I'm building a vintage plane and would like to know what you recommend to slide the roughly 60 pound canopy forward/aft 30 inches in about 2.5 seconds for each direction... I'm thinking the belt drive system may be my best option? Power would be 12v - am I being unrealistic ? Thanks
i have some doubt in linear moving system for example my chamber weight is 60kg its resting on the guide rail rail arrangement it has four supports i have move this chamber linear so i have plan to use cylinder for actuation here i have the doubt what is cylinder force i need for moving my chamber linear?if u have time please explain
Parker's XFC electric cylinders can handle 12 tons of continuous force, though the cost would be greater than a comparable hydraulic system. The difference is that the XFC has much more control than a hydraulic system in terms of positioning and force control. bit.ly/2lHGX08
Hey, what would I need in order to be able to control force, so let's say it's some kind of actuator that can pull max force of 100lbs but if I set it half way then I can still pull the full range of actuator range but it would be 50 lbs, quarter setting 25lbs, ect.??? So like a shock absorber but with on the fly resistance control?
I would think some type of simple electric driven belt mechanism would be the simplest solution, with the rails mounted on either side of the van. It might need to move slow, since you will only have 12V at your disposal for the electric power. Good luck!

@@pinindumihiranga7738 you could also change the gears inside I have an actuator with i believe a 264 to 1 gear ratio I switch out the gears for 2 gt2 gears 20 teeth each for a one to one ratio. Granted it only lifts around 10lbs compared to the original 22 but it moves 9in per second now. Before was 4.5 mm a second
