Lin Dan is the grandmaster. He plays with such grace, precision and swiftness of movement, every move carefully orchestrated and every shot artfully executed. At all times he is tactical and alert, acknowledging defeat when the point is lost and never for a moment seeming agitated. He shows the younger generation how it's done - and all the while, barely having to perform any smashes as he did in his younger days.
"BadmintonUniverse - sport from the best angle." Indeed, such an awesome angle. Something that BWF will never learn. Thanks for the vids. Keep sharing mate!!!
You can tell the difference between the way lin dan plays compared to all of the other professional players. Shows his years and years of experience and it looks oh so beautiful :')
watching badminton from this angle helps to see their footwork...great filming and quality...good Job..Please film more from this angle :D :D ...Thanks
Oh my godness... Badminton Unviverse.. you're awesome!!!! The best videos of all existing, are from you.. thank you so much for your shares.. Finally interesting videos to share with badminton beginners! everything is good !! the viewing angle, quality, and video editing .. we do not get bored! It seems to be there, I'm happy.. THX :)
Look at how Lin Dan increases his speed in the third game. Seems unbeatable at one point. And this gives him extra time to do double action net shots. He wasn't tired at all.
There are always debates in all sports as to who the G.O.A.T. is. Ronaldo or Messi, Federer or Nadal or Djokovic, etc. But Lin Dan is the G.O.A.T. in Badminton, without a doubt.
1:03:27 This rally really highlights one of Lin Dan’s most undermined GOAT attributes. Stamina. His opponent is visibly fatigued and lazy at the end while Lin Dan was unleashing jump smashes with no bother. He was 31yo while CT was 24yo. I feel that modern players struggle with stamina and fatigue. In many matches, the quality is visibly worse and slower. While Lin Dan and LCW in their primes never dropped their pace nor quality.
In my opinion, I believe that their training was insanely tough, tough enough that no one at least in our current era has bothered to replicate. You can find some videos of LCW or LD trainings on you tube, I believe that nobody else tried to push their body to that extent, only one I know would be Axelsen and also CTC who has incredible amount of stamina as shown in this video.
A great match and interesting unusual movieangle, close to the court. Chou has been just better and better this year and will be exciting to see his coming performances. I thought LD has changed to Yonex from this tournament but I still se Lining-labels, anyone know why?
Because you should never return to the dead center of the court. Biasing your base towards the side you played your shot will make it easier to return shots. Think about it. Cross shots will always be slower than straight shots
Yeah basically cross court shots will take a longer time to travel through the air giving players a little more time and room to play where as shots down the line take a short amount of time so players have to cover that a little more
LD is very good at anticipating the next shot so he doesn't always need to return to the middle. He has very efficient movement which prolonged his career.
heres a dumb question for any high level players. does the person who changes shuttlecocks for the players do anything other than that? do they also watch the net or lines? or is their only job to take and give a new bird?
He's the service judge. He makes sure that the one performing the service is not violating any rules. This is especially important in doubles where the service and return of service has major impact on the outcome of the match
1:01:47 did the umpire told Lin Dan to stop hitting the shuttle too far from Chou when Lin Dan lost the point i saw he doing it quite often? it s indeed irritating and quite bad attitude from a five time world champion.
Ramon Meijer Lin Dan is past 30 now, he does not have the stamina he used to have, he now plays a lot more conservatively compared to 2008 Olympics, perhaps he does this strategically to increase the interval between rallies so he can rest a bit more.
Yes, LD tends to do this a lot, especially when agitated (hit it to the opponents backcourt). His manner isn't great, but of course his achievements speak for themselves...
Badminton referees are so much trouble and always chasing after players. Wow the shot at 38:18, LD is so good. Wonder if they again will he still beat chou tien chen..
Mark Ebber When the fuck did I say Lin Dan was right-handed? The point of my comment was not many people are left-handed, and it's rare to see the badminton god being left-handed. Holy shit you people.
are u living in some forsaken well that the only person still surviving is you? TisfatDude0703 fu haifeng, bao chunlai, wong choong han are all professional left handed players.
TisfatDude0703 This is is what gives him a distinct advantage. Most players never encounter a left handed player in their local circuits. Also, due to the left handed players natural inclination to push shots to the right handed player's forearm gives Lin Dan an advantage, as most advanced players know the forearm side push is slightly more difficult to respond to.
Master_ 53506878 Jesus Christ, I apologize. I didn't comprehend the world was full of ignorant, inconsiderate, and unintelligent bunch of fucking papaya fucks. I would thank Chey Chon for giving me an intellectual response, the rest of you are just absolute jerks.
