Tbf, I think that's just cutscene shenanigans, there are other instances of ID-switching mid-cutscene, such as with the end of Canto 5, that happen more naturally (instead of being caused in-story, by damage). Pretty sure it's for plot logic, since it makes the most sense for the key cutscenes to have the LCBus team IDs instead of some alternate ones, such as Boatworks Ishmael or something different.
@@xosefontes7163 No. Big Brother and Big Sister is the same power level. Great Brother and Great Sister is the higher one. It was litteraly said in the after cutscene. The Middle works like a family, so the highest rank is either Father and Mother or maybe it goes beyond all the way to Great Grand Father and Great Grand Mother, but that is yet to be seen.
Speaking of power scaling No one has mentioned how fucking crazy of s feat the elder did with his introduction and how fucking durable the big brothers are because of it This old man on a whim threw a harpoon so hard it broke the sound barrier And this random big brother fucking tanked it
Really sets in how much less powerful LCB is than the Library. The Library had no trouble with multiple colors and multiple finger members of presumably similar rank as Ricardo, and here your guys are absolutely screwed with just one of them.
@@colinduchilio4052 A fairly large portion of the middle's southern section (the city is HUGE), but yeah. He also wasn't even a color fixer at the time, just borrowing the identity of his wife who was the real color fixer, and yet he was still that capable (though granted he did so much damage that he was THOUGHT to be an actual color, and may have been able to claim the title himself if he wasn't demoted to grade 9 for his rampage). It really shows how fucked the power scaling in PM is, and how far we have to go in LCB before we're anywhere even close.
@@bellsbunnyi don't think he was ever officially a color (the only time he's been referred to as the black silence is while he was in the library, and i don't think hana association would make him a color after his rampage in the city
Honestly, even post-intervallo 4-2, this was still the hardest fight for me, including railways. I beat it in 2 tries, but that's only because i got carried by K Corp Hong Lu not dying and keeping ishmael alive, by the skin of my teeth. Still absolutely hilarious that possibly the hardest fight in the game and the guaranteed loss is fought over hair coupons.
the theme of being violently crushed, shredded, destroyed, exploded, disfigured, ravaged and utterly violated in 1 turn after receiving the ''MY HAIR COOOOOOUPOOONSSS!!'' attack fucking thrice
It's fairly easy, just use Middle IDs, Nclair, Sloshmael is viable too, and rush for stagger, don't mind if you get attacked by his two mooks, also for Middle IDs Meursault and Don, the Multifold Retribution is incredibly powerful
so i went to fight rick with my team full of slashers, needless to say he was the first story boss to actually *wreck* me like, not even an ounce of advantage, just straight up wreck
Liu associations Ish and NCorp Sinclair on their to fight Richardo Richardo:hah still easy IV uptied Ncorp sinclair and Liu Ish while they not Clash since Ish is tanking Richardo:Im screwed
me, priming Ardor Blosson Star on Ishmael: "dearest, if you roll tails even once, you may as well say goodbye to that pay grade you were fighting not to lose in the previous intervallo". Ishmael, in fact, said goodbye to that pay grade.
@@ДмитрийКаганер me after overclocking Ardor Blossom Star, make her distorted and she beated Ricardo like a full grown woman beat her 5 years old son: holy sh*t Joke aside, Ricardo took a ridiculous amount of luck to beat on first try (or just spam Ardor Blossom Star overclocked and Zwei Assoc identity)
It's because to actually lose "forcefully" you still have to try and get him down to half health. So it just shows you that you struggle even to just lose
I didn’t expect the encounter with the executive of Middle Finger to be like comical scene. Expectation:Let them the difference in power as the price for messing with our subordinate organization… Reality:MY HAIR COUPOOOOOOOOOON!!!!!
really sets the whole vibe for the middle, after all, the first member of theirs (or at least a former one) to show up in a game was a furry wolf lady that beat up the kurokumo clan to get some cloth so she could play music with the rest of her gang
Tbf its a perfect represantation of how nuts the syndicates are, looking back at library of ruina the index were loonies who would follow every instruction from a piece of paper they were so devoted they would follow fake papers too because they knew it didnt matter because it was all the will of the city.
@@darkindragon The thing is it *worked out* for the Index bros. Esther, Hubert and Gloria as well as their proselytes got out of the Library along with everyone else and likely received valuable intel along the way.
@@darkindragon Presumably it worked out for them when they followed insane orders before, and even someone without faith will go ahead just due to prior evidence. As far as we can tell, the Index treats its own members fairly well.
The ending part of the song really inflicts that feeling of "You're gonna get fucked in 20 different ways back to back because of your Brit-Boy stealing a god damn coupon, as well as despair because you guys aren't built for this yet." And honestly? I love it, because it just peaks as a climax for the entire battle's purpose. You won't win, you weren't even going to: because Ricardo was going easy on you to begin with. All that was just the "Test of the Big Brother".
The other day I left my youtube playing songs in auto-mode while I was writing a document, and then, when this started to play, MY FREAKING BRAIN, I SWEAR, IM BEING AS LITERAL AS I CAN, LIKE, I DONT MEANT THIS IN ANY KIND OF MEME CONTEXT: I felt my fight or flight response kicking in. Ricardo scarred my Limbus experience forever.
@@bartek9542 In my case, I beat the trio with egospam first attempt, then struggled with final boss for a bit (no ego left). But hell, this pink gigachad obliterated me so hard and it's not like you can win his fight
The final boss feel okay to me, feel abit like victory lap after trio fight while still offering decent challange. Trio feel harder, but egospam save me. This guy on middle of the chapter however? Hoo boi... Was panicking so hard when i fail to stagger him by juuust a little while his buff stack expired. Clutched with ego that roll 40 on clash and so glad when a cutscene appear. Was wiped more to this guy than other fight on this chapter
Tbf when color fixer arrived, there was no longer a fight. Ricardo just lost his shoulder(and possibly entire arm) and dipped tf out instantly. Ricardo is much weaker than Colors, but much stronger than us. He's probably high Urban Nightmare tier, colors are high SotC, and Sinners currently are splish-sploshing on the bottom of Urban Nightmare or top of Urban Plague
@@notveryartificial4486yeah. iirc sinners are around the power level of a grade 8,maybe 7, fixers. or slightly stronger with specific IDs. still no match for a big borther.
Man, I wonder if PM took inspiration from Warhammer's Dwarfs while making Middle. I mean, they both have grudge books and both are obsessed with revenge. One good example was: Dwarfs were asked to build a fortress in exchange for money, after finishing it and getting payed, they raised army and destroyed this new fortress completely. Why? Because when counting money, they found out they were underpaid 2 gold coins...
I think they definitely did, especially as how the Middle are also decked out in jewelry like the dwarfs and the one we meet is obsessed with hair care like how dwarfs obsess over their beards.
the middle is mainly based on, obviously, Yakuza. however, yea, the book of Vengeance is kinda random, so i can absolutely see PM getting inspired from random stuff like WH dwarfs and whatnot.
Fought him.. and he's truly an embodiment "WE CALL THIS A DIFFICULTY TWEAK" cause my usual team couldn't do jack crap to him. With my best being nesr 2nd stagger (g gregor, 7 outis, n clair, lccb ishmael, pequod hesth and yi sang)
I went in with LCCB Ishmael and had her tank everything with her guard just so she wouldnt waste bullets before the big moment. Aside from that I went with Dieci Yi Sang (another tank), N faust and base heathcliff for some extra damage and EGO, and Dieci Meursault (Which I know didnt exist at the time but still) along with Rosespanner Rodion as my main damage dealers
We're still so low in the city's food chain. Even Vergilius, He's strong but easily got his ass slapped by Iori. We keep getting lucky and have been bailed out of a total wipe three times now. First in the forest, second with Kromer, third here with hair coupon king Ricardo (Technically another time again at K Corp checkpoint but not really). I haven't even finished the canto v dungeon yet so it might happen again.
Fun fact: aftet the fight, when Dante is losing hope a bell sound efect can be heard. This same sound can be heard when Dongbaek/Dongrang/Captain are about to gain an ego/distort. Meaning Dante likely almost got an ego
@@prokiller4860"Distortion or ego" isn't dependent on the situation. It depends on if you love yourself more than anything else in the world or not. If your world is centered about yourself - you are distorting. If there is something you value more than yourself - you get ego. And there is two different ways for it. One - you love something a lot. Two - you hate yourself a lot. Yeah. You can acquire ego from self-hatred. It's how Vergilius did that at least
Spoilers? This is the second time a Sinner has had to avoid their realization of self via a cheap cop-out. First Sinclair with his friend defeating Kromer in his stead, and now Ishmael somehow summoning a fucking Color in the middle of the ocean. Let them evolve, damn you! Let them face insurmountable odds and win! Yi Sang and Rodion got theirs, so why can't Sinclair and Ishmael have their endings?
Also, Sinclair got a chunk of his growth and became much more outspoken regardless of Demian having beat Kromer. The real growth for him and probably big evolution will come once we eventually confront Demian when he inevitably comes for Sinclair once he's "hatched" or otherwise developed to where Demian deems it time to properly return. Rodion still has to deal with unresolved business with Sonya and Yi Sang has the same with Gubo just like we didn't really confront the source of Gregor's trauma, Hermann. I feel like each sinner is going to have two, possibly three, stages of major growth over the story, though that's not to say they aren't really growing as we progress through the Cantos as is- the group from Canto I was not nearly as cohesive and in sync as it is now, even if everyone isn't buddy-buddy and best friends. They're still closer than before and not at each other's throats 24/7 or otherwise completely unwilling to interact with each other. They also aren't randomly killing each other over small grievances, even if the hotter tempers among the group are prone to confrontation with one another.
@@Lorekeeperhaos Something to support the "3 cantos for each character" theory is that the divine comedy was spread out in three sections too; Inferno, Purgatório and Paradisio, each one being more "mature" than the last. It's a safe bet to say the same will happen with the Limbus cast as they haven't finished developing yet.
@@funninoriginal6054 Yep, I think the three doors in the hallway during the first Dante's Note helped cement that. I'm more excited about Purgatorio than Paradiso honestly, though we'll likely be losing Vergilius at the end of that if it follows the beats of the book and that'll probably be a major turning point in terms of narrative. Hopefully less from Vergilius dying and more from having his wish granted and getting a proper semblance of peace back.
In the original book demian was the one who shot kromer so thats intentional build up for something and big brother has barely anything to do with ishmael personal conflict
