i believe you need to find the inverse of ATA for this to work, which is why using this algorithm is usually somewhat impractical if you go beyond 2x2 matrices

I disagree to this, you did not look for the inverse of matrix matrix A transpose the formula should be (At A)-1. At B

So when/why would we solve the eq this way instead of just using row operations from the get-go? Is it just another method to achieve the end result, or does it have differences in application and usefulness?
