in this video I'm gonna share with you how to diagnose and fix a System Too Lean Trouble code ( P0171 & P0174 ) That's affects Bank 1 and Bank 2, Enjoy! #P0171 #fuelsystem #engine #lincoln Email: Deo@calleva,org
I guessed at a fuel delivery issue at the beginning but I do like the way you cover all of the possibilities that would cause it as in following through with a voltage drop test as well first before ordering a new pump .. Love the way you approach your diagnostics .. 👍
Nice idea sir keep up with ur good works u are a knowledge dispenser this video is helpful to me right now looking forward catch up with you overseas Am automotive technician from nigeria.i love ur illustration
Your diagnostic practices sure beat the "replace and pray" that most shops do. Btw, where are you located ? And thanks for the education, I'm sure it is appreciated by all of us.
Yknot My Pleasure! pumping the brake pedal creates a vacuum leak through the brake Booster, since there is atmospheric pressure on the other side of the brake booster pumping the pedal, allows unmetered air to enter the intake manifold through the Booster!
Hey man thank you so much for the great video. I am currently having the same codes on my 2016 Lincoln mkx with the 3.7 liter. I have performed all of the test you have with the same result. The only thing I am incapable of testing is the fuel pressure. Do you have any insight on what gauge or adapters I need in order to perform this test and if so where to get them? Thanks in advanced
@maconmoooremoore5964 My Pleasure! Fuel pressure testing can be very dangerous if you don't have the proper testing equipment. so I recommend you take it to a pro mechanic who can diagnose it for you!
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair Thank you so much for the response. I actually did take it to a really good technician friend of mine. Unfortunately he only works on imports and does not have the tester to link into this system. However he told me if I could source the tester and or adapter needed he would test it. Either way sense you responded if you don’t mind let me go a little deeper and get your professional opinion. So it’s reading lean at bank 1 and 2 same as the car in the video. It’s also asking for a lot of fuel just like the car videoed long term 1 is around 22 percent long term 2 is around 29 percent. The only confusing part is it’s also burning a ton of fuel. The fuel economy is terrible. So it’s burning a lot of fuel. Asking for a lot of fuel. But coming reading lean at the oxygen sensors before the cats. It’s throwing us for a loop lol. So for starters I’d be really curious to know if your customer was complaining about bad fuel economy or if you noticed that? As well as just your professional opinion as to what to look at next?
Do you think we should inspect first to make sure there is no kink in the fuel line before suspecting fuel pump? by the way I'm your avid you tube viewer .
I have a 2016 cooper clubman short term is between -11-31 even at 4000rpm long term is between +7 -2.34 is that sign of vacuum leak at idle long term is 2.34 and short is between -1.56 and -28
