Sorry for the thumbnail guys, but I had to make the joke haha
The beast is back! If you are one of the ancient subscribers back from my very first bunch of uploads you will know this, and by the way, thanks for the support if that is the case!
I wanted to show you my old patches and if this can still be playable in 2024 and I can say that I am pretty satisfied with the results I am getting, it is showing its age but at least now I am finally 100% ready to start playing live with my Incubus tribute band.
Hopefully in a couple of months that will start happening, I will be sure to keep you updated on that so keep your eyes peeled!

Excellent upload! Last week I purchased: LINE 6 - SPIDER VALVE MK II BOGNER 100 HD, into a old Line 6 Flextone 4x12 Slant Cab, model year 2000. It's a total tone machine! That said, I also have Line 6 Vetta ll HD, Line 6 HD147 300 HD and Line 6 Duoverb 100 HD. Ya, I dig all their classic era flagship heads, they just have sounds I haven't found on any other amp heads.

@@BernardoB hope you like it! I was trying to get the lead tone from that polyphia song Crush...well without spending thousands of dollars on an axe fx lol, but it's fun to rip on and it's got enough clarity for big chords. Also I'm running seymour duncan Pegasus and Sentient if that matters

I’ve had some trouble with this amp. It seems sensitive and tends to break down. When it works it’s absolutely amazing! With the optional pedal this is a killer amp for gigs because it’s loud as hell, has many different sounds (country clean to balls out metal grind), all the effects built in, and it just sounds good. I remember picking this thing up (from the repair shop of course lol) in my local music store surrounded by gear snobs. People saw the Line 6 logo and were wondering why the hell would someone repair a Line 6 amp? Can’t you just buy a new one for like 10 bucks?!?! I plugged it in and people’s jaws dropped (not kidding). 3 people asked me what the heck was going on here? I’ve never heard a line 6 amp sound like that before! What is this thing? It’s a damn good amp. And they are very cheap on the used market.

I definately agree with all that you said, I had to change a valve of mine once and the tech that I went to was really snobby about it, but I really like the tones I get from it, especially after some thorough tinkering around with it! The master volume is really sensitive haha but from my research online it's all to do with the volume for each individual channel, the thing is that you need them to be loud individually or else you get a "clicking" sound when changing patches. This amp is not perfect but it is really a great option, especially for how much they go nowadays

I'm playing "shred punk" ala "A Wilhelm scream" and the amp is able to get it done. The soul of this amp in particular are the speakers, if you use it with cheap speakers it sounds like crap, but it you use it with Good speakers like v30 the amp sounds legit.

⁠@@ciscobrianothe Spider Valve is an all-tube amp with digital modeling available. The Pod is one of the first digital dumpster fires before they got decent.

I run various tube preamps into the loop return so it's only going into the Bogner tube power section and into the vintage 30.Sounds great with Peavey Tube-Fex,2101,MP-1,MP-2,Rocktron Piranha,and Rolls MP-45.The AXE-FX 2 sounds good as well.

That is one of the possibility that this offers that I am yet to try! Might do it one day with my Peavey Piranha 6505!

@@BernardoB If you go into the loop return it's basically the same as running into a Bogner 2X6L6 power amp and a 1X12 cab with a Celestion Vintage 30.The built in Spider preamp is a good backup or ok for band practice.I have 2 of them so I can set it up in stereo.

I just bought a Spider Valve 212 to use with my Axe 3, and I'm fucking pumped. 40 watts tube power, 2 V30's... for less than a BOSS KATANA....!!!!!?

Great stuff. I use this amp at home but i have a power soaker which really brought it to life... Without it I need to dial down the output so much there is not much life left in the tubes.

Yes, this amp works the best when cranking those valves for sure! Such a shame that I cannot crank it in an apartment 😂

@@Ivuspp it depends of what you think "usable" means, and if you live in an apartment or not tbh. I remember using it back home at low volumes and it was definitely sounding cool, but it sounds so much better once you start turning the volume knob a little bit. Nowadays there are options with volume attenuation that I would prefer for sure, unless you are getting a great deal on one of these

I have the mk11 hd100 version of this amp and it has some of the best tones. I'm getting the same one have this weekend for 100 bucks

I wish I would have bought the 112 version to be honest, the only thing I can point out that this amp does not have is a ring modulator for a specific song and then it's the weight factor which would be helped by one fewer speaker lol

I have the same issue with the knob on my MkII. I found that (at least in my case) if I pull off the plastic knob, I could perform all functions (including press to select) with the metal stem.

If you are going direct and getting "fuzzy" distortion you just need to turn on the speaker emulator (which will cut the super highs like a real speaker cab would)

I do have an idea mate… You could remove the head from the amp and make a small head type housing for it? You will have all the features for DI out plus you can use it with a cab! Just a thought mate 🤙🎸

I just bought the head used and had to clean the pots and might mode it, I combined it with the peavey triple xxx cab and it is a beast.

I have this amp and have never been able to figure out why the amp squeals unbelievably loud when I switch channels. I have to turn both volume knobs down all the way, and then slowly turn them up master before channel. If I leave them turned up and turn the amp off, the thing will squeal insanely loud the next time I turn it on. Any ideas?

It's because your channel volumes are too low, this amp does not like to have individual channel volumes too low, I too had that issue until I started saving my presets with the channel volume at 80% or upwards... It is a pain for playing at home and wanting to change presets becuase then you have to micro adjust the master volume as well but for playing live it stops being an issue so much, but I feel your pain

@@BernardoB @Bernardo B Oh, right on. Thanks for the help. It seems like everywhere I ask no one seems to have the same problem. I guess the big issue many have had with the 1st generation Spider Valve 112's is with the heat sink needing re-applied or the sound cuts out

Have u tried a Marshall code?Superlight and amazing tones.Line 6 is great but a 50 watt Marshall code is also a great option

This a different animal tho. This is powered by tubes with a digital pre amp and effects. It’s sounds like an all tube beast! This is the first amp I know of that married valves and digital together and pulled it off. The code doesn’t hold a candle to this thing. I’ve played them both.

Hi .period, thanks for your comment! Yes, it is! It's a hybrid amp so you have the tube part in the power amp but then the preamp is digital which makes it want to be "the best of both worlds" :)

@@ciscobriano if you want affordable I would say get a boss katana, serious bang for buck. I know it's not tube but they seriously sound great and with the new v2 out you can get the earlier one for dirt cheap I'm sure!

@@zakklee2556 well, of course that is the case, especially since this amp doesn't have any type of IR simulation or something like that, you only get the stock line out if that's what you're using

@@zakklee2556 it does, but you only get that, there is no way to change the "rudimentary IR", but it was great for 10 years ago! Nowadays there are much better options, but it can still do the job if you fiddle with it enough
