I must have watched this video a hundred or more times since it’s release early last month. I’ve watched all the Reaction videos and I think everyone agrees this is the best cover of Heaven And Hell ever. Melody is such a great performer. She’s so much more than her incomparable voice. Her movements make the lyrics stand out so much more than just words alone. Fabulous Video. I’ve seen them all, this is my new favorite.
If you can see them live , do it ! I have been to many of their shows and it still blows my mind ! When they do covers they don't mess around . They take on the best most iconic songs and kill it . Vinny Apicce gave Melody the nickname MeloDio . I think he knows what he is talking about considering all the time he spent with Dio . And their original music is like the best of the classic era modernized . I was one of those people stuck in the past thinking all new music was horrible , until i found Liliac ! They work hard , rock hard and are the nicest , kindest family . There will be a music video for an original song soon , and a cover song that most singers would avoid , except Melody ! RORH !
I also was stuck on my Classic Rock, Steve, being that I started my rock concert journey in 1969 with Iron Butterfly. So, hearing Liliac on RU-vid (first song was "Enter Sandman") about 3 years ago, was such a fantastic surprise to see these kids and have them blow my mind. It's been such a thrill watching them grow into their own and increasingly surprise us. Steve, to me, this is a shining example of Melody's vocals getting more mature and smoother in between the grit. Still the "crushed diamonds on velvet" but add some butter in that mix. lol RORH
Thanks for the reaction fellas, I always appreciate LILIAC! They tour pretty much the entire U.S. , They live in Douglasville Ga. Another hot rendition they did is I HATE MYSELF FOR LOVIN YOU! Anyway, thanks again! ✌️ From Texas!
If they are performing at a venue near you, do yourself a favour and go see them, you won't be disappointed . They are based out of Georgia originally from LA and this concert tour is the latest of many that have taken them all over the USA. This tribute cover has only been out since just before Christmas and has over 845,000 veiws ,so they must be doing something right . FANG4LIFE RORH
Good call on Dio. RJD is her hero. A couple of years ago, Wendy Dio asked them to do a version of Last in Line for the Dio cancer benefit, and it's pretty awesome. Vinny Appice gave them an unreleased version of it to do and they learned it (and killed it) in a week. Worth checking out.
yeah Melo has a great voice and Ronnie James was her hero and her big influence when she was younger. Yeah they killed this cover and there getting better as they get older, for sure. RO&RH. Yes they moved from California to Georgia
Melody always does dio justice. Their covers are great, their originals are even greater. Try madness , carousel, vertigo, and sailaway. They live in Douglasville ga right now and they've recently signed with TKO and will be doing some festivals and will be opening for several bands including John 5 and jelly roll
Their catalog of covers is huge, and there's not one I've heard that I didn't like, and their stack of originals is getting up there now, too. You're right about their current trajectory. They're doing a lot of original stuff, but they know they became established playing covers for old school rockers, and they keep throwing out bones to that segment of the fan base and doing great covers. I don't see that changing from everything Papa Liliac has said about their development. They just released the original video for Rise Up, and they're about to release their cover of Dream On. Personally, I love seeing them mix it up that way.
You might want to check out their original Mars (live in Cumming, GA) which begins with a killer solo by Sam. Not Afraid is another live performance that’s worth watching. They are touring all over the US this year. They originally lived in the LA area and moved near Atlanta a few years ago.
That's understandable since she has been in the biz for many years. So since Melody is still a "novice" if you will, she can only get better and better and give Lzzy a run for her money. BTW when Lzzy heard the band do "Last In Line" for the benefit, she praised Melody a lot. Melody even got to interview her on the Vinny and Carmen show. RORH
And three albums of originals. Remember they started performing at a young age, Sam the older was seventeen and Justin the youngest was eight. It would be highly unusual to start writing and composing music at that age. Doing covers allowed them to get used to performing live, improve their skills and eventually they did start writing. If you haven’t you should check their original material.
