Oh wow this is the first time I've seen an in-depth look at this area on RU-vid! When I was house hunting I seriously considered Linden Hills. It is so cute and so walkable and so charming. It has some roll to its landscape and has a strip of nice independent restaurants and shops. I also loved its proximity to the lakes - of course. The main downside for me, however, are the small and narrow lot sizes. It is just darn near impossible to have a sizable city lot here and one of my passions is gardening. I suppose the second downside is the price. It's simply a pricey area and finding a home that doesn't need extensive work/renovations will definitely cost you. We ended up purchasing a home in Highland Park on larger lot near the river, but I do think I would have been very happy in Linden Hills. It's lovely and it definitely has character. I recommend walking around the area in Autumn when the leaves have changed because it is stunning.
I LOVE the Bakken Museum. A hidden gem of Minneapolis. Get a tour, if you can, for additional insight and fun. Plus, they have a GREAT garden space, which is worth the visit, itself.
