Dude back in 2000 when this first came out, I had no idea what "chocolate starfish" meant. In fact I didn't learn until MANY years later. Once I learned what it meant, I instantly remembered this album, and only then the title kinda made sense. ("kinda" meaning, I didn't understand what the "hot dog flavored water" part meant at the time, until I researched it)
One thing I always loved about this song I feal many didn't catch & appreciate: When he says "If I say fuck, just 2 more time, that's 46 fucks in this fucked up rhyme" In the process of making that statement he actually did say fuck 2 more times. 😂🤣😂
Chocolate star fish means asshole. So he’s saying “kiss my ass”. Just FYI lol. Also the chorus is a stab at NIN’s song, “Closer” - at the time, they were kind of beefing with each other.
Ahh 2000, when the world was pretty much at peace, people were living comfortably, the racial divide was just about gone by that point, and people were bored as FUCK LOL. There was a lot of angst at that time haha. You can tell by the movies that came out around that time. The Matrix, Fight Club, Office Space etc. The music was also full of angst too lol.
So impressed you did this song. This whole song is a giant Fuck You to Trent Reznor and his band Nine Inch Nails (NIN). Reznor had said some fucked up shit, so Limp Bizkit slammed him in this song. This song is playing on NIN's song called "Closer" so much that Bizkit had to put Reznor name in the song credits & get Reznor permission. Permission Reznor did NOT want to give, and made him angrier, but labels kinda forced it and Reznor decided it was better to sweep it under the rug and give permission instead of making a big drawn out issue out of it.
I just realized that this is a diss to Nine Inch Nails and I’m kind of feeling stupid because Durst literally calls out the band by name and the chorus is a play off of the NIN song Closer.
if I remember right (years and memories are notoriously bad), reznor wasn't a fan of this one but he didn't want to talk shit about it lest he be accused of not having a sense of humor.
I know this video is hella old, but in the ICP song 'fuck the world', violent j says fuck 95(+) times. It popped into my head when you said that this song had the most fucks you've heard in a song. Edit: forgot to mention that that ICP song came out in 1999. Edit 2: I realized that I put the wrong number. It's 93 times that violent j says 'fuck', not 95; cause the verse is 'in this song I say fuck 93 times'.
One of my personal favourite songs off the Chocolate Starfish album. However, I love an alternate/remixed(?) version of this song which I listened to when was still in school. This alternate version of "Hot Dog" had another guitar rhythym layered over the song and now I can't find it anywhere. I originally found it on one of those MP3 sites from back in the day.
@@sawwasfans It's not on the album. The one I heard definitely sounded like someone did the guitar track themselves, put it in the song the uploaded it to RU-vid. Keep in mind that this "remix" was from maybe 7 or 8 years ago.
Since you are going deeper with LB, and especially if you are familiar with George Michael, you need to check out "Faith" P. S. I'm told it choriographs real well with the Titanic scene where it sinks, but I haven't actually tried it myself.
A good part of this song is atdis to Trent Reznor. Who was known from his band, Nine Inch Nails. Trent is also a hell of a producer ,and Bizkit wanted him to produce this album. He declined. And so forth this song.. the rythem guitar grove is pretty much a copy of NIN, closer. and his dis with, a Nine inch nail will get the get knocked the fuked out. is part of this as well.
