I agree. But, I also think Peter Green was just as talented. Unfortunately he also had mental illness that sidetracked his career. That was fate. If he didn't end up leaving music we might have never know Lindsey and Stevie.
I wonder why they list him at 5'10? I stood 10 feet from him at a concert and I am 6'4 and he was a bit taller than me. I wonder why they lie about some of these artists heights? But yes, a great musician IMO... One of my faves!
By the way ive. Allways loved fleetwoodmac. But it wasnt untill i watched the life story (bio) of lindsey buckingham till i realiized how big of part he was 2 the band and is downright magical with any instrument he plays. I just fell in love him. And i pretty much lost my live and respect for stevi nicks and Mic fleet wood. I love u lindsey buckingham. And happy you are happy on life and have a beautifull wife and children. You deserve it
Kay DuBrall like the late New York Football Giants head coach Allie Sherman ( 1961 - 1969 ) said about the late Giants Quarterback Charlie Conerly " if there was one guy you wanted in a foxhole with you , that's ( Lindsey Buckingham) you wanted in your foxhole " !!!!!!!!!!!!
I really have no words to describe how good this performance is, in the age of live autotune, playing to tracks, etc. This is the real thing. When one performer can play solo, live, in front of a huge crowd and sound better than the albums. It's a rare treat.
Iv played guitar for 27 years. And iv yet to see a more complete player. I'm a old school Page and Hendrix guy. And they are the masters of guitar. But Lindsey is so talented. He is the best guitar player alive. I truly believe this. I don't know who is gonna touch him.
Oh, I don't think you can put Hendrix and Lindsey in the same category, lol. Lindsey far surpasses Hendrix...as does Prince, Mark Knoeffler, Vai, Bonnie Raitt, Grohl...
James Salyers I think Knopffler easily beats him playing electric guitar. Maybe it was all the drug use, but Hendrix' live performances are filled with mistakes. Also, look up Stanley Jordan - Stairway to Heaven. Only guy I've ever seen playing 2 guitars at once.
Hendrix was a master improviser. He is way ahead of Knopffler in that field. And Hendrix sonically is way ahead. Listen to live at winterland. Or Band of gypsies. I don't how Knopffler could touch that. As for Jordan and Stairway iv seen it. He is a gifted player. Things today are different then 50 years ago. To me everything has gotten better but the content of what they play. In most cases anyway.
There's a reason why he is considered as God of fingerstyle damn this song is too good and the craziest thing is that he is actually singing along by playing something so bazzare.
I have been a huge of Fleetwood Mac for decades, but never really realized how talented Lindsey really is. This solo performance is amazing. A guitar wizard. Big Love really rocks!
This is one of the most impressive live performances... the guitar skills, vocals, emotion... INCREDIBLE! Huge fan of this song and his other work. His solo work was in a league of its own.
While this performance is pretty great - it isn't even the first time that he played this song live. And he did it multiple times after that. There were far greater moments in music history.
He has to be the most under appreciated and most humble of all the guitar hero's of the 70's Era. He even reinvented his style and just gets better and better.
I don't think you can claim that Lindsey Buckingham is the most underappreciated when he wasn't even the best guitarist that ever fronted Fleetwood Mac. Buckingham is great, but there are plenty of guitarists better than him.
+Anders Andersson i saw that too. That list is fuxked up big time. Most of the top 20 are just people who are inspirational to music. Lindsey Deserves way more recognition
2 of my favorite guitarists ... mark knopfler and lindsey buckingham. have been listening to both tonight even before i saw these comments. rs is crazy! also love neil young and nancy wilson of heart.
Love him or hate him Lindsey Buckingham is a BEAST on the acoustic guitar. You try and play this at his tempo and sing it. This a damn difficult song to learn to play and he makes it look soo easy. Apart from that this mans creative genius is unstoppable. Videos like these are a joy to watch kudos to the uploader.
William Evans to be fair he's been at it for over half a century and it's his profession. If anyone did anything for that duration day in day out they would be good!
kellie rerick how long have you been playing guitar for?? 50 years of anything as your profession, you’ll be excellent. Not just playing guitar a few evenings a week for 50 years. I’m talking total hours he has played will obviously be why is so good. If you don’t understand that then god have mercy on you
One can practice all day for 50 years and they'll be the best they can be - but it doesn't mean they'll be the best. Determination will only get you so far if you don't have the gift to start with.
"Go Insane" is so dark, and deep commentary. I had to check to see that Lindsey Buckingham wrote it, which he did. Pure genius. Brilliant piece of songwriting, and he performs it exquisitely. It's bittersweet, and feels so true.
The guy was a heartthrob 30 years ago and is still one today. Not to mention incredible singer guitarist musician legend. This is pure goosebump material, we will still listen to it 50 years from now.
Check out "Go Your Own Way," and especially the whole ending portion. He did it with Fleetwood Mac, but it's his song. He wrote the lyrics, music and is the lead singer and guitarist. My favorite FM tune, and a big part of my childhood in the late 70s/early 80s. :)
You will never change my mind that Buckingham was the superior talent in the Nicks/Buckingham duo. They tie for ego but when it comes to talent, Buckingham has it all over Nicks.
@@stephenj8576well, I think people feel compelled to pick sides because of their history and the more recent demand by Nicks to kick him out of the band.
The only thing that disappoints me about this performance is the fact it's got 486 dislikes. That man is a legend on that guitar absolutely amazing performance 🇬🇧👌🏼
I can kind of understand that I didn't like his solo stuff myself definitely a very acquired taste but he fits in Fleetwood Mac like a glove and he is one hell of a musician and guitarist without Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham joining Fleetwood Mac listen to some of the early Peter Green Fleetwood Mac and tell me how long it would have lasted better yet listen to Lindsey Buckingham playing oh well on the guitar and singing it compared to Peter Green
I am a pretty accomplished guitar player and i'll tell you what. this is hard as hell. he is one of the most underrated guitar players . he just didn't show off.
I really dont understand how Fleetwood Mac fired him only because he wanted to tour in 2019 ... This is their final tour and he should be there because he is a big part of that group....
Hilda Lobo Stevie Nicks got him fired according to his interview in Rolling Stones magazine. No respect for her anymore. He was willing to tour, total lie concocted by Nicks and Fleetwood.
Classical Spanish guitar sound... There's no wonder that every time he's NOT been with Fleetwood Mac -- they've needed to bring in TWO guitarists to replace him.
41 years later. Still have my crush and appreciation of Lindsey. Pure, Raw, no effects needed...just real talent here folks. This is a honest to goodness REAL Artist. Not the fake Lab Created Ones That are being produced currently.
@@Nickpaflas Maybe your right technically. And whether in a studio with technicians enhancing audio, or not. None is fake in any way to me. It's all real. God bless the crews, and the players right now. Until we resume any new normal, tours and show productions . Everyone hang in there.
WHY the f*ck are they touring without him?! He IS Fleetwood Mac, no disrespect to Stevie... but her voice faded decades ago - this man still has it (and more).
Man. I agree. I just close my eyes and picture the band behind HIM and it is Fleetwood Mac. Not the other way around. Like all Stevie Nicks has to do is hum a little and harmonize on any of these songs and bam. Fleetwood Mac. Such a sham they tour without him.
He's a genius and all that, but he sounds a lot better with her. Also if you think Stevie hasn't got much of a voice, I'm not sure what your listening too tbh. Voices can wear over time and with constant usage - happens to opera singers all the time.
lori landahl, my dad has said since before I can remember that he preferred Fleetwood Mac before the asshole and his girlfriend joined the band. Hahahaha! My dad was a hipster before there were hipsters. 🧔🏻🤷♀️😆😆😆 Personally, I effing love what Buckingham and Nix brought to the table. My favorite songs are by him.
@@BigRedShadevil I don't understand why Christine McVie is never mentioned. Unique voice and talent. I agree. Lindsey is incredible. I don't think he'll be gone for long.
Had it not been for Peter Green John Mcvie ( mac) and Mick Fleetwood we would have never heard of Fleetwood Mac... they were a blues band formed in 67’ and were a lot Better than the pop Fleetwood Mac jus saying. Lindsay is a great player these two songs are amazing and the reason I listen to him but if we’re talking about the band Fleetwood Mac they were a lot better ( in my opinion) when they were a blues band. Want to hear good guitar playing listen to “ I need your love so bad” by Fleetwood Mac with Peter green on guitar, he was the only guitar player to give BB King goosebumps, and that was said by BB King, which says something about Peter greens playing.
Love you love you love you! Will always love you! The acoustic is the most amazing I’ve ever heard! The voice! The emotion! Long live Lindsay! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😃😃😃😃😃😃😃♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
most guitarist say they get blisters when they use their fingers constantly to play guitar. Lindsey dont have that problem!!!! wow!!! i love this, love seeing him live. Hes doing three or four different things w/that guitar & singing...one man band!!! i will always love this guy!!!!
It keeps being taken off youtube, that is probably why there are not many views and comments, this is the 3rd time I've had to add it to my favourites!
Say what you will for Buckingham's penchant for roughing up chics and underlings, but I'll be damned if he wasn't a musical genius and one of the most uniquely talented guitarists ever. Greatness has its costs I suppose.
@@tinakelly258 Nobody drives anybody to roughing someone else up especially in this circumstance lol. It's one thing to be unfaithful its another to be unfaithful and to take out your anger on someone YOU are having sex with of your own free will because you're mad at your s/o lmao. Separate the art from the music my man. Lindsey is a great musician but he is in no way a pillar of virtue. You don't need to defend his wrongdoings.
