One of the greatest tragedies in TV programing was the cancellation of Freaks And Geeks by a man who had zero understanding of being a kid in public schools. Linda was perfect as Lindsey. My wife and I still watch it at least once a year.

I remember catching a glimpse of it not knowing what the show was called. It looked lame so I passed on it. Years later I watched this show from the start because I saw Linda Cardellini in Boy Meets World. Somebody mentioned that she was on Freaks and Geeks and I did not know that show by name. It turned out to be the show I passed on. It became one of my favorites

Probably some surgery, Also has you get more successful in Hollywood you get more access to nutritionists ,and probably makeup professionals. Which is why some look better in their middle age, rather then early years .

The problem with Freaks and Geeks wasn't the show itself, which was amazing, but the network didn't promote it very well. Had they believed in this fantastic show they would have done something to save it. Sad story about one of the best shows to ever be cancelled after such a short time.

The show would've been a lot more successful nowadays if the show could be released on Peacock instead of NBC. I mean its a show about high school kids so the shelf life of the show probably was only 1-2 more seasons before Franco, Rogen and Segel's characters would've no longer been in high school.

I remember my boyfriend's mom telling me Freaks & Geeks was cancelled because she had seen that Letterman ep. She was like, hey that show you two like was cancelled, sorry. I was so bummed!

Letterman once had to host a show where he found out in the moment that it had been canceled. He had Tom Snyder on his old morning show and Snyder mentioned the show had been canceled when that wasn’t public knowledge yet. He must have understood what that was like.

ugh i just discovered freaks and geeks. as a 15 year old i so relate to it. and it’s cliche but like. i really wish i was there for it. i was disappointed after binging the first few episodes finding out it was cancelled early.

I'm currently re watching freaks and geeks right now in 2023, it is a great show it had something to say that's very real. It says something about Life, Friendship, Love, and Family. It's that 70's Show meets The Wonder Years, in one.

@@cassietherainbowsend722Neil's episode with his dad actually made me remember my childhood, I had a neighbor buddy who's parents got into a huge fight one day. My buddies dad had done something bad at the time I was like 9 so I wasn't exactly sure what but it was very similar to Neil's story tho

@@evanreid6917 crazy how the feelings of things that happened when we were so young come back with the memories. Sometimes it’s a good thing and sometimes not. I cried damn near ugly at the episode with the sports rivalry where they get the drinks thrown at them and later find the car, vandalize it and a fight ensues. Brought back some good memories of the Us vs Them days.

It was so wild to me when I realized there was only one season, I remember the commercials for the show so vividly from when I was a child. Once I grew up and actually watched it couldn’t believe it only had one season, I felt like I had always seen it advertised for years

I remember watching one of the last episodes of Freaks and Geeks thar aired. It was the one where Linda's character smokes dope and gets high. I always kind of thought that it was that episode - showing one of their characters smoking dope - and it being funny - that killed the show. But ... I don't know. .

Are you dumb? It's black and white, she's wearing make up. She has aged a lot. She looks 40. You can clearly see it on her neck, hands and arms. You can also see it around her eyes and mouth when she speaks compared to when she was younger. Incredible, human in fact.

The 2000 ''IT Bubble'' financial crisis killed this show. I hate the financial oligarchy for many other reasons, but I'll never forget they somewhere caused Freaks and Geeks cancellation

what, no? i’m pretty sure the more likely reason was the inconsistent time-slots the show’s been given, which led to viewership remaining relatively low. It had a 7 million viewer average throughout its 15 episode run (3 were unaired), which is phenomenal in today’s standards, but really poor compared to 14 mil from Frasier and Friends
