Apple Music’s Zane Lowe talks with Lil Nas X about his new album, MONTERO. Pre-add ‘MONTERO’ on Apple Music: apple.co/monterointerviewYT #LilNasX #MONTERO #ZaneLowe
Can we please appreciate Zane Lowe more? Man always has the best questions and can pull of an interview for 40 minutes… He makes everyone he interviews so comfortable and doesn’t irritate them with basic relatshionship inquiries, it is just a genuiene conversation and I LOVE that
If you HATE Lil Nas x you gotta be racist or homophobic. There's no other logical reason to hate him. Edit: And if you do hate him for those reasons, those aren't even logical reasons. You're just a a$shole.
There are millions of gay black men who are about to be vindicated in the most tender way by this album. This man crested an entire fantasy world with himself as the main character. He has taken all of the media criticism and legal challenges over the past year and turned into into gold. I hope he reaps everything he has worked for with this album. I cannot wait to see the Monteo Universe.
That is usually the case. I've been working in the industry for 15 years, and the idea that most celebrities are entitle a**** is a myth. People who perform at this level usually have come in peace with themselves, otherwise, they need substances or other form of toxic sustenance, and they usually won't last long. There are of course some people who have the reputation - rightfully - of being total a*****, but no more than in any other field or social classes : you have a minority who are really bad, a minority who are really really cool, and most who are just going by. But at the very top of the artistic industry, usually, people are extremely kind and humble. They do what they love : actors, musicians... athletes too are usually very very calm and down to Earth. They need to be. Politicians, that's a whole different issue. They're chasing power over others, while artists and athletes are chasing power over themselves.
Slandering Lil Nas X means that something is wrong with YOU, not him. This man is so honest, chill, and of course innovative. I will accept zero hate towards him.
in twenty minutes of interview i was already crying hard. being part of the queer and black community, having a tough childhood, dealing with the feeling of "i don't belong here", "I'm gonna die soon", "i don't have true friends" or "i don't deserve anything good that's gonna come" really hit hard. thank you for speaking up about the album, for expressing yourself for you and for so many others that had been through the same thing, it really means a lot, nas. i can see in your eyes all you are trying to say, i can hear your story inside your music, and that's magic. love u, and thank u again.
@@ripit.3457 No, being gay is not a down side. But Nas is not gay. Its an important distinction to me because he is my crush. Give a gal a dream 💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽😂😂👍🏽🙏🏽
@@Thematureexoticallady i know this was a comment over a year ago.. but i think you'll find that his friends (the producers) in this interview call him "nas" so it makes sense that other people will too after hearing that. referring to him as "nas" on a video which features "lil nas x" obviously means they're talking about him and not the original nas.
Awesome interview. I see Nas X as a force to be reckon with. He’s humble and he’s smart. I’m a 66 year old man who’s in the music business and I really see bigger and better things coming his way. Keep doing u and what u feel young man.
What made “Old Town Road” so powerful, it was a song of the times. With everything that was happening in America. That song imo triggered a real emotion from all sides of whatever political affiliations you sided with. If you really listen to the tone. The song is pretty deep.
this interview and project is so powerful. i dont think ive ever felt so much emotion over an album that it is hard to put to words how i am feeling about it.
So proud of LNX, they finally taking my man seriously amongst all his craziness lol, this interview is so insightful and inspiring and the project finna be FIRE 🔥💖

@@breayyayiyt8005 B.Y., hey. Some say religion is overrated, or, it's fine, except when it isn't. My Christian faith tradition doesn't believe in heaven, hell or devils. If we've been faithful when our eternity beckons, our spirits and God's are aligned, while our bodies "return to the dust." We believe people are responsible for good and evil, and human beings my good person, you and I, WE, must practice love, for the world's ills are mockeries of it. If you're not divine, what's your point about "sin," as I know all of us can look in our mirrors to see who can do better? With due respect.
LNX is so fucking beautiful as a person, like in EVERY WAY. Zane Lowe is an extraordinary interviewer, he really gets down there to make sure he's on that artist's level, or trying to. and if he doesn't get something, he wants the artist to help him out so he doesn't get it wrong. he comes correct, and you have to respect that.
I think of Lil Nas X as a revolutionary in the music industry. He’s going to be up there with Nicki Minaj, Frank Ocean, and Lizzo. Changing the industry one song at a time
Baby, I just saw 2 interviews that you did before noon and now I’m getting to this one… Your Definitely on your promo grind and I’m here for it👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Waiting for you to pop this baby out chile so I can download and listen to it on repeat❤️❤️❤️
I love when zane interviews an artist I feel like it’s a therapy session for the artist, if anything I wish the interviews were longer ! Like a deep dive
When this album comes out I am soo going to buy it. My kids and I enjoy all your songs I do not normally allow them to listen to the adult style of music but lil nas x has songs that I can relate with and we listen to them when ever we are in the car or at our store
the fact that this album is made while I'm coming out as non binary demixual and still trying to figure if bisexual or pansexual.... so good so fullfilling
Congratulations!! I love seeing fellow members of the bi/pan community feeling comfortable exploring and expressing who they are. Don’t sweat about labels, go with what’s right, right now. we’ll be here no matter what 💜🏳️🌈🦋
I am so proud of the dude!! I feel like he allows others and himself to just be uniquely themselves and I feel like we need that more within our society. Spread love & kindness ❤️❤️
This is one of the best interviews I've seen in a very long time. I love this guy! I was so afraid fame and success would take him down the wrong road but he remains such a super nice and humble guy. He's just so likable. You can see how much he has grown and learned. Wishing you all the success you deserve.
Lil Nas radiates such pure and happy energy. He’s genuinely a beautiful soul and talented artist. I don’t understand how anybody could talk negatively about him.
I have been watching and listening all night to your ‘Baby’ with great emotion - passion, joy, hope, pain, humor, dread, perseverance, and love! All things that only Prince had given me before, but never on the same album as you have accomplished. I, for the first time in my life, feel fully represented by someone else’s lyrics and thoughts conveyed through music. For me, a gay man now 54 years old, you have represented many life experiences I experienced from 15 to 28 years. I love this album, your heart, and you! Congratulations, on birthing such an unbelievable project. I look forward to hearing your work for many years to come.
Enjoyed the interview from beginning to end 💯 truly was refreshing to hear Lil Nas X explain his approach to his artistry🤟🏽 loved how his boys show love and respect for him. He's not just their employer but more like a brother and great Freind😊 the Interviewer was very pleasing to watch and listen to when asking his questions. Truly an all around awesome interview👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾💯
wow this dude is… i can’t even word it rn i just wanna stay here for awhile and watch him grow, admire his work, and support him as best i can from so far. i really vibe with u dude
what an incredible interview. the insight from the producers was great, I loved that they got time in the spotlight, they deserved to be appreciated for their work.
Lil Nas oh bless you. You seem like such a sensitive soul. Which is a good thing. When you lose someone close to you it hits hard. And it takes time to process all the emotions you will go through with grief. Being a human will bring challenges. Joy, pain, and everything in between. There’s so much covered in this interview. I wish you all the best in life young man. I wish I could give you a hug. Great interview.
This interview made me love him so much more than I already did, I even got emotional. You can see how raw and genuine and brave he is, he's such a cool talented creative genius and nice person, I wish I could meet him someday! Also, Zane Lowe KNOWS what he's doing, he's so good, oh my god!
This video makes me admire you so much. You seem like such a genuinely nice dude. Love seeing your meteoric rise and hope to be able to give you a fist bump some day and tell you in person how much you and your art and your heart move me. Keep going. Climb every mfing mountain. 💙
