Have you ever wondered how Costa Mesa’s The LAB Anti-Mall got its name? How about its history or who owns and manages it? Wonder no more, the Costa Mesa Historical Society kicked off its 2024 speaker series with Linda Sadeghi who is the owner, operator and designer of The LAB. The LAB got the label Anti-Mall because it is the opposite of the traditional corporate mall. It has been operating successfully in Costa Mesa for the past 31 years as a retail, restaurant, art and entertainment venue hosting a collection of small business shops and eateries.
In this presentation, Linda tells us her history and highlights five historic women and their accomplishments, all with the same mission in life, preserving historic spaces.
Linda was collaborator on other Orange County projects including: The CAMP in Costa Mesa and the Anaheim Packing House; is currently heading the Cottage Industries in Garden Grove and the restoration of the Balboa Theater in Newport Beach. Her next project is the ground up mixed use project, the BARN, in Anaheim.
