I used to love this song so much, I showed it to someone who was my chosen family. He was like my big brother. His name was Chris. He also liked this song alot. I would over play this in the car, and he didnt mind at all what I played or how loud I played it. He's dead now. He passed August 2019. I haven't been able to listen to this song in a long time, same with other songs. I also haven't really been ok or at peace with doing holidays anymore. Tonight I set up my own Christmas tree, which has been impossible for me to do for years due to the grief. Besides setting up my Christmas tree, I listened to a bunch of old songs that I used to play in the car or at home. I held his box of ashes to my chest and cried my eyes out. I'll never forget him, but it's a bit easier on me this year with grieving. I still think of him everyday, and I still text his phone on occasion and on holidays even if he can't answer. I still have other family but I was hurt so bad that I couldn't properly participate in holidays anymore. I was there for the most part, but every holiday hurt me inside. Merry Christmas to my big brother Chris Panagakis. I'll be sad for a while but I'll get back up. The tree looks good, and the presents for family and friends will look even better under it. I just thought I'd share a backstory with RU-vid, I felt like writing it out.

Was workin at a movie theatre at the time and the last show ended right around. 11 when this dropped, I was listening and when the “tryin to keep your cool at your grandfathers funeral” line dropped I started bawling man. His health was declining, so I knew if was coming. Luckily had another wonderful year and a half with him. Long Live Peep mane, music got me through a lot of dark shit

I don't think people give enough attention to how dark this song is. He's saying how he thinks life is beautiful, but stating awful things that truly happen in the world at the same time. And the fact that he changes his line of "isn't life beautiful?" to "Isn't life horrible?" midway through the chorus adds even more to the ominous feeling of this song. An absolute masterpiece.

I wish I could put things into words. My brains too loud and everything is so scrambled 24/7. Tired of being tired. Sick of being sick. Sick and tired of being in the middle of everyone’s problems on top of my own yet mine aren’t even noticed or cared about. I’ve been doing this life alone for far too long. Single father is the reason I’m still here. Literally made an attempt that 1 in a million would survive and then upon leaving the hospital just a few days later I found out I was going to be a father. I still hold on that being the reason I was kept here. All the things you hear about people dying and coming back are true. I could see everything going on as I was floating above my body watching them work on me. To this day the people who were at the hospital for me don’t understand how I know what I do. I was basically gone and not coherent one bit. Yet I knew just about everything plus more. It’s still something I don’t open up much about because it sounds crazy I know, and it just isn’t easy. But I guess here on RU-vid I feel more comfortable sharing it. Life is beautiful but at the same time it’s not. To this day my family and I are going through the unimaginable with two of my brothers and it never gets easier. Every day is a new fight but coming out on top and pushing through is what needs to be done to continue this journey. I know the reason I was kept here being that I was becoming a father without knowing.. now I hold onto the reason I have to stay is because I am a father and he needs me! If you’re having a hard time reflect back on any song that will pause all that loud noise in your head to replace it with other noise that is going to actually help you think.. and maybe speak for you so things make sense in that moment. I love everyone and I hope you all stay blessed. ❤

It was so obvious he was struggling with his addiction in videos like this one. I know that was part of his image but he knew he wasn't going to be around for too much longer. It's so sad that you can't help an addict until they want to help themselves. I've been clean off hard drugs and alcohol for over 4 years but sometimes Peeps music is the only thing that keeps me going. He was too real for this world. Rest Easy Gus. ❤

The "Trying to keep your cool at your grandfather's funeral." line came and I instantly started tearing up. Because I was trying to keep my cool at both my grandfather's service and his funeral. Peep gave so much of himself to the music and to his fans, there wasnt enough left for him to control his own fate. His passion and love for music was mixed with fans expectations of a person who gave the love that could have saved him to all of us.

I just found Lil Peep and educated myself about him and his legacy. I am incredibly moved by what this young man stood for and how he so devoutly wanted to help and change the world. He is the same age as me and I am so sad to know he no longer is in this world. What a kind, strong, selfless and passionate human being. The world can be so cruel to people who feel and give so much. Rest in power.
