Two of the most beautiful voices ever. James is the guy that most people don´t know when they´re reacting to "We are the world", where his part is also fantastic.
It’s so crazy to think about it, but this was our “My Heart Will Go On.” It was literally everywhere at all times for at least a solid year+! I’ve missed it so much! ❤️
James Ingram has an amazing catalog, both singles and duets. His duet with Patti Austin, Baby Come To Me and single One Hundred Ways are both beautiful. Frankly there are too many to name; he was simply magnificent. Miss that voice.
Criminally underrated song. This is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. Instant chills and tears. Gorgeous. Two of the best vocalists in history right here. Thank you for your reaction to it!!
My favourite song from one of my favourite films. We should appreciate Linda Ronstadt as much as we can while she's still alive, because she has been suffering from Parkinson's Disease for ten years and can no longer sing. The producer of this song, Peter Asher, was a big star in the UK when I was young as half of the singing duo Peter and Gordon. He and Linda collaborated on many projects.
In 1986 when this came out, I was in 10th grade. Radio was huge back then, and you couldn't escape this song, it played at least every hour, every day. Honestly I got sick of hearing it. But after years of NOT hearing it, I can certainly appreciate it for all that it is. Thanks yet again!
As much as I love this song and both of these artists I also love the version from the movie. The two kids who sing this are really good and so dang cute. I actually have both versions on my play list. Thanks for reacting to this. Also, it is so sad that there are generations out there that don’t know James Ingram. He was so talented. RIP
Two great songs by James Ingram that you may want to listen to are Just Once and How do you Keep The Music Playing which is a duet with Patti Austin. Both great songs
James had a most wonderful, magical & powerful voice. He left us way too soon. RIP! Linda has a nice voice as well. She was not one of my favourites but I do love her on this song.
He's had a variety of hits, mainly duets or as featured vocalist. Hit #1 with Patti Austin duet "Baby, Come To Me" and #1 as a solo artist with "I Don't Have The Heart", which has killer lyrics.
Such a great song. Sadly James passed away a few years ago and Linda can't sing anymore due to illness, but we'll always have this classic to remember two of the most beautiful vocal tones ever in contemporary music.
This Is One Of My Very Favorite Songs From When I Was A Child. I Grew Up With My Mom Singing Me This Song And I Have Grown Up Singing It As Well! This Is A Beautiful Song And Brings Back So Many Great Childhood Memories Of My Mom Singing This Song To Me All The Time!
Great reaction Salvo! I'm glad you're good - I'm sitting here at work with tears in my eyes. Beautiful song - brilliant collab between two immaculate voices - Linda is a treasure, and James Ingram (RIP) - epitome of soul! Yup - emotional is an understatement! For another amazing James song (a duet with Patti Austin) - Baby Come To Me! Cheers!
I love this song Love love love! I also love the mouse version of the same song sung by the cartoon characters in the movie ( also in the soundtrack) that will warm and break your heart at the same time.
I love this song by these two amazing singers. Yes, get into James Ingram. "100 Ways" is one of my favs but "Just Once" is also so amazing. You will not be disappointed with his music!
I used to cry anytime I heard this song as a child. Please delve into James Ingram’s discography. You will not be disappointed. Just Once is sooo good. James Ingram and Patti Austin “Baby, come to me”. 🔥 You may have missed him, but he performed on We Are The World, as well. Lastly, I would highly suggest Quincy Jone’s “Secret Garden”. James is on that one along with Barry White, El Debarge and Al B Sure! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
There are 4 incredible female singers in the last 40 years that I have such an emotional connection with, any time you react to them I'll watch and like, they are : Linda Ronstadt, Olivia Newton-John, Helen Reddy & Sheena Easton
I never had that reaction before. But when they added scenes from the movie that did it. Amazing. I love your reactions. You aren't afraid to show your emotions. It's a wonderful gift to have.
Linda , we know, is amazing! James is as well. Unfortunately, he passed away from cancer, but he was associated quite a bit with Quincy Jones. James had a single out called "Just Once" which is lovely. He also sang on "We are the world" with his unmistakable voice. I hope you can enjoy these songs of his. And anything by Linda is great with me. You probably know this, but Linda did another duet with Aaron Neville. Thanks for reacting to this.
Yes he was very tight with Quincy, Quincy described his voice like Whiskey, if that makes sense! James also had a duet way before with Patti Austin, who is the goddaughter of Quincy J. “Baby come to me”, which was a big hit!
I loved this movie and the music. The movie had the children who did the character's voices sing the song, but then this version played during the credits and on the radio. Fun fact, Don Bluth was the incredible animator/director for this film, also did the animation for "The Secret of NIMH" and others. He is an incredible artist.
I'm 46 and it still makes the waterworks come on full force. I'd even gotten a big stuffed "Fievel" for Easter the year we'd seen the movie in the theater (1980-something). Don't know where that stuffed Fievel got to over the many moves from place to place, but seeing that next to my Easter basket on Easter morning was worth more than any chocolate bunny! 😅😂
Linda was such a diverse singer, she could sing anything and sound great,James Ingram also was incredible singer ,sadly he passed away in 2019.This is a wonderful song!My kids loved watching the movie years ago.
James Ingram is FANTASTIC. Please, please check out Just Once - and his duet with Patti Austin- Baby Come to Me. Haven't heard this song in forever and a day - and yes it still made me cry.
Linda could sing with anyone and James was simply amazing. You are so right! Two gorgeous powerhouse voices blended into an absolutely heavenly sound. This song doesn’t get any attention anymore and it really should. Thanks for doing this and jogging our memories. 🌺✌️
Love Linda Ronstadt. My absolute favorite is her duet with Aaron Neville - Don't Know Much (But I Know I Love You). I tried searching, but didn't find it in your reactions.
another thing...This song is emotional for me because it takes me back to when my kids were little and we would go to movies see this and other movies all the time. Then wed get them on VHS to watch over and over.
I remember seeing this movie and loved this song .James Ingram is a legend he's got many good songs and some greatest duets You have to listen to James Ingram & Patti Austin - Baby come to me . that's another great classic hit. and another great pair was James Ingram and Michael Mcdonald - Yah mo b there 2 great songs you defiantly should listen to
Have always loved this song, there is something BIG about it. For everyone maybe missing someone they love, or to love - connecting us all through the heavens and stars above somehow. So beautiful. Love James Ingram, he deserves more attention, a huge talent. "I don't have the heart" is one of his songs, he worked with Quinzy and MJ, wrote songs - sang with Dolly Parton (he was nominated for an Oscar for that song + 1 more), We are the world of course, and lots more... RIP James! ❤
James Ingram was one of the most magnificent voices in his era. Another movie sound track duet that is awesome is James and Dolly Parton, who did a song called The Day I Fall in Love, from one of the Beethoven movies.
I loved the movie as a kid, and the song was magical in the movie sung both by the voice actors for Feifel and Tanya and by these two beautiful artists. I recommend seeing the movie as an adult, you wont be disappointed. Thank you for the unexpected trip down memory lane.
I"m glad you've discovered James Ingram! He had a string of fantastic hits in the 80s and I think early 90s. For another great romantic duet, you need to check out "How Do You Keep the Music Playing" with James Ingram and Patti Austin! Thanks!
