Joan is my inspiration. Not only does she still look incredible but she also still lives a life that most of us can only dream of. She still works non stop doing so many different ventures from books to one woman shows to guest tv roles. She has a true jetset life between London, St Tropez & america. She seems to have lots of genuine friends that she has had for many decades even before hollywood fame. Then she has a wonderful much younger husband who seems to adore her. I think her secret is that she kept grounded in her English roots & didnt let Hollywood suck her in. She has never deserted home, her family or her lifelong British friends. Aint nothing like a Dame.
The difference between Dame Joan’s era and ours is they were really showbiz glam in real life! They came out stunning! Taraji’s gown colour and Joan’s ensemble complimented each other so beautifully. Kudos!
One of the last remaining actors from Old Hollywood. But a star? I'm not sure about that. Certainly not a star on the level of say Ava Gardner. Ava was way more massive during the 50s and 60s than Joan Collins was.

Alexis Colby as deliciously portrayed by Joan Collins is one of the best characters you love to hate. And the fashion spoke for itself . To me, Dynasty the original was one of the best series, EVER. I miss the ‘80s & yet I’m so glad to have grown up in that era.
Dynasty was sold to over 50 countries. With Dallas, it was the most successful soap ever. It's why Joan is an international superstar who is recognised the world over.

@RuReady115- I personally really liked Beef, but I know that show isn’t for everyone. I do think that the show deserved all of its wins and one of the reasons is because I think that the other shows nominated weren’t really that great and there weren’t any real competition for Beef last year.
Even though she acted during the tail end of that period she's not someone one would associate with Old Hollywood. She wasn't a Elizabeth Taylor. Joan Collins is only remembered for the show Dynasty.

Listen carefully there will never ever be another Joan Collins simply put she is a living legend shining star a global icon to many she is a fantastic actress watch all her old 70s films shes funny campy and absolutely spell bounding and of course a long with Linda and john & Joan was a global superstar of dynasty in the 80s millions watched her ever move people loved her books her perfumes what a lot of people dont know is the charity work Joan has done for well over 40 years privately she is a mother too and has not had it too easy with her youngest who has had a lot of health problems i have loved her since i first seen her i was in awe at her beauty and how very very funny she is she truly is the ultimate Star one in a million she looked a million dollars .. what a reaction she got when she arrived on stage she was touched ..

Hello! Studio Executives why haven't you put Damn Joan Collins to work? There's no reason why you Networks can't come up with good scripts and storylines to keep our legends working, especially when they're as talented as Dame Joan Collins. If the Emmy's can match Taraji P Henson together with the Director of Beer, then these Network should do their jobs. Because if a room full of standing folks can give this kind of love to Joan, then you know the viewers are doing the same thing at home. Bring our legends back to television and film: like Carroll Burnett who just won a Critic Choice, Diana Ross is the new YSL, Cher just landed another number 1 album. Bring back our legends and give them the same respect and the same Ad dollars you would for any blockbuster movies or series. We demand it and it's long over due that the Executives stop thinking about their pockets and think more about our pockets and what we want to see and enjoy on film and television. I said my two or three cents, until you do that maybe I will think about coming back to my subscription. Until that happens I'm following these Ladies on their social media where they're killing it left and right, and not giving a damn about this crap.

Joan is 90 and looks more radiant and ypunger than most 50yrs old i knkw. Such class and elegance. Even the way she spoke. This actors and actresses from that long forgotten era were multi-faceted artists.
Joan is good friends with singer Shirley Bassey and the gown Joan is wearing looks like something Shirley would wear. Joan said the gown designer makes clothes for Princess Kate.

I know right? I grew up watching Dynasty. I read somewhere years ago that Dynasty was about to be canceled until Joan made her appearance. Joan RULED the 80's!
