My oldest son and I was at the show in St.Peters,Mo. From the moment they started the show with this song their energy never slowed down. All of us didn't want them to stop. IMHO Melody is in a league of her own, and so is Sam, Abi, Eathan and Justin. RORH!!!!

Saw them in Denver..2nd row and for this 61 yr old classic rocker I couldn’t get the smile off my face. It was a smile I had back in the 70’s n 80’s during the greatest musical decades ever. Top notch show and the dudes n dudettes are a force to be reckoned with for years to come..ROCK ON N ROCK HARD👊😎🤘

I have been to see Liliac three times at the Blue Note just outside of Cincinnati Ohio. I'm 58 years old I've seen Randy Rhoads, Eddie Van Halen, George Lynch, Yngwie Malmsteen and many more live. Sam is right up there with them. The meet and greats they do you realize they are ego free and just great people. Papa Liliac is a person everyone should meet, he is incredible. God bless the entire family!

The whole band performs this song consistently every show...this extended live version. If only the sound systems at all the venues could handle Melody's voice...some did, some didn't. But all LILIAC Fangs that can, should see them live to really appreciate their talent. Melody not only sings, but engages the audience to clap, jump, scream, and sing along all night! No one stands, or sits, still on the stage. Are the Fangs entertained? If you judge by the long lines to get autographs and photos with the band after the show, then the answer is YES.

Saw them in PA and the sound system didn't do Melody any favors. I know it's not their philosophy to do so, but I almost wish they'd latch on to a national tour as a backup band to a major act - a top sound system and sound geared to them... it would draw in legions of fangs.

Abby said in a interview that Stuart Copeland from the police came up with the melody of this song during a BBC special he was doing that featured liliac busking at the pier. Melody screams are out of the world, and Sam is a true master now. There are several fang recordings of live shows from the moonlight tour they are completing now. Papa said in a recent interview that BTE is finalizing the details on a 2023 European tour. Since writing this post I've learned this was incorrect Stewart came up with some drum fills

I watched a Papa Liliac blog today (Sept 17, 2022) and he put an end to the Stuart Copland rumor that he came up with the melody of the song. Stuart got to play the drums with them and told them to play a song. So they played a song they had written, Not Afraid. Stuart was told to play a shuffle beat on the drums -- that was it. Other than getting to jam with the band, he added nothing to their song. I think people must have misunderstood what Abby was saying or it is a rumor that just got spread around.

I just knew you'd like this one its absolutely fangtastic , apparently they start all their shows with this song , if so , and they put that much energy into the rest of the concert they must be fangtabulous to attend . I'm more biased than you could ever be and I think their the best band in a long long time . I saw Liliac at the 2022Iowa State Fair in August. Definitely an epic event! I got there early to get as close as possible and sat next to an 82 year-old man who was also a die hard "fang for life" A very memorable night for all of us!😃

I saw them in July and I expected a lot, but they were beyond fangtastic and I found out the next day that Melody and Justin was not feeling well during the show but I couldn't tell and Melody was all over the place what a show! The thing about Liliac during Live shows is their energy is always at maximum and they never let up and the fact that they care about their fans and take the time to get them involved or speak with them. That is why they are one of the top Live bands in the business and yet quite unknown. I saw them in Feb and they opened with this song, it was a great concert.

I saw them in Pittsburgh in July and they brought the house down! There were 2 opening bands who were incredible but when Liliac came out everything went up about 3 notches. They are amazing and one of the best bands I've ever seen and I've been seeing bands since 1967. I do wish the audio live was a little better but it wasn't bad. There were license plates from all over the U.S. in the parking lot.

They opened this last tour with this song and I was amazed at how much more powerful the song was live, compared to the album version (Which still friggin rocked) I'm guessing the crowd energy that drove this opening number had a lot to do with them "re-vamping" it and making an incredible video out of show footage. On a side note, I saw them in July and they were humble and kind to all of the fans. All around great people!

Ok, so, in my opinion, NOBODY can do what Melody can do. She can hold her own (as well as any of her siblings) with ANYONE in music today. This band is a force to be reckoned with. I said what I said.

William, your absolutely right!!! And they just get better as time goes by!!! Thier versatile, innovative, crisp. And clean in the delivery!! I've followed them really close now for 4 1/2 years now, and I'm just AMAZED at how well they have progressed!!! I listen to quite a few other bands and trying to find others who deliver as well as LILIAC, But as of now I haven't come across the power and genuine energy they bring! Not knocking other bands out there at all! But in my opinion it's these guy's I'd like to listen to or given the chance I'd go to see live!

Haha, I knew when I saw this was released 4 days ago that the first people who needed to know were you two. I sent a link as soon as I watched it. Don't know if you used it but I thought of you first as I know how you love these kids. This song is fire but I still feel like Sail Away is their "Masterpiece" thus far. Don't get me wrong, I'm a rivethead and prefer a harder metal vibe and "Not Afraid" fits the bill, but Sail Away is an Epic and Unforgetable song. That said, I love every song by these kids. Their versatility and diversity are unmatched right now IMO. Keep up the great work with your channel. I spend an hour on it every day. Peace and Be Well !!!

Hi you beautiful two, glad to finally see your Reaction. I have a huge grin on my face from watching it. And their anti-fans call them a "cover band" HA!! BTW, to me, Sam's solo is so chilling, that you'd think he was a veteran guitar player playing at a stadium. The whole video just looks like I'm watching a pro rock band. Next year, is going to be exciting I think. I noticed that at the end, with Sam doing that ending riff, reminded me of how bands used to end their songs LIVE. Ethan is now up there with some of the better Bass players with his plucking his 5 string!!! In July I finally got to see them LIVE and I was front row, on Sam's side. They opened with this song and from her very first scream, til the very last song; I, as an old rocker who started watching rock concerts in 1969 (Iron Butterfly), was gobsmacked. When I went out of the venue, I was speechless. Papa stopped us outside and asked what we thought and I told him I was amazed and couldn't even describe it. He smiled from ear to ear. I'm hoping they make it overseas and give you two a chance to see them as well. #RORH

G,day Cristie IF they do travel on a world tour , that would mean a possible trip down under to Australia hopefully , then like you I'd finally get to see them live . I get what you mean about your euphoria after your first rock concert I felt the same way about my first concert in the early 60s it was the BEATLES on tour and although you literally couldn't hear them from all the girls (and a few boys ) screaming it was an experience I'll never forget and led me to attend dozens more concerts over the decades . It rocks, it rolls. Liliac just gets better. Ethan was great on guitar, but moved to bass. But it would be great to see them all switch around. Abigail played accordion long ago, Ethan on guitar, Melody on bass, Sam on lead vocals and Justin on guitar. They are SO talented.

Harry and Sharlene, my two MOST favorite reactors... I haven't seen you two for a few minutes... I always enjoy your reactions to whatever you review. But Liliac, I started watching their videos when Florin was posting their shows from the Santa Monica Pier. "Not Afraid" isn't exactly a NEW song, but has definitely been reworked. And Melody's vocals have always been the star, even when she was behind the bass guitar. Now that she's the dedicated front person, she has obviously blossomed. I also find it interesting that all of them have put on weight, not exactly a good look; but that's life on the road. I'm looking forward to following Liliac around the world in the future. I hope you get to see them live in South Africa, and anywhere else you may be able to travel. Love you guys, keep the reactions coming.

You guys cam go back and check out the other Original (Lyric) Only video of this when their EP "Chain Of Thorns" came out so you can compare the live version to the other one just for your selves. There are a lot of of their Originals you haven't heard yet before their new 2 LP comes out.

Ok so i have been popping around for awhile checking out Liliac’s youtubes and finally found this one, and its live and myyyyyy goodness Melody lol .. love it , i was drawn to Liliac from some sending youtubes of Holy Diver and such, they all know i loved Ronnie James Dio .. and i ended up loving several of there originals, i am lil sappy on power ballads too thier original Sail Away gets a thumbs up ... Unfortunately not getting into a big label contract might hinder some big gigs and really big crowd stages .... but I totally applaud them for going the tough Independent road with that ... the power of the internet and over a million fans and growing, several of my friends teach music in 3 different countries... we love em

I want to say I haven't experienced them live as yet.. but seeing videos like this .. ok, yeah I have. There doesn't seem to be more of the Georgia concert that a couple of their videos came out of, which is sad. That said, they really need a live album. Ok, *I* need a live album from them. They are going to be putting out a live album here very shortly. They are doing a showvon the 27th in Georgia at the "MetLife" they are setting up 5 video cameras and fore people that are there will be getting on film just sayin "Woodstock - Georgia also also they will be joined by "Aiden Fisher" from the show "Stranger Things" the show on Netflix where behind the scenesxhe played "Master Of Puppets" for the actor he is a child prodigy on the guitar this will be the first time Liliac will be playing this song live along with him.

Wow, Justin and Ethan have grown up and look so much taller, it is good they finally began recording new songs. Sam reminds me so much of George Lynch from Dokken in the style he plays. Harry and Sharlene I would love to hear your reaction to Liliac's song Dancing in the Dark. It's my favorite song by them. The video is awesome and the song is one of their very best. @@tonyb888 have just watched two live versions on RU-vid and pretty good but not close to the studio version. Of course, if live, you get caught up in the moment and ignore imperfections. In fact that's the whole point of a live performance that it is never the same twice.
