For my Presets visit: johnnathancordy.gumroad.com/ Here's the main use I've been interested in the Line 6 DL4 - offloading Delay and Reverb from the HX Stomp, and gaining an additional opportunity for a looper. Of course, we could do this with an HX Effects, or another Stomp, or with another brand to avoid redundancy, but here's some experimentation!

Nah bro, the hands on of it win for quick stage setup. I have tons of time where we aren't even getting time to soundcheck before a show. I'm getting it to compliment my strymon compadre/iridium setup.

@@MaTTheWish just got a specular Tempus yesterday and it’s awesome for those far out tones. The “normal reverbs” (I.e. Room, Spring, Hall) aren’t the greatest but again I didn’t buy it for those. I also have a DL4 MKII coming tomorrow. I mainly bought it for the looper because not a lot of others can do what it does but seeing all the new delays and reverbs they added to it was really intriguing to me. I think both of them have their place on my board along with my timeline. I’d say fuck it and go for both because they are unique in their own ways, plus more delays and reverbs never hurt anyone accept your wallet 🤣

There is just something about how the DL4 creates delays. I know that many of those legacy delays are in the Helix products. But a lot of times it's the overall processing the signal goes thru and the end result that makes the difference. Excellent!

Isn't it just like five watt world to point out how much attention one is getting. Well, I just want to state for the record that John is not in this for the numbers, but for the spirituality!!! Will he invest in lighting? NO WAY! Will he spruce up his joint for a better shot? ARE YOU KIDDING!!! Is he wearing his own merch? OUR GUY IS NO SELL OUT!!! Slick poster advertising his channel in the background? NOT ON YOUR LIFE!!! From the depths of his mancave, sometimes with face in shot and sometimes with other wildlife in the background, wearing assorted baseball caps and two shirt combinations, he will peer from the shadows to present a batch of holy tech to demonstrate the secret tweeks only for the anointed. He only wants genuine followers and not just people who follow the crowd or the me too folks. Line 6 had the black edition for $200 on their website. My local GC was blowing out the hx one for $200. Gas hurts in such a good way.

Question: How do you configure this to do dotted eighth delay?

Think you can use the reverb only. You'd turn the delay right down/off within the duel sound then just store it as the preset. I think..

Yep but the Reverb wouldn't spillover? Another option could be, you could use the expression pedal to morph between two settings - toe down with the Delay mix at the desired level, and heel down with Delay mix at 0?

How would you rate DL4 mkII + something like an Ampero Stomp 2 vs stacking options for delays and verbs in the Helix LT, etc, John? Especially for big, ambient tones.

@@johnnathancordy Would be interested to hear the sounds you could get out of it if you got your hands on one. Very intuitive with touch screen and pretty range of amps and effects on board. Big step up from the first Ampero, which I see you’ve made a video on previously.

John, by your weary looks at times, I would suggest you may be drinking too much coffee and not getting enough sleep. Which leads me to ask, does your lead playing owe a great deal to entering a dream state? Is exhaustion your peyote?

Honestly reckon I’d rather an HXFX paired, the vintage allure, all the rest, the mkii covers the lot, I’d still rather the RE202 to scratch the vintage look and feel. The plethora X5 totally cool with the stomp for offloading DSP and midi control.

Do I hear you say you have the looper always set on the tap tempo button? I’m trying to find a way to loop using the delays and reverbs included. I own the unit
