill it frequently. Here in England I'm very envious of the exotic animal visitors Patrick enjoys. I'm also thrilled to see bears wandering around residential areas, causing no harm to anyone - and thankfully no humans causing harm to them. It's a reminder we can live in harmony and safety with these magnificent animals, if we just respect them and keep our distance, as Patrick does.
Thank you so much for feeding her. She is a newly mama she needs all the nourishment she can get. She is out during the daylight because it's the only time she can feed. Her kits (babies) require her feeding them at night. Look at her belly she has very large nipples from feeding. July or Aug she should be bringing her kits around. If you can when she's around give her a bowl of dry kibble cat or dog food. I have a lil Bandita I thought was a lil Bandito also. Their favorite is marshmallows and grapes. Your gonna love the kits.
What a cute and curious little Mama- I wonder where her babies are? I see the word has spread throughout the neighborhood. All the critters check the bird feeder. LOL! Thanks Patrick.
Talking about birds, if she's smart, she'll hit every nest. An egg contains all the vitamins you need to breed life. Bird watchers might be the first to want her and her flock down.
@@auntisthenes2754 Am afraid at times too. Just truly seems to know what he is doing. Have only seen respect from the bears toward him. Few people have a gift like this in life. Always hope for the well intentioned bear visits only. ♥️🐻♥️
@@billrobbins5874 I hope he's more Canadian-like. No offense to Americans, you get my gist. Being in harmony with nature doesn't do much against bears (a good start, but, yeah). He knows his stuff. It sure made him a little friend with a strong appetite. If he doesn't provide, how sure is he others won't shoot ? i trust HIM. Just him. he feeds the damn thing or it will plunder everything in sight. Bandito, indeed.
So precious and I just love the way he stands up as if saying please uncle Patrick a treat would sure be nice. These videos bring so much joy and I just love how the animals all respect you. Thank you for sharing and be safe.❤❤❤
Love his name 😊. He is absolutely adorable 🥰. My heart melted when he stood up in front of you and he knows where the feeder is too. Such a little gentleman. I hope he comes back later. Thank you Patrick. Loved it.
Not a gentleman - a lady with babies to feed, hence her searching for food daytime when they are a nocturnal species. I hope Patrick will help her with some snacks - dry cat/dog food kibble is excellent as it provides all the vitamins they need. Pretty easy to give too!
@@glamdolly30 oh I didn’t realize. Thanks 😊. Well she’s a very polite lady. I hope he will too. My son has a video channel with raccoons and feeds them peanuts and marshmallows. They’re so adorable 🥰
Now the "Raccoon Whisperer" up in Nova Scotia would be giving out hot dogs, vanilla cookies, marshmallows, grapes and other treats. His name is James Blackwood and his wife Angie feed their raccoons every night on you tube. Probably not the best diet but not really and worse than if they raided someone's trash can. So cute. Love to watch them take the food with their little hands. They even have water buckets for the coons to wash the food. Makes me smile cuz they are so darn cute. 😁
the Raccoon Whisperer is a licensed raccoon rehabber. He's licensed by the province & endorsed by wildlife sanctuaries in the Maritimes. Pretty sure he knows what he's doing. Plus he also puts out dog kibble, which is good for them.
He was listening to every word! Gorgeous little guy, Great name he’s like a wee Zorro! I think the words out about the birdseed and the manners required to access. Thank you again Mr Conley, lovely filming. 🥰🏴🇬🇧
She's a girl, not a guy, and judging by her teats has other mouths to feed right now besides her own. Which explains why this primarily nocturnal mammal is searching for food in the daytime. If she can't get sufficient, she won't produce adequate milk supplies and the consequences for her babies could be critical.
@@Diana-007 Lol! I've been called many things in my time, 'raccoon expert' is one of the nicest (if only it were true!) I have an eye for a lactating mother, having bred dogs in a former life!
Quel malin ce petit bandit: il a sentit la nourriture et ... Il revient car il sait qu'il sera gâté par son gentil Oncle. Merci pour ttes ces belles vidéos authentiques. Je les adore ces ourses
"Lil' Bandito"🦝 You come up with PERFECT NAMES for all these cute, beautiful animals that come to visit you Patrick! This little guy even knew where the birdseed was. You're a special man with a peacefulness about you that attracts these loving animals to you! THANK YOU FOR SHARING THESE SPECIAL MOMENTS WITH US! Hopefully the next one will be with Simone & her cubs again! I'm sure you're worried about her as much as I am! 💔🐾🐻💕Have a wonderful evening Patrick. 💯☝️🤗❤️ Sincerely, Sheila from Connecticut
Europe don't have those or anything like it in public spaces. Some countries have huge squirrels in their gardens. And cats just let them through, not batting an eye. why bother ? They suck at killing them and humans aren't thankful... I'm sure Canadians will find a rather peaceful way. Not so sure about Americans. each state will decide. They're not nasty rodents carring rabbies. Although they sometimes do. They don't attack.
I think it may be a girl. When she stood up I didn't see any indication of being a boy; although, of course, I'm no vet! I think she was clearly asking where the seeds are that the bears keep raving about, Uncle Pat!... 😂😂🥰
She is a very brave, smart girl. And the way you laughed at her was so much fun! Funny, how conscious they are about what it means to leave the porch, looking back at you (and sometimes coming back, like this girl did).
The porch, for sure,is place of Almighty's immense blessings. All his creations walk in and out of that porch like it was their grand parent's home.❤❤❤❤❤❤🤠
@@andrzej52 Agree 💯 % They are very intelligent and they know how to survive according to what experts are saying. If you like Raccoon's please view "Timmy mc, Johnny the raccoon" 👍💯
The fact that he completely understood the tone of your final "No, later" is just amazing. You are such a good communicator with them, and they are incredibly intelligent as well. Beautiful interaction.
Was that the 'Frito' Bandito with no Fritos to eat, Patrick? She'll be back (looked like she was nursing) and will probably settle for bird seed .... that is, if Simone doesn't beat her to it❣️ Fortunately, for you dear friend, all the local critters have spread the word as to the whereabouts of your front porch. Enjoy the live entertainment....you are indeed making us very jealous. Well deserved 💞 💚🦝💚🐻💚 🐾
After watching several of the Raccoon Whisperer's videos you referenced previously, I have a renewed respect for these little guys. They can be rather sweet and cute. Thank you for shedding a new light on these little guys. They are God's creatures too.
❤ Nice to see the cute, smart raccoon visiting Pat. He's standing on his legs now how cool that was to see. Seems like he's familiar with humans and he's been around to visit others. So he has other human neighbor🦝 friends this little fella possibly.😂❤❤❤He understands Pat.😅😂😅
What an absolute blessing to be able to interact with these animals in such a way. Also didn’t you see Uncle Patrick? The lil fella just wanted a hug 😂. Thanks for sharing everything that you do.
He's beyond precious! I always adored raccoons and their little masks; cuz they ARE little thieving miscreants lol! His whole way of behaving on the porch put me in mind of Milo when he was little - esp. looking very interested in you, Patrick! Thanks for yet another charming vid! ❤❤🐾🐾
Take a closer look - 'He' has teats! She's a hungry nursing Mama, with babies to feed and possibly insufficient milk to do it. I so hope Patrick will help her out with a little food on her visits.
@@mortalclown3812 that’s where your wrong he’s feeding them because he loves taking care of the wildlife and besides raccoons will eat anything and he gives them grapes
That little booger! She knows exactly where the goodies should be. Her timing was just off. She is so freakin cute, I just couldn't not have something for her, especially being a hungry, nursing mama. You are just so blessed to have all these critters respect and trust you so much, Patrick. 😊🐻🧸🦝💕
Hopefully she was given a treat later I felt sad when she walked away I hope that she continues to visit Uncle Patrick and gets treats in the future for her and her babies.
Glad you're not doing what that guy in Canada does. It's hard to see that. Hoping this little one's doing ok. Love your gentle way with nature, Patrick. Blessings. ❤🦝
Oh gosh, word has come down from The Raccoon Whisperer (RU-vid channel hosted by James, a lovely Canadian gentleman) that Uncle Pat loves animals. James and his wife have something like 50 raccoons visit their porch every night and each raccoon gets at least 2 entire hot dogs! 😂
Awwww! Adorable! A little racoon! You sure get a lot of wildlife popping by, Patrick. They know you love animals and they know they are safe with you. Animals can sense who is a good person and who isn't. Word got round in the forest that animals are always welcome on your porch. We don't have bears or racoons here in the UK. Sometimes I see a fox, being in the countryside, and we got deer. That's about it for wildlife. A few Sasquatches apparently run through a forest near where I live. Other than that, neighbors' cats are always stopping by for a chat. I don't have a kitty at the moment as my kitty crossed over to the spirit world years ago, and I'm now dealing with severe disability. If I do ever get an operation to cure me, I'll have a cat again. Or, rather more, I'll think about it - I miss my cat and it would never be the same again.
They sometimes come out during the day when they are really hungry 😢 I had one that did that for awhile. I fed it and after a few days it didn’t come back or only at night.
Coming out in the daytime would be frightening for me if I were on my deck or porch. Those those things will tear up your house real quick. They'll get in your eaves, will dig under your porch, deck, any place that they can live close to a food source. We had a nest of those things in the loft of the top of our garage. Had to call Critter Control.
Yes, they're desperate for food and don't scare easy to feed their brood. But they're no attack dogs and you're not on their menu. Critter control is the right answer for you though. "Those things" are highly intelligent. Maybe one of your neighbours fed one, maybe your dumpsters or compost pile spell "waste"..
Awe!! So cute how as soon as you said she was too close and couldn't see her she backed up to get in frame! 😄 Clearly you have found the Disney forest animals. 😀
Lil mama is out wrong time of day. She is polite. For now. Hope she stays that way. Patrick do you have much rabid wildlife where you are? In the PNW we have way too much. Imo She looks fine but it’s odd she’s out so early. Be safe, be wise 😊
