Experience the backrooms, poolrooms, and other liminal spaces as full 3D environments in 360/VR. Each liminal space has been 3D modeled to look just like the original photos they're from. #backrooms #liminalspace #360 #vr
guys, imagine watching this with your VR headset on, and while walking walking you accidentally bump into a wall. you then laugh it off, and take off your headset…and you slowly realize that all the walls are painted in a sunny yellow color.. you then see long corridors….congratulations, you’ve noclipped into the backrooms.
Whoever made this video seriously knows how to build suspense without constantly bombarding the viewer with jumpscares. This video gives me the vibe of a childhood nightmare that I can barely remember and all I know is how much it terrified me.
For some reason, Dreamcore/Weirdcore is frightening to me. And I’ve never really known or wondered why I’ve felt like this, I just have. It’s sort of like it’s spooky… and I like it. Although, other people who I have spoken with think otherwise. They don’t think it’s creepy, they say. Just…. Unique. By watching this video, I have discovered that the creepiest thing about Weirdcore/Dreamcore to me is how spacious it is. And how much there is unknown in the space around you, and just unknown things in general. You never really know what could be lurking around, and everything feels strangly familiar… but not in a good way. Especially the setting in the large pool area with the tiles.. It sends chills down my spine. Weirdcore/Dreamcore is ok, but you can’t deny it, it’s nightmare fuel.
Certain liminal spaces are also frightening for me. I don't like pitch black/ total darkness, and my agoraphobia is prominent in large, spacious rooms. (Like large warehouses/ warehouse stores like walmart or CostCo, they all freak me tf out.) So backrooms that feature large, empty rooms especially creep me out. Otherwise, small rooms are quite comforting, depending on the setting. My wife has thalassophobia (fear of water, specifically unnatural objects in water, like metal or wreckage.) So the pool rooms or places that features deep/black water freak her out. Weird core /dream core is that perfect slice of gray-area in my opinion that can either be a nice fluffy dream, or an inescapable nightmare. It all matters on where it takes you ;)
yeah, backrooms look kinda soothing to me for some reason. I'd like to be in these places if it's guaranteed that I'm going to be alone. but if there is a freaky creature, then nope. nah.
That square-hole that seems endless is one of my worst fears. It actually reminds me of a nightmare I did inside of a giant pool filled with sea monsters.
That giant square hole freaked me out too.. I had a similar dream like that before as well, although I can't remember the details, I remember that there was a huge serpent-like creature lurking at the bottom.
yes!! i have thalassophobia (fear of the ocean or huge bodies of water) even though i can swim & stuff its still scary to be stranded in the ocean unsure whats around you, when i think about deep water i kinda have a panic attack
This was so cool, using a cardboard headset really added to the experience! I like to imagine I’m a little robot just going around and recording these liminal spaces.
Love this! Reminds me of a dream I've had a few times of being in a condo apartment but each door just opens to a new big room so it seems endless.. BTW, you can use your mouse wheel to zoom out and in on this video.
There are stories of people who remember these, like they've been there before... not in person but in a dream so I think you have been in the backrooms, not in person but in a dream
I know to some people dreamcore/weirdcore/liminal spaces are creepy and unnerving, but to me they're calming, I wish I could just be lost in a world full of nothing but liminal spaces, even as a person who has thalassophobia, the pool ones are really appealing to me as well
Could agree with you depending on the liminal space. There is a backrooms level dedicated literally to thalassophobia, but it isn't that scary, just a giant ocean, sunken house, and man-eating fish at the bottom of the ocean. However, when I played a horror game, the way that level looked there was absolutely TERRIFYING, even when I was in a safe zone, my heart was beating quickly.
Funny enough, I had the same feeling when I was in swimming pool with school, first time in my life. From my perspective, labyrinth, unknown surroundings, feeling lost and oppressed - while everything was fine.
Oh.. 1:45 a real nightmare for me.. But also a cool place. Now that I think about it.. We all should play Back rooms with VR. I would definitely play a game that is about opening doors just to enter another realm of dream core/weird core... And keep traveling, without monsters but just the vibe. With VR headsets of course, it'd be such a great experience.
Don't think anyone else may have noticed the few shadow- figures you hid in this. Great little detail! First one I saw was at 0:51 (to the right of the column behind the dining table) [edit: 0:52 plus a few frames is more like it. Put your vid to .25 speed, it's there for a few frames]
I mean its made to restore your sanity not drain it. Just dont go to dager zone or the dark tile place or the bottom of the poolrooms. Its for your safety
It's the unsettling feeling of an empty room. Old colored walls. Squishy carpets, creaky floors, and even the quietness of no one there but just you. It became a core called Weirdcore and Dreamcore. These cores are very different but they have kinda alot that's the same. And even the dreams that you have like these with an empty room and anything that would make you feel unsafe or lonely or even uncomfortable. These rooms you see in some of these photos or even this video reminds you of a place you thought you've been to or even saw in a dream. But also sometimes it can be comforting to people and they think it's a special way to be with yourself. And what I found out abt the Dreamcore and Weirdcore cores is some people say at 3:30 or 3:00 a.m. you will see a figure in your room that will come close to you, and as soon as you close your eyes and sleep, you will be "teleported" to the Dreamcore or Weirdcore world. And you should always wear a watch at all times bc they said time is really weird in that world. You can even see non human people or figures there. That's what I know about Dreamcore and Weirdcore. I hope this kinda helped you guys get the idea on what people believe in these cores! 😸💜💚
this is beautiful, i applaud you - and my vr headset hasn’t even arrived... i’ll edit this comment once i try this experience in a few days... can’t wait, this is all i needed. beautifully comforting.
I gotta know what render settings you are using. Last time I tried making a 360 vid it had some screen tearing and was bad quality for some reason lmao.
Actually I dreamt of the Swimming pool one 1:37 it was genuinely quiet but there were windows and the sunlight was reflecting, but kind've looked unrealistic
I used to study about the Backrooms for 6 or 7 months and know alot of levels such as level 69, level -69 level 3999, level 0, level 1, level 2, level 3, level 4, level 5 and alot more
holy grapples you have no idea how long I have always wanted to go into the one weird stair pool I always use to want to go into it and this just made it come true you are my hero thank you
What do you think you see while no-clipping? Would you see a void- Would everything glitch out-- What do you think it looks like from your perspective when you no-clip? am I the only one who thinks about this-
I would guess it would look like how it looks in a video game. The wall seems hollow on the inside, and the wall seems to have a texture only visible from the outside, making the inside make it appear invisible. Why? Because no-clipping in the backrooms is described as how it is similar to videogame noclipping.
Somehow the place at 0:42 feels so familiar... When I was a kid, I had a weird dream about these rooms, there was a lot of underground rooms like these which were connected, but there were people, a lot of them and they were good-intentioned, and it wasn't that scary, just a little bit uncomfortable, like being a child and being lost in a place that is new to you between people that you don't know. And I slightly remember like it wasn't a dream.... But how???
That's the thing about liminal spaces. They are intentionally designed to mimic places between not yet and no longer, or places that the majority of the human population obviously explored, but they are all devoid of any signs of life.
