Following the May 29 general elections, former Limpopo Premier Stanley Mathabatha has handed over the reins to his successor in the seventh administration. Mathabatha led the province since 2013 when Limpopo was under administration. He says he's managed to improve the lives of the people in the province through sustainable and inclusive development, as well as effective governance. Former Health MEC, Doctor Phophi Ramathuba, succeeded him as the first female Premier on Friday, and Mathabatha was sworn in as Member of Parliament on the same day.
