LILO & STITCH Is So CUTE! FIRST Time Watching and Movie Reaction!

OH. MY. GOSH. The fact Lilo waited until AFTER the lady told Nani he’d been hit by a truck to say “I like him”… he survived a car accident unlike her parents. She thinks he’d never leave. Especially because she’s feeding Pudge to keep the weather safe on the roads to save everyone. Oh, my heart. 😭

The part that makes me laugh as an adult now is the fact Lilo was so against giving the fish Tuna, but in real life most fish are omnivorous aka eat both meat and plant matter. So Pudge probably wouldn't have minded the switch up. XD Also the fact Jumba knows of Elvis is a fun poke at the conspiracy theory some people people have about Elvis having been abducted by aliens rather than being dead. lol

Watching Lilo & Stitch as an adult, I feel like I sympathize with Nani so much more than any other Disney character lol

They explored the other 625 experiments on the Lilo and Stitch TV show. It was pretty good. I love Experiment 625, aka Reuben - all the abilities that Stitch has, but he prioritizes making and eating sandwiches over destruction. 😂

As a Pacific Islander, even though I wasn’t Hawaiian, this film was the first time I ever felt culturally connected to a movie. It truly changed my whole world to see that as a child, even though it made me terribly homesick. (It’s also just an incredibly well-made movie with probably my favorite art style in all Disney animation!)

Bubbles is an agent of the US about to rip Lilo from her sister and it's shown toward the climax that he also sees that tragedy of what his job is to do to them.

Can we just give mad props to big sis in this movie. She’s young and has to be parent as well as sis. Like damn

This movie has such hidden subtle heartbreak when after Lilo tells the story of her parents dying in a car crash & hints it was because of the rain which is why she feeds Pudge the fish a sandwich every week because he controls the weather

Not sure if you noticed or not, but in the scene where Lilo and Stitch wake up Nani to show her the record player trick, Nani has a bunch of surfing trophies on the shelf in the background. She could’ve had a career as a professional surfer but chose to give up those dreams to take care of Lilo after their parents died.

As a kid, Stitch was my ADHD icon and now Lilo is my Autistic icon and both sides of my neurodiversity love them so much.

I got a fun story related to this movie. So a couple who are longtime friends of ours are army vets and they were stationed in Hawaii when their toddler daughter needed hip surgery. After the surgery, she was in a full lower body cast for a few months and during that time all she could really do was watch movies cuz she was stuck in bed. She loved this film and watched in on repeat so much, the disc actually melted in the player.

When this movie came out, I had absolutely no interest in going to the theater to see it. I was in my early 20's. However it was my cousins turn to pick a movie at the theaters and she picked this* one. I went into the theater wanting it to be over fast and ended up disappointed when it was over. What a freaking cute, fun, beautifully animated film!!!!!

Lilo is obsessed with taking photos of tourists because she wants them to get a taste of their own behavior; always taking pictures of the natives without their permission like they are tourists attractions instead of just people. This explanation got taken out of the movie.

The scene with the spaceship chase through the city was actually redone after the movie was already made. Originally they hijack a plane and chase down Gantu though the city. They changed it because it involved the plane crashing into a building. Right before it was set to be released in theaters, 9/11 happened, and they made the executive decision to delay the release in theaters to reanimate it so now its just a spaceship that LOOKS like a plane.

This movie contains one of the first Easter Eggs I remember discovering in a movie: the papers that Lilo and Nani sign when buying Stitch contain a letter thanking the crew that worked on the movie.

When it comes to the big shark guy, my favorite description of him comes from Movies Explained For ‘Free Willy With a License to Bare Arms.’

I really want to see Lilo and Stitch 2 on here next. Because that is a real tearjerker

This is actually my all time favorite movie (Disney or otherwise). I can watch this multiple times without getting tired of it and when I'm feeling down, I throw this movie on.

Lilo is also heavily damaged herself. She suffers from abandoned child syndrome which is a common illness among children who have lost their parents. She also has a behavioral disorder called intermittent explosive disorder in which she often has outbursts of anger and usually takes it out on her classmates violently. Why is Pudge the fish important? Because of this, Lilo has come to the conclusion that Pudge the fish controls the weather-as he is a fish in water and rain comes from the water- and gives him peanut butter sandwiches so no other kid has to go through what she did. She is cooping with the loss of her dead parents. And this is her only way of being able to express her feelings about this. I read somewhere that she blames herself because on the day she didn't feed the storm happened and her parents died. So, this is why she thinks Pudge the fish controls the weather and it's a sad tale yes. But she has a lot to deal with being a 7-year-old who's being raised by a teenage sister.

I highly recommend watching the other Lilo and Stitch movies, while they aren't to the caliber of this movie, the spirit of it is consistent. The series is also adorable! One of my favorite disney series when I was growing up, my sister and I were obsessed lol. Every year I get or make her something Stitch related

Also this is unconfirmed but an interesting perspective either way, but a lot of people including myself believe Lilo is coded to be autistic, I've seen some very in depth discussions on it and as someone who is neurodivergent it meant a lot to me as a kid to see someone acting the way I did on screen and to see how hard Nani tries with her and how much she loves her no matter what

Meega Naga Queesta means literally “I want to destroy.” It’s a curse that promises to erase all evidence and memory of their existence. Stitch’s designer also made Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon. And now that I said that, you can see the similar heads and bodies in your mind. “Star Wars in a Disney animated movie.” Technically Disney, but Toy Story 1-2. I can tell you’re watching this in Disney+. The movie got 2 censors, one for theaters and one for Disney+. Theaters cut Jumba stealing a Boeing 747 and using a curved building to make the turn, replacing it with a spaceship and a canyon. Streaming cut Lilo hiding in a dryer by replacing it with a pizza box. The lei, if I remember right, is made with a calming fragrance flower. Stitch is molecularly dense. That’s why the aliens were excited for him to drown, they knew. Lilo blames herself for her parent’s death. She didn’t feed Pudge a sandwich the night they went for a drive. There are jokes about Elvis being an alien. Or Jumba listened along as Lilo did her Elvis Impersonation tactic. Fun fact: Lilo and Stitch had multiple movies, an anime, and a cartoon that crossed over with Kim Possible, American Dragon Jake Long, Recess, and The Proud Family.

I got hamster last year and named him stitch.. and I’m 22😂 I just felt like lilo being lonely and a lil crazy and I’m living on my own, and since I feel like a hamster is like the most random pet to get a college student I thought stitch was the appropriate name😄 this movie brings back so many fond memories and I absolutely loved this as a kid😍

I love the series exploring the other 625 Stitches. Disney should have a rerun of that series

Lilo and stitch growing up watching it in theaters was pretty cool and it’s an overall great Disney classic film, if you’re gonna be watching Disney classic films I suggest you watch the sword in the stone, a Disney classic and at the same time fun to watch and laugh highly recommend it!!!!

One of my favourite Disney films. The watercolour backgrounds are gorgeous and Lilo was definitely a comfort character. Lilo is EXTREMELY autistic coded and thats why she's bullied by the other students. She has special interests (photography, elvis etc.) and has meltdowns when being overstimulated (the scene where she screams and lays face down on the floor). She doesnt fully understand that lying to Cobra would get her taken away. The reason Lilo is worried about her offerings to Pudge is because she believes the fish is a deity that controls the weather and that offerings will stop Nani from being taken away like her parents. This is honestly one of my favourite Disney films, but I wish they had kept in the original scene that showed how tourism effects Hawaii

It’s hard to choose a favorite Disney movie but I think for live action musical movies high school musical is my #1 fav. I think you’d like the Disney movie called Rip Girls. It takes place in Hawaii and a girl named Sydney inherited some land from her mum or grandmother think I don’t remember who left it to her but it’s basically her figuring out if she wants to sell it to this company to turn into a hotel or something or keep it. You need to see Dick Tracy (1990)! It’s a colorful comic strip movie, with a score by Danny Elfman, and songs by Stephen Sondheim, which are performed by Madonna! 😎 Hugely underrated!

We never seen Angel's blood taken by sample, but when I was a kid I thought Stitchie and Angel's inside mouth colours are the same until I read a fan years ago who made Angel with someone having same purple inside mouths like 627, I was shocked in disbelief, because it say Angel's mouth is purple like 627, but I don't get it the reason how Angel not having the same mouth colour like Tickle-Tummy, her mouth is red like Angel's mate.
