Previous video used 2mm diameter copper discs to extend the carbon brushes but the commutator was damaged and so it didn't always start. An attempt was made to repair it using sticky back copper foil (not plastic!) but that failed due to glue problems and trying to solder to the thin copper. This video shows how the engine could be rebuilt.
