Lincoln Town car change brake light switch 

I watched 4 different videos on replacing the switch. This issue the best. It took the time to show exactly how and where all the pieces went. Thank you.

This video is a God send for someone who has never done this before. Did it on my 2004 crown vic. I tried other videos, got nothing done for at least an hour. Watched yours and got it done on first try. This is like the exact look of my brake switch. Thank you so much!!!

Thought there was a problem with my sound until I read the maker's name "Silent Mechanic"! A '92 Taurus is exactly reversed (the rod on the brake pedal is on the other side) but your clear photography was really helpful in getting it done, thanks! Coulda shown the connector going back on of course.

What is the point of doing this? Will this fix my 06 town car that is hard to get in gear? Gotta press on brake pedal 10x before it decides it wants to shift out of park

My switch swivels a little bit up and down after installation. Is it supposed to move like that? I replaced it and I'm having intermittent problems with it.. lights sometimes stay on

I need to see where the plug you plug into that connects to on the other end. I kno it plugs into the bottom of the brake light switch that u didnt do in the video but i mean the other end of that wire that plugs into the brake light switch

How can I test this and see if this is affecting my cruise control. pking brake lamp is also lit on the dash The horn works so the clock spring should be fine also I think there's something mounted on the master cylinder that could be messing with it

can someone show me how the wiring goes... I got brake pedal position module wiring one going to the brake light switch and a orange wire going to ? .... then i have the wire come from ? going to the brake light switch

Hi i have a question i recent ly replaced not the switch but the connector that goes on top and it seems like i placed the black washer wrong through the inside instead not like you did you through the outside dont know if thats the problem but its not working or could be the wiring? Does the stripe wire from connector go with the stripe one from the car? And the solid with solid? Please just asking need help i replaced connector and its not sparking or anything had to replace because the wire kept coming loose i had to be going down and moving wires together so the car can move the it started smoking and when i tried fixing it the wire broke off so i thought just replace the connector so it can have new wires but now i replace it and it still doesnt work

If someone puts on the brake light switch the wrong way can that be causing my backlights to stay on ? Because my brake light switch isn't sticking out it looks to be put in the other way

My 2001 town car is different i think i cant tell if someone cut it off or its just different

was it blowing the fuse as well as not working?

i jus re wired mines. Gear shift & brake lights work only its draining my battery somehow.

I replaced this part on my 2003 Lincoln town car. i still can not shift out of park nor do my break lights work. A couple weeks ago when I started the car up I went to put my foot on the break to shift to drive and I heard a pop then realized my climate control went black and shift was stuck in park. I know there is a trick to get it into drive but that defeats the purpose of driving it if I have no break lights. Does anyone know what else could be going on? Also fuses were checked none are blown.
