George Vondriska demonstrates how to install a lateral door system. The LIN-X Lateral Door System from Sugatsune is the perfect solution for any woodworking project on which there isn't room for standard out-swinging doors. The hinges on this system allow any door to open to the side so you don't hit yourself in the head or leave any nasty scars on your walls. The LIN-X is perfect for medicine chests, vanities, tight-corner kitchen cabinets and any other doors that open in cramp spaces.

When opening the door, how far forward does the door move? Inch-wise

I'd like to use this on a "murphy door" where the door/bookcase is 11" deep and I don't have clearance to use a pivot hinge. The bookcase is on casters so weight isn't an issue Would this work?

I haven't tried doing anything like that so I can't say with certainty that it would work, but I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work. I would suggest discussing this with the manufacturer to increase your confidence: www.sugatsune.com/contact/ Paul

As of August 14, 2013, cost is >$161.50, each!!!!!!!!!!!! For a million dollar house, maybe, but not for anything I'm likely to build.

Is February 2020 and still on sale for too much $$ I look at different sales and you can get them from $225 the highest to $135 the Lowest in eBay...still pricey for a regular person, I need it to fix one of my kitchen doors cabinet but at that price I think I just deal with it like that.

yeah if you ever find a solution like this for a lot cheaper i'm all ears. Way way to much for each hinge
