Don't apologize for the long videos. I subscribe to you because you deep dive. Makes me appreciate the art more when I hear an expert like you be passionate about what you hearing.
you know, ive been trying to put to words why i like these kind of reaction videos so much and mainly why do i like stevie the most... "Makes me appreciate the art more when I hear an expert like you be passionate about what you hearing" is a fantastic way of putting it
This is 31 minutes of the most impressive and thorough hip hop analysis YT has to offer. Anybody complaining about this video being too long is exactly the type of person that shouldn't be listening to songs like "The Antagonist" in the first place. Keep doing your thing Stevie Knight. We see you.
Seeing a dude like you giving this kind of of respect to a rapper like lil dicky breaks down barriers man. I love music, rock music, hip hop, classical every genre. Music speaks to the soul. I hope some of these new rap fans get on your channel and get educated.
Yea I've been trying to get him to do Quitter, Kings Never Die, and RockBottom for a while now. Can't fathom how his patreon didn't vote on at least one of those for the 15 songs he reacted to for his eminem week at the end of June
@@Jaze1618 im a pateron and nothing i suggest gets acknowledged, to many people wanting the same shit to the point if noone else wants to hear it the messge dont get seen. that and there like 400 paterons so its hard for him to do every song that gets suggested
You just a, Quiterrrrrrr and you bitter cause I came aloooooong (and the days of house of pain are gonnnne). Talk ab my lil girl Ina song again imma kill youuuuu (imma kill youuuuu) WHAT A BANGER BRUH
I personally couldn't stand the nasally way he rapped in Jewish flow. I get it was done for a reason, but it grated on me. Never been able to finish that track.
Ryan Eman the issue is, it’s hard to be perceived as “more” than that, when your primarily put out the funny rap tracks. I like LD a lot, if he wants to be taken more serious, he’s got to put more shit out like this
I've never seen a react this fucking good for this song.. watched every minute of it.. good shit Stevie.. keep doing your shit.. btw I've got a feeling the new lil dicky album supposed to be coming, is gonna have a more serious tone.. I think the whole point of his TV show "Dave" was to let the most people know who he is when he at the height of his game after "earth" before he starts taking over the rap game.. the kids fuckin strategic bro
My dudeee, best reaction video I’ve ever seen! You catch bars like “Peerless” and I’ve always heard it as “Fearless”. Keep up the good work man! Don’t listen to anyone saying the reactions are too long, it’s just cuz you catch so many bars and double untarndras and I’m letting you know we all appreciate it!
That would be cool but for some reason I’m more excited at the prospect of Dicky and Token. The bars would be insane, but yeah Em would be cool too, another amazing track would be Dicky and Joyner.
@@robertbair4019 Just Dicky and another of the greats cause we dont hear him too much with someone else, I"ll featurings cause it pushes both artists to try their best imo
🔥🔥 LIL DICKY 🔥🔥 is a beast! He's got bars, flow, he's got it all. "it's a double my guy!" 😂 He can do more then the funny shit, this man can spit with the best of them. Thanks for the reaction man!
Dicky is a boss. He’s played this game as good, if not better, than anybody. He drops gems now and then to remind people he can flat out spit. Dudes a genius. Nice breakdown. It was long but appreciated from someone who listens to music differently. Love your work.
The “I’m in a soda/ Minnesota” bar is a segue, an advanced form of writing, using words strung together that can mean two different things but sound the same to move from one topic to another without the need of separate sentences! They’re dope af.
Damn my guy and the +6 upvotes; if you guys are going to request stuff from people, at least do a quick search of there videos to make sure they haven't done it already... like a year ago. 💯💙
@@Jaze1618 man i knew i had to see Stevie react to this video because he literally catches every single thing man, NOBODY ELSE on youtube did this song justice! Stevie Knight the goat reactor
Yo bruh. I been watching your videos everyday day. I'm so happy I found this channel. You and the people that fuck with this channel think and feel the exact same way about hip hop that I do. Keep doing what you do. I have such a good time listening to you breaking down these bars and getting hype bout it. Thanks for the content.
"I'm in a soda - Minnesota" It's a slant rhyme, like when Anderson Paak said "Michigan = Machine Gun" on Music to be Murdered by P.s. This could be a huge reach, but at the start when he says "can you turn my headphones down" Eminem said "can you turn the beat up a little bit" at the start of "The Way I Am" and this is lil Dicky basically saying this is "The Way I Am" as I said, maybe a huge reach 🤷♂️
You are correct on the first part. Sort of a reach on the second part but not really. I think he was more so joking about how most rappers usually ask to have their headphones turned up. He jokingly says “can y’all turn my headphones down, significantly?” But hey who knows maybe you’re right! Whether he knows it or not, it is a compatible song for Dave.
If you want to see another side of Dicky that's a little softer and based off some shit he went through check out "Molly". (It's sort of sad, but it explains the sacrifices people like Dicky make for their dream careers.)
This still one of my favorites tracks and favorite reactions to this track. I come back to this every few months bro salute 🙏 I wish this was how LD was 100% time but I gotta feeling he's gonna drop the little dicky and go to a different personality since he now has all our attention. The man's seriously a genius.
@@jdigga24 The difference is a double entendre has a dual meaning using the exact same words. For example: "Your comment sound like music, cause you hit the right keys." Keys refers to both a keyboard and keys on a piano. But it's still the same word. Homophones only work when you say them out loud because when you read them the words are spelled totally different. For example: "Make 'em a stake / Make a mistake" sound exactly the same but they're written completely different.
With a song like that, no wonder nobody ever tried to have LD in a beef. That guy could unite all rap artist. Lol he s one of the good artist. Need him to return to music . Would do great colaboration with many other big names.
Great reaction vid, I love how thoroughly you break down each bar. You should react to "Really Scared" by him, its another of his tracks in this lane that I haven't seen reacted to much.
Keep doin you. Keep being real aF. Love the content and the deep dives into the lyrics and the meanings behind the words. A lot of people skim the surface of the lyrics and miss a whole other world imbedded within the mesh of the lyrics. I dont hate mumble rap, it has its place in the club scene for those that just wanna chill and vibe, but the whole "tf he just say?!?! run that back! that shit was dope aF!" kinda rap is what I live for bro. The lyrics and the bars within the bars is what made rap the most influential music genre of our era.
Bruh Stevie, your so fucking under rated, I love no life shaq for the show he puts on, and he can break bars down, But you man, When it comes down to fucking breaking bars down, YOU ARE THE GOAT NO CAP. #TALK YO SHIT. You deserve so much more of a fan base
BRO i cant say enough how much i appreciate the depth of your breakdowns. You miss 0 bars and I love it, unlike some of these other YT reaction channels claiming they miss nothing but then they miss the hardest-hitting, deepest bars. You're like the LD of reactions lol keep riding my dude
With the whole N-word concept he is saying black rappers are able to talk their shit by just blanket statement using the N word to address someone or people (their antagonist). Whereas he said "Where is my antagonist", he wants to be able to talk his shit but he doesn't have an avenue to do that (can't use that word), and everyone has been supportive along his journey, he has no haters (where are they, he's thirsty, wants that smoke). Absolute fire.
RE: About Lil Dicky not able to do what he loves, just doing what sells - That's everyone though. A lot of people have to make those sacrifices. I want to write long novels and niche shit, but I write user manuals and technical docs. It's one of those....close enough to the dream. And everyone decides what approximation of their dream is enough, until they get to their dream.
All I knew was that I was gonna enjoy this reaction, but halfway through I’m jumping outta my chair😂😂 it felt like I was listening to the song for the first time again as Sk broke it down and realized what a banger this is !
My man's Stevie don't have the love he deserve, this man's only got 178k subscribers. Ya'll subscribe to him, what other reactions you gon get like this. He actually care about the rapper's perspective when they barrin us. Keep up the work homie, eventually people gon see where they need to come to to get the truth.
LD is the best rapper in the game right now. Now one spits as hard as he can spit. And LD's vocabulary is broad. He could write a track about toast and it'd still be pure fire. 🔥🔥🔥
Don't know if you'll see this but nice reaction! Been watching for a long time, Lil Dicky - Russel Westbrook on a farm was one of my favorites. I love your long reactions. I was going through your reactions though and noticed you've never reacted to NF - Nate. Dope song and you haven't done NF in a long time. It's off his most recent album.
Ayyyyyyye saw a Stevie LD fuck it not LD David Burd* reaction and new it had to be fire. Been loving watching this channel grow for a while and finally joined the patreon fam! Keep doing your shit man
9:11 Eminem had the same issue. Interscope Records told Eminem on each album you need to have a song like Hi My Name Is. Eminem didn't want to but did it because he had to.
But when is anyone gonna realize the antagonist is himself as David bird vs Lil dicky he can't find the antagonist he keeps asking is it you is it you and at the end he says yall didn't realize I didn't make this for yall that's the damn thing he did it to prove it to himself
LD is a quite simply a GOAT. Your opinions on bars are legitimate, I hardly miss bars and sometimes you catch ones I don't. Out of the 500 youtubers reviewing rap music, yours have to be the most intelligent.
Yoooo stevie, ANoyd is preaching! The world needs to hear this dudes new song(it got realeased like a month ago): "BlacKKK baby" check it out if you have the time! Ps. loving the content man, as a european I sometimes don't even hear that there's a bar because it references things I have never even heard off. Its nice to hear you explain these kinda bars because it makes the songs hit so much harder! well, to me atleast! Thank you for that it's appreciated!
To my ears man, LD reminds me a lot of Royce. The flow switches and the way he crafts a scheme, I swear I can hear him in there without it being an impression.
Bro when he’s talking about the rotten tomato’s is hard. Like back in 96 the car to have was a 64 impala. So he’s also saying his raps get a 96 and yours is a 64. But if he were back in 96 all these rappers would be hovering around his 64 impala. Fire man fucking fire.
Yes get pissed over politics and money in music Stevie. They need to let these artist be free and give beautiful art to the world. That's what there here for.
