He probably ain't heard brothers because the wasnt on the radio as much but he definitely heard pop out and mood swings it's no way he works at a radio station and ain't heard those
This is a wise young man. I'm a 50 year old African American woman, heard many interviews but this young man...something about him...he has something to give to the world. I will remember his name and I'm looking for and expecting great things. And this everyone is a young man that if he keeps moving like this will only go up...keeping prayer over him.
To be real they must not listen to dude because he definitely sounds like the modern version of a N.Y. artist he has a steady flow even though it’s melodic he actually be kicking bars and actually puts effort in his lyricism...
@@Dynasty19 lmfao facts, age got nothing to do with it. I’ve seen “older” rappers give homage to younger/newer rappers, so why can’t these ppl who cover music do more research? “Callin My Phone is all I know” Charlemange if u don’t shut yo dumbass tf up☠️😭
@@Dynasty19 being in the music business doesn’t mean you need to or should listen to said artist. There’s thousands of musicians. This kid is 19. Cthagod is over 40.
I didn’t know who T-Jay was until pop out, then I heard him on 2k but didn’t know it was him until I listened to his catalog. Now I’m a fan. Protect him
This was a solid interview but I wish Envy and Charlamagne would do more research on these guests before having them up here. The situation with Lil Tjay not wanting to fly the girl back home was actually Rubi Rose who is actually a famous rapper herself. And the situation he mentioned he was “bothered by” , he was actually talking about 6ix9ine clowning him for selling 18k first week on a mixtape. Had they knew that prior to the interview, I think there would’ve been some viral clips from this interview just by Tjay talking about those artists. Mind you I barely listen to Tjay and I knew about those events. With some research on him, you would’ve asked him about the tension with him and ABoogie too. This is the biggest platform for any artists to come to so it would be more valuable to not only the network but the audience to make sure every important topic gets covered especially the controversial ones. It would make for a better interview.
This is why i say power & the other radio stations need to hire younger personalities who know these artists. Cuz envy & Charlamagne are over 40. They won’t know unless someone else put them on
I appreciate TJay's honesty, integrity, and the heart felt nature of his music. It's reassuring and gives me hope for the new generation when I hear a new cat that actually has a flow and lyrics.
I dont think he's the type to be on the drama type shit like nba youngboy and more etc....He seems like a wise young man but niggas let him down because of his voice or whatever
He should cause that music been playing throughout the whole nyc, not just the Bronx but the whole nyc knew who lik that was so for him to say that n he’s suppose to be New York base is just like damn, you purposely didn’t wanna Acknowledge him or soemthing
He’s so right about the girl that grows up and went to college and got her virginity taken, compared to the girl that had sex at a younger age! I just keep commenting, but man I like this young man more from his intelligence, opposed to his music! He deserved a longer interview! It took me until I was 29-30 years old to realize jail wasn’t for me, and I was going to placement at the age of 11 to juvenile to county, to prison a few times anywhere in the world! He really has a old head mindframe! A smart old head! His family must be old spirits, mom must have had him when she was older!
New York was poppin musically in the early 2000s when Lil Tjay was born from Nas stillmatic, Diplomats was on the rise, styles P killin it, Jadakiss, Fab, Fat joe.. and Ja rule and JayZ ayooo Charlamagne on one and I’m from Cali
Yea but by the time T Jay was grown enough to understand what was going on musically NY had faded. Thats what Charlamagne meant. Im from NY by the way and you forgot to mention 50 and G Unit. Plus Rocafella.
@@jman1562001 Wdym? there has never been a year in the history of hiphop that there wasn’t a prominent artist from New york with nationalal acclaim from the Jay Zs to 50 cents to Camrons to Asap rockys
@@FWMisc-x01 in the mid to late 2000s....there was a shift more southern rappers getting more burn at radio these are facts. Jay and nas by then were elder statesmen. Kiss fab joe busts also were og with hits, but let's keep it a buck, a shift had already was in motion. Unless you want to count MIMS lol.....This is why I'm Hot was when I knew things really were not the same. And rocky even had southern based style and slang. He blew up outside of NYC. He didn't get that type of love from the hometown like say dipset or 50 cent
I jus hate how they knew literally nothing bout Tjay. How tf Charlemange say the first Tjay song he heard was Calling My Phone? Jus show mfs sleep on Tjay 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Charlamagne has a habit of being ill prepared for interviews. Like, what do you mean you never heard of lil Tjay or "mood swings" before, when it was on the top 10 chart for months? Do your job and prep for your interviews! If not, give your spot up to another young, hungry, interviewer. How does Charlamagne work in New York at radio station and not know who Lil Tjay is? This is the problem with New York entertainment. Get people from New York or Tri state area to do these jobs, and who really want to put on for the city! Charlamagne needs to go back down south, where he is from, because he is out of the loop!
U can’t get mad if the niqqa not poppin an charlemane never heard of him...hell tbh they jus be throwin random niqqas up there cuz they need pepo, where they real rappers at
Good interview,it’s always interesting to see things from a kids perspective and understand their views rather than preaching to them cause some of them aren’t going to listen to your advice anyways lol.
I'm proud of the way he thinks at a young age, in a generation like this one. You have one life to live, the most important thing to remember, is how important it is to understand that you only get one in a lifetime ❤️
