Get tickets to see the ANASTASIA tour: www.broadway.com/shows/anasta... You don't want to miss Lila Coogan's performance as Anya in the ANASTASIA tour!
yep it is, cause Anastasia (in the cartoon movie) did raise her hands by the end of this song lol.. its kinda part of the role they are portraying too 😉
lila has more of the youthful/determined/slightly reckless feeling from the movie whereas christy draws on the more dreamy and emotional side. i love them both
I saw her on tour. She's a vocal powerhouse as Anya. If you get the opportunity to see the touring cast. Please DO IT. Notable performances from Lila in Anastasia (imo): this, In My Dreams, Quartet at the ballet
Kevin James Machado I’m enchanted! I would like to take my granddaughter but not west coast dates. Hopefully they’ll add some! Especially with this delightful one playing Anya!
@@emeraldcity7150 I saw her last night too, and ya her performance of "in my dreams" gave me the chills it was so good. The whole tour cast is just amazing.
I saw her the opening week of the tour and she was very impressive and funny! I really recommend seeing her live, she’s so in tune with Anya and everyone in the cast when she’s on stage.
Manuel Orozco It was fantastic! We were on the top tier and brought binoculars and it was awesome! Being able to see the actors up close and their facial expressions was amazing. Vlad and Lily stole the show! The projections and the costumes were epic!
Oh I loved it when I saw the show! She seems super sweet. :) Vlad and Lily definitely stole the show -- the whole theatre was cracking up! I think I missed the cast at the stage door though because it took me a while to find the door oops... :/
@@lovefromisabel9223 Yeah, it took us quite a while, asking multiple people and wandering around. My sister was really upset because she wanted to meet the guy who played Gleb (she even said hubba hubba and reached her arm out for the binoculars whenever he came on). We eventually found it though, and we got to meet Stephen and Lila, and the other cast members, I even got to meet the actress who played Lily. I totally mistook one person for another character though, and I was SO EMBARASSED.
I love her voice so much, but I can't help but compare her to Christy. Not because of looks or anything. Her voice has a lot less structure and uniformity, but is so much stronger. Either way, this chick is perfect for the tour. Might see them in Memphis this Summer too.
We just saw Lila start in the Anastasia tour today; it was world-class and Broadway caliber. Such a privilege to get to watch her and the phenomenal supporting cast !!
i was at the greenville show on the last night and i can’t count the times i cried. it’s my dream to be an actor on broadway or just do movies or tv shows and i just thought about how that could be me one day. thank you so much for being such an inspiration for me❤️
She is so much better live. Lila and Christy can't be compared because their styles are so different, but Lila certainly portrays Anya wonderfully. Her version of 'In My Dreams' is so magical. Definitely go see her.
I don’t know how many times I’ve watched this omg I love her so much. I saw her in the show and honestly I want the album with her singing I think she’s so freaking gooooood
i just saw her last night on tour for a school field trip, she has amazing vocals and if you get the chance i really recommend seeing the tour shows if you can.
What a beautiful voice. Today I went yo see "Anastasia" and I thought Anya was Lea Solonga. What a surprise when I found out that her name is Lila Coogan. She is an excellent singer. I wish her many successes.
I literally only bought tickets because of Christy. I mean this girl is great, no doubts about that... but Christy gave me goosebumps! I literally cried at the end of it. I don’t really feel much of an emotion with this girl.
Agreed, but her live version is SO much better. This version isn't very heartfelt, but live is so much more beautiful. She certainly portrays Anya differently, but it's still wonderful.
Well, I just saw her live a few days ago and I can say that she has an extremely strong voice. She can definitely hit those high notes and sings more of them from the back of her throat than Christy does. It's a different singing style. With all that said, I think I prefer Christy's a little more. When she hits the high notes, she sings them softly, which makes her singing more gentle on the ears. The thing with Lila's singing(and talking) is that it kind of made me feel like I was listening to her shouting quite a bit by the time the show was over. Her acting is also maybe slightly over-exaggerated and not quite as natural as I was hoping. That's not to say that she did terrible because, overall, it was still enjoyable.
@@manuelorozco7760 that is very true when I first looked at dates all I saw for CA location was San Fran until I checked yesterday. So who knows. You should see it at the Pantages and Costa Mesa if you can. I plan on seeing it in San Fran and the Pantages myself.
She sounds amazing. Like in excited to see her when she comes to Texas. BUTT... It seems like she’s singing without music and they places the music afterwards. Isn’t that what they did to Stephen?? The guy who plays Dmitry when he sang my Petersburg?? ((I probably got the name wrong lol))
I was literally scrolling through the comments looking for this one XD I was wondering if i was the only who noticed that this video's editing is weird. The music is too low and the transitions from camera to camera is not well done. It kinda feels like whoever was editing couldn't meet their deadline so they rushed it. But besides that, Lila's voice is amazing!!
She’s got it now. I saw her Sunday. She’s playing more into the determined side of anya as opposed to christys dreamy side. Personally I like Lila more which I might get hate for but I do like them both. She’s sooooo good live. She’s so strong sounding and her belt is incredible (healthy and not forced) she’s AMAZING
lauren sykes I just came back from seeing her...and I have to disagree. She was taking her time with the music, but in some parts she was taking it so slow that it felt like it was dragging. And the acting was just ok for me 😞. Not terrible, but felt kind of forced. Never believed any real emotion,
I think Lila has such a strong singing voice that does justice to the role but when I watched her on tour, I felt that she was overacting which distracted me from the story and took away from the believability of some of the scenes. I hope she continues to work that out. Vlad and Countess Lily as a pair were hilarious and stole the night for me and my friends.
Great performance but I feel like they needed to add a bit of reverb to her mic, especially with a big song like that. Sounds a bit dry and enclosed in my opinion. But she did an amazing job!
