I honestly think that acro is Abby’s favorite style. She always gave it to her favorites. Brooke, McKenzie, Kalani, Brynn. Even though Maddie got lyrical, there were lots of acro elements in her dances. This trio is even called The Favorite and has Lily as the lead. I think Abby meant this as a compliment and wanted this trio to win over the other one.
@@weirdo2123 JoJo wasn't Abby favourite at the time. She said at the time that she believed that JoJo could be a huge hit and she would do that for her.
Well I can understand that as a mother she might feel responsible for her daughter growth problems since she was a premature baby . She must feel horrible and is trying to make her daughter feel like she is just like everybody else . I dont think it's a height issue more like the repercussions of a little girl medical history.
I don’t really think it’s anything to do with her age really it’s Stacey’s insecurity about lilliana’s height and size.she thinks because she’s smaller she’s going to get the more immature dances and never be able to live to her full potential.
Nobody even knew that. (Well, not a lot of people know but... yeah. I think people only remember that Maddie is the star. Again, another kid in Maddie's shadow).
little songbird I don’t think she hated acro I think she just wanted it to be more advanced and to dance with people her age which is understandable (have a good day and please stay safe :)
Actually, most of her solos were acro-lyrical. So instead of being up beat and fun, like some of Mackenzie's solos, they were slow and graceful. She also did a lot more contortion tricks, which judges find a lot more difficult.
Umm Lilly is acting like a spoiled brat! Abby started Maddie's, Career, Kenzie's, Chloe's, Even Nia. So Maddie got most of the exposure but fact they all had their start and Abby knows what she is doing.
That's because Mackenzie didn't complain or anything. Melissa didn't mind either cuz... Maddie is her favorite. But in this situation it's much more different because Stacey thinks that Lilly is gonna do acro solos all her life just because Lilliana is short
I dont think she was really into dancing or that she wasnt that advance because she never had big kid dances she really only did cutesy dances and she was mostly into singing not dancing
The things Stacy says gives a good insight into exactly what she's thinking. "Everybody else gets to grow up, except for her, and now she can't do normal stuff because she's little. So she's gonna be a clown for the rest of her life." Knowing that Lilly has to take growth hormone shots, it's very clear to me that her stature is a very personal issue to both mother and daughter. I'm not saying that I condone some of the behaviours her mother is expressing (as a competitive dance teacher and choreographer myself I probably would've had the same reaction as Abby and Gia, honestly) but I think that Lilly and Stacy are both very afraid of Lilly being type-casted and never being able to move on from that. When a student works hard it's not wrong for them to want a little praise or recognition, and it would probably hurt a lot to never be given the opportunity to grow and mature like everyone else around you. Yes, Lilly will have an advantage as she gets older in the industry because she looks younger than she is (a director or choreographer would much prefer to work with a dancer that looks young but has the mind and mannerisms of somebody much older rather than trying to work with a child who is age-accurate and nothing more) and she will get longevity in her career because of it, but I think it's a little different because Lilly has an actual medical condition. She has gorgeous lines and technique (especially for her age), but will she ever be viewed the same way as another dancer with longer limbs such as Brynn Rumfallo or Kalani Hilliker? Even her musicality can suffer because of this; Lyrical, Contemporary, and Ballet (which are often seen as the most mature and technically difficult styles) all require great control and flexibility. But when your limbs are too short every movement will seem rushed because it doesn't take as long for the body to complete the movements. Something as simple as a high kick can look vastly different depending on the length of the legs. I'm sure this has been very frustrating for both Lilly and her mother. No matter how had Lilly works, her stature may always get in her way and it's something that they really don't have any control over. I tell my students all the time that life is not fair and that, even if you work as hard as you possibly can, you may never get all of the things you think you deserve. But Lilly's case is especially tragic because she's a dancer. She has a work ethic and talent and maturity far beyond her years, and I think it's truly disheartening for her and her mother to know that a lot of people in the industry may never see past her small stature. I think they both see the show as a chance to get Lilly's name out there before she auditions for a role and is immediately cut without a second glance. If the director or choreographer knows her name, they may take the extra moment to pause and consider her. Getting your foot in the door is half the battle; you can't show what you have to offer if you don't have the opportunity. Sorry for rambling, I just get really passionate about dance and sometimes I can't resist adding my two cents worth! 😂😁
PsychoticRiddle I understand what you are saying but you are making out the kid to be helpless which she isn’t. She looks younger to me but more in the face and not in the limbs. Lily is 4 feet 6 inches which is slightly above the average given her age and sex. She wouldn’t be at a disadvantage compared to other dancers her age. Not to mention, I never saw Kalani as having long limbs but she always made it work. Even Abby commented on her shorter torso and limbs in past episodes. Lily is extremely smart and talented. I have no doubt that she will be fine in the industry if that’s what she truly wants to do (many kids burn out). I personally don’t think painting Lily as this weak and feeble individual does much.
@@jasminejohnson4850 At no point did I paint Lilly as being weak, helpless, or feeble. I said she has a disadvantage in comparison to those who have longer limbs. If you look at videos of Kalani dancing when she was junior age (9-11) she had extremely long arms and legs in comparison to the rest of her body, which helped her develop clean lines and graceful movements in her dancing. I absolutely think that Lilly has more than enough talent and ability to become an outstanding professional dancer, but the truth of the matter is that the dance industry isn't always fair. She may end up being type-casted because of her slightly smaller stature which is clearly something that she and her mother are concerned about. Lilly is an extremely strong technical dancer, which I have already stated, and she is a very mature young lady in both mind and manner. She seems mature beyond her years and her work ethic is second-to-none. My comment was more of a reflection on the hard times that she may face when trying to land a job in the industry. It has nothing to do with her being weak or anything like that, it has everything to do with the fact that the dance industry can be a very harsh and unfair place.
PsychoticRiddle yes, Kalani did have longer limbs when she was younger but as some point she did stop growing as fast hence Abby’s multiple comments about her body type (smaller torso and legs. She even mentioned Kalani having to work harder because of it. I’m just saying I thing using Kalani wasn’t the best example) . I also don’t see how Lilliana is at a disadvantage compared to other dances her age because she is average height and that’s what I was referring to when I mentioned painting her as some type of victim. Lily is fine when it comes to the height and limbs department. I personally see it as a nonissue. Her height isn’t a problem as of now. People keep forgetting she is only 10 and the youngest on the team. Of course she’s going to be smaller than her other teammates. We can agree to disagree because I don’t see a noticeable difference in her limb size compared to any other dancers her age.
@@jasminejohnson4850 Maybe I just see it more because I'm a competitive dance instructor? Who knows, with the growth hormones she may end up at an average height, but only time will tell. The biggest indicator will be when she hits puberty; either the growth hormones will continue to work to the desired specification or they won't. Either way, I think Lilly has a long career ahead of her if that's what she wants, and I hope that she is able to overcome any obstacles that get in her way, whatever they may be.
I never noticed that a dancer who has long limbs executes the moves better than someone who's petite. That's why Abby liked Brynn, Chloe and Paige (in terms of how their bodies looked). She used to say Paige and Chloe were built as dancers. However Brooke was petite and she could still dance well and execute the moves.
Poor Lilly, I think if Stacey didn’t put it in her head so much, she honestly wouldn’t care what type of style she was performing because she’s amazing every time regardless
I understand Lilly so much! I am in seventh grade and I still get treated like a 7 year old! Just brush it if she is not worth your tears! Let’s go Lily!!!❤️❤️
Lmao I’m so sorry but I’m laughing hysterically when Abby yelled at Lily there was some hair on her face that made her look like an angry anime character haha the hair was like giant angry eyebrows look ahahahahaha 🤣
I relate SOOOOO much to what Stacy said about lilli being small I’m 15 and look like I’m 12 it’s hard but she will get through it also she just has to work, act, look, and show everyone she older
Wow her mom makes me feel like lily grew sm like 10 isnt that old! I am not hating i love lily Like i am about to be 13 and i feel like i am 5 years old lol
I’m super proud of lily a lot of the kids from previous seasons were either to scared to talk back to Abby or were rude when they did lily did the right thing by not over reacting as well and keeping her calm
@@elm2908 actually, it caters to what is needed or what's already been choreographed. Take Maddie for example. Not exactly dancing pretty lyricals with Sia now is she? McKenzie is on DWTS doing all styles..
naluboo yea but I guess what I’m trying to say is no matter what style Lilly is dancing, she needs more complexed choreography than what Abby is giving her. Like with your example of mad die dancing with sia, the choreography in chandelier was so much more advanced than anything Abby had given maddie.
@@elm2908 it was only the first week.. I'm sure Lilli will have the opportunity to work with all the styles she's good at. The point I'm trying to make is that producers, choreographers, artists, etc are interested in versatile dancers. I feel like Stacey and Elliana overreacted and were not appreciative with Abby's choreography and the opportunity she was giving for Lilli's image.
naluboo tbh I think that Lilly should leave the ALDC because since season 7 of dance moms finished, she started working hard on her technique and improved so much that she won an yagp title. Same goes for Elli- they are way to skilled to be back at the aldc
They'll have to learn it the hard way just like the OG's did: your kid is not better than the others, they're a team. These moms came in already comparing their kids, Abby is trying to do something different here and they don't help.
I used to be a gymnast and I love to dance I used to do dance classes and then I now play basketball and I love it, follow your dreams , you can be a dancer or a gymnast or a sports player but don’t listen to the haters so just block them out , good luck!!!!!😁
I don’t think Lilly should have been kicked out of the room because she wasn’t being a smartass about it and wasn’t being a smartass with her answer. She was saying what she felt, and she said it respectfully. Abby took it wrong and her saying show that to your ballet school wasn’t the best response.
Stacey... we don't see this is a mockery over lily because she's doing an acrobatic routine. No! Lily is amazing n has mature behave for 10 years old. Don't say that she'll be a clown for the rest of her life. U r too worry about her size. She's one of Abby's favourite.
Ashley took this way out of proportion like saying ‘Stacey thinks Lilliana is too good’ and all that. She clearly stated she felt it immature, not that she was being egotistical.
