In July we celebrated the union of Di and Xibai, a day filled with meaning, love, and quiet reflection. Set against the stunning backdrop of The College Chapel at Lincoln College, Oxford-where their personal history as students is deeply rooted-their ceremony was not just about their commitment to one another, but a subtle nod to the many who are still denied the right to freely express love.
The morning began with rain, however, as the day progressed, the weather brightened, mirroring the warmth and joy shared between the couple. Inside the beautiful, historic chapel, Di and Xibai made heartfelt vows to honour one another as equals throughout their lives, while acknowledging those whose love stories are less easily shared.
After the ceremony, guests were treated to a serene recital within the college buildings. With piano and zither performances, the couple’s profound appreciation for music shone through, allowing everyone to pause and appreciate the artistry of the moment. The day concluded with heartfelt speeches where Di and Xibai expressed their deep love and respect for one another in the company of close friends and family.
Reflecting on the video, Di and Xibai shared, "Thank you again for making our day so special, and for creating a truly beautiful work for us to share the memory with our friends and families across the world. Art brings people closer; thank you for making it happen for us."
