Your visit with her was awesome, I could tell how much it meant to see her in real. It’s so sad , she was an awesome ambassador for the breed. I can’t imagine how poor Kevin and the whole team are feeling.

This is so heartbreaking, the wonderful life of Lilith shall be celebrated as I weep and mourn for Kevin; cherishing all the good experiences and memories Lilith has brought us all. 💙💙💙

@@blackdong4footwangnosuckythat was meaning that it felt like someone stabbed him in the heart and broke the blade off in it. In other words he was just overwhelmingly heart broken and it stuck with him.

@@PKBitchGirl Those are exceptions rather than the norm. There are _very few_ animal species that live as long or longer than humans and can be kept as pets/in captivity compared to the number of animal species that don't.

I will never believe snakes are normal pets that cobra didn’t give two shts about him he just brought her food she would’ve bit him just as quickly as anyone else reptiles aren’t pets like a normal pet like a dog or cat.

My father too has gout, I didn't know some of these facts that Kevin pointed out. I saved this video for reference killing was so beautiful, I've never seen an albino cobra , she was a rare one. Didn't know that the heart and bait is connected. And I didn't know it is a hereditary disease.. KNOW I know.

Sometimes it shocks me how ignorant people are. You really didn’t know about edema? It’s connection to heart disease? Gout and uric acid build up? Often connected to fatty rich foods high in uric acid like chicken liver and such? Which is why gout was called the “kings disease” or the “disease of royalty.” I guess common knowledge isn’t so common is it. I mean you are probably all of average intelligence and you are dumb as bricks. Not trying to offend… Just saying. Lol. Which just goes to show how dumb and ignorant average people and therefore most people are.

My dad had kidney issues that effected his heart. They are frequently involved with each other during health issues. My father also had gout as a human.

Literally any other king cobra keeper would have been better....🙄 people that aren’t in the hobby/lifestyle just don’t understand...

@@sk8rat86 I’m curious as to why you think so? The vets said it wasn’t his fault and there was nothing they could do, so I really don’t think it was his fault by any means. But why do you think he was a bad keeper for her? Not tryna start shit, I don’t know much about cobra care specifically and haven’t heard anything bad about this guy ever, and I’m just curious

@@SwoopENT I think it was a mix of both. I think she was suffering for awhile especially towards the end, but he did take good care of her. How were they to know? Snakes are so good at hiding their pain and clearly everything seemed fine, and when she clearly showed issues they did something every time.

@@guytrashgurtdog515 right. she may have suffered due to at the time, unknown health issues, however his care obviously brought her comfort enough where she became docile despite her health issues. I hope his heart can heal some day. She's irreplaceable but he has memories.

I couldn’t agree more. I’m a huge dog person, and I’m super into ethical breeding and dog genetics. The dog show world/reputable breeders are really trying to crack down on unethical mixes such as the “designer dogs” like labradoodles, cockapoos, goldendoodles, and all the other doodles and other mixes and off standard purebreds and making literally everything “Merle” or “teacup” or “XXL”, because of all of the health and temperament issues and genetic unpredictability that comes with them. Breed standard for the most part exists for a reason, if you deviate from that standard it often causes health and temperament issues. Not to mention how unhealthy mixing breeds is. Get a rescue if you want a mix or off standard purebred, if you can handle all the work a rescue may need. But I think it’s similar with reptiles, we’re so worried about looks that we’re breeding animals that are suffering. And all because they look pretty. Is it really worth it? There’s so many gorgeous and healthy different types of reptiles and morphs, why not just breed those?

@@guytrashgurtdog515 you are so correct, everyone focuses on Outbreeding Enhancements aka "Hybrid Vigor" but ignore the consequences of Outbreeding Depression which only gets worse with every successive generation which sometimes the effects don't express themselves until after a couple of generations so it's hard to know how bad it can be at first or even with young offspring. If anything that means we should be more attentive and cautious with hybridization. You bring up a very good point about temperament too, that is hereditary and honestly in my opinion, when it comes to snakes and potentially dangerous animals is far more important of a trait to breed than colors and patterns.

@@NeuKrofta I couldn’t agree more. I’m so tired of outbreeding and this “hybrid vigor” myth. With dogs, it’s not even a “hybrid” so that doesn’t make sense, they’re the same species, just two different breeds.

Frankly I don't understand how people can claim they love animals, while deliberately breeding for mutations that cause the animals pain and suffering.

I lost a four year old bearded dragon to retained eggs. She'd never been with a male and never showed anything but sass. Then one day she was gone. At necropsy, the vet said it was strange. It looked like she had started to produce follicles, then stopped. They were partially resorbed, and necrotic. Never knew, and the vet said he didn't have an explanation. I wish they were easier to read also.

I understand I’ve lost two wonderful snakes to reasons none can explain (though they were both still babies and I did get them from petsmart and petco) a sweet king snake I named Antiope, and a green tree python who was suffering throughout the short time I had her, it was so hard to watch even though I didn’t fully understand, she was aggressive but I just thought that was normal for a GTP as well as her urinating on me, though she never pooped. The problem was she never ate we tried everything to help her feed but she wouldn’t, she couldn’t. I remember the day she passed I had just held her that morning and was then working on school when my mom walked in and looked in her tank and just said in shock “the snake is dead.”, I remember not believing her but then I walked over and saw, it was one of the hardest moments I’ve been through and I messed up so much, and I mean in ways of overwhelming her, I feel awful now she barely had and relaxing time I was so excited to have her and thought it’d get better, I remember “showing her off” to my neighbors I took her outside, I feel absolutely awful thinking back on that memory, animals no matter what they are how ugly or beautiful they look, are not objects and I never once considered her an object, but looking back I see my errors and obliviousness. I now have another green tree python as well as a ball python. I’ve had the ball python (Luna) for 5 years now I love her so much and she’s so sweet but whenever she smells even a bit of mice she’s crawling all over her tank, she sure loves to eat. My GTP (Gamora) I’ve had them for maybe 2-3 years now, we’ve been very careful helping them grow, giving them what they need, and respecting that when the animal obviously does not want to be held and you have no reason to be handling them RESPECT their feelings.

I wonder about this too. I really hope my crested geckos aren’t in distress.

She was amazing. I subbed bc of her too but when she was still alive. I have 6 snakes and other reptiles, I'm obsessed with snakes. They're some of the most interesting and beautiful creatures out there.

This is true. When they were talking about the others of the same as Lillith that were born and died so young, I was surprised she'd lived so long. I knew she lived longer than most of her type, but the fact that she made it for so long given everything definitely means Kevin did everything correctly to line up her chances until he just couldn't anymore. She was very lucky to have him.

I’m sorry for your loss. I recently lost my axolotl and one of my bettas. Just because these animals don’t have fur doesn’t make them any less of your family.

@@patchtheservicebear5325 I wholly agree. Speciesism is something we, as humans, need to bring more awareness to. Fish can feel pain, snakes can get attached to others, even insects can build bonds. There's so much we don't yet know about other species and assuming so much as many humans do, is just bad. Us being some of the first sentient lifeforms on this planet* doesn't mean we are, or will be, the only ones to be "in charge" of others' fates. *fixed typo damn phone
