Thank you so much for your positive review and love for the LincStation N1! 😊 We sincerely apologize for the damage the box suffered during shipping. 📦 We take this matter very seriously and will be addressing it with Amazon. Regarding the questions raised in your video: The built-in USB drive functions as a bootable system drive. It is essentially a startup disk. 💻 We are currently developing our own operating system, called Linc OS, which we plan to launch in Q4. LincStation N1 users will also be able to use Linc OS, so stay tuned! 🚀 We are working on upgrades for the N1, such as switching to the N100 chip and upgrading the Ethernet port. Additionally, N2 is in accelerated development and design. 🔧 We are committed to continually improving in the NAS field and providing more high-quality products. Thank you for your support! 🌟

2:50 I prefer replacable cables on both ends in case it gets damaged, or if i have achieved cable management mastery, and dont want to undo 50 zip ties and velcro straps when i could just unplug the cables from both sides of the brick.

title issue? it is 2x 2.5" + 4xNVME no? Title lists the opposite. seems like a great lil device

oh and the speeddrop is your SSD's filling up the cache and then it slows down to the base write speed. quite normal and not unraid related, it is SSD related.

Thank you for both points. Fixed the title

A few notes for this company. The overall design is great. However For the price i would hope it came with the current generation hardware like an atom N100 or N300/305 Also for customer convenience, i like tool-free and tray-free slots for 2.5 inch however this does mean you have to greatly limit the drive height compatibility to basically only 7mm, not the 9 and 15mm common with high density HDDs. For a good example look at the Silverstone 3x5.25 to 5x3.5 adapter cage, no tools, no trays, when you open the door, it ejects the bare drive and rather than a tray/sled, it has integrated rails to use the HDD's outer shell to guide it into the slot. Edit, you can design tool-free 2.5 inch bays, however becuase not all drives are the same size and shap, you need to put prohibitively more R&D into this as opposed to 3.5 and 5.25 bays as these all follow a standard size and shap, outside of those mostly OEM only 3.5 drives, and OEM 5.25 drives have their own standard(slimODD)

@21:00 when copying files over you prob hit the nvme ssd's internal dram cache limit. The main raid should be used for spinning rust drives (for the way it calc the parity for the drives), you would have been better off setting up as 1 or 2 8tb in the main array (no parity) as just storage and the 4 nvme's as a zfs pool, I think in unraid v7 you wont even have to use the main pool like current ver 6 you need at least 1 drive in the main array to start

I wonder if pasting the CPU correctly would improve the download speed?

I was watching another video on this box by a UnRaid experienced fellow, there is an option to add storage for a Cache (which absorbs the data immediately and populates the RAID in the background). There seem to also be an abundance of File System types (ZFS and ButterFS - sp?) which may also improve the writing performance after your natural Cache is exhausted. Anyhow, thanks for the dig in and disassemble -- very useful. Something to play with. I am also gleaning that the SSDs are each given one PCIe channel and use Gen3, so I'm not going to waste money on Gen 4, especially if I am interested in capacity rather than speed (i.e. 2.5G network connection).

You seem to be aware of Unraid by keep saying "it's just unraid" and other details but then have no clue about the licence fee / time. I have a Synology as my main device and got this Lincplus as a lower powered hot device and it's perfect for that.

Linkin Park might not be happy about that logo. P.S. Maybe a title issue?

Thank you for your interest in the LincPlus logo! Our logo was designed by a professional designer and is a registered trademark, recognized by the trademark offices in the US, UK, and EU. It incorporates the letters L and P from LincPlus. We also love Linkin Park's music-maybe our designer is a fan too! 🎸🤘

@@StevenJoseph-ob6ru they might have said expensive but they meant overpriced. $400 for an N5105 with some NVME slots is wacked.

You should never pay 400 for this, it's constantly on offer both on their own site and Amazon. I paid 270 euro on Amazon and it's amazing for that price.

@@dubsmachine555 That's a much more reasonable price. I'll have to keep an eye out for it. Thanks
