Yachtys lyrical ability has been slept on forever. Some of the deep cuts on his albums are criminally underrated.

Yachty is the comeback story of the century in rap, in my mind. And I’m loving every minute of it. Releasing one of the best albums of the year in a whole different genre, showing his rap skills have improved tenfold over the years, and still releasing tracks this year that all have been excellent.

The fact that Yachty is confident and open enough to do and release tracks with JID and J Cole says how unafraid he is of the criticism. Hopping on tracks with rappers of that caliber is something a TON of rapper won’t do because they are afraid of being out shine. Yachty is embracing the high level and learning. I felt the same when I first heard this back when it cam out, Yachty shook me out my J's with the style switchup lol

My top three for new generation rappers.. (they really middle gen, not old school but not really new either) is yatchy, jid, and tyler the creator. My reasoning: Yatchy is just really intertaining to listen too, what he lacks in technical skill he makes up for in charisma. He's one of the very few big rappers that are out here just havin fun with it. i can always expect something entertaining with him. Tyler got the most influence between the three and is lowkey a genius when it comes to song structure/concept and just making music in general, his understanding of music composition is insane, also ridiculously versatile. jid is just a genius with words, easily the most talented lyracist out of the three, there are very few that can go bar for bar with jid. Also every one of these artists kinda mirror their predecessors. Yachty to drake. Tyler to kanye. Jid to j cole (i don't include kendrick in the top three convo cause it would almost be insulting. kendrick is so much more than a rapper, it doesn't seem right to put him on any kind of list, making comparisons)
