Nice video, i trust you enjoyed your visit and will be coming back to this beautiful city. Here's a few little fun facts for you... The Lincoln Steampunk Weekend was originally known as The Weekend at The Asylum and was held in what is now The Lawns visitor complex, which used to be a mental health Asylum and is to be found around the other side of the castle. Whilst Steampunk originated several decades ago as an off-shoot of Cyber Punk (a sci-fi genre) the Lincoln festival has grown to be a wider celebration of creativity based around re-imagining themes in the style of early Science fiction stories. Steep Hill is apparently the 4th steepest street in England... Newport Arch, at the northern end of the Bailgate, was the roman gateway to the City and is the oldest archway in the UK still used by traffic. Lincoln Cathedral was the worlds tallest building from 1307-1548 , losing its crown when the central spire collapsed, and it is most definitely a Cathedral and not a Minster.
@@LeeLeesAdventures yeah, was there all weekend with a different outfit each day. I live about a mile away so the castle area is my normal hangout, the festival just makes an already glorious city even better!
Fellow Coeliac here. You don't visit Lincoln unless you're fit 😅. Lovely city, beautiful Cathedral, although I am a little biased as it's my home county. The Steampunk Weekend is something I've always wanted to go to.

I love Steampunk, working on my first outfit now. What I notice when I watch the Steampunk event videos, I see a lotta costumes that aren't Steampunk. I see Dieselpunk a lot, Fantasy, Cyberpunk, Anime even, and sometimes just dress up. I love them all, don't get me wrong, and some of them really fit with Steampunk, but when go to a Steampunk event, dress Steampunk.... Just my humble opinion.
Hi Kees there was lots of different outfits with other styles and with it being our first visit. ! It made the event pop I was amazed how much work everyone put into there costumes. We are hopping to go to this years event 2024 glad you enjoyed the video as much as I did filming it 🙏👍 stay safe out there. Might see you in your new costume at Lincoln 🫣
@@LeeLeesAdventures High on my bucket list! But being from the Netherlands it's not an hour on the bus. But I have seen so many vids on RU-vid, I know it will be worth it. And true, I love the work they put in it, I also love cosplay, and well, the overall look is Steampunk :)
