Its cool how these rappers from Chicago were all legit real friends before the music shit in the streets. A lot of rappers don't become friends till they already rapping
something about the whole Chicago 'hip-hop' scene is intriguing... if you listen to these young dudes, you really get an insight into what's really going on in Chicago... whether they are doing it, or not... they might not be the most lyrical out there, but they way they rep, reminds me a bit of NWA in the 80s, and most of NY in the 90s... they def do have a sense of 'identity' and WE all know that's lacking in hip hop now..
Only thing is ice cube and some other nwa dudes wasn’t really about it they just seen it where as the dudes in Chicago actually lived in these gritty streets
And they weren’t making professional music videos, it’s just them recoding themselves on the block in their streets or whipping a car around the neighborhood. Everything is down to earth and real
Damn near a decade and this comment has stood the test of time this is exactly what the Chicago drill scene brought into hip hop their sense of identity and insight into their life
