Let's do a fun little dissection of this untranslatable word. "毕生知己" literally means: 毕 Whole/Entire. 生 Life. 知 Knows/Understands. 己 Me. Pretty clear right? Although I'm not a professional translator, I think the closest English word to convey the meaning of "知己" is actually Soulmate, rather than Confidant. And as a Mandarin-speaker myself, I would consider 知己 to mean Soulmate + Confidant + Best Friend Forever etc. It's just this really treasured relationship which could be either platonic or romantic. Certainly very rare to find in real life. If someone ever calls me his/her 知己, omg I would literally CRY happy tears XD

I luv it when kpop spills over into the other Asian culture I consume that isn’t korean. Like it’s fun seeing kpop references in Thai BLs and of course Wang Yibo is one example of the crossover between Korean stuff and Chinese stuff, but like also fans. We luv the same things. Yay
Only 2 out of a whopping 50 episodes in so far. While I’m still sane, the blood and magic effects are super cool, and the drama! They really make use of their Dutch angles, and sometimes the scene is so tense it’s borderline hilarious. Thank god each new character is introduced with a little subtitle for their name, there’s no way i’d be able to keep up just from the dialogue. And now the protagonists have stumbled across each other’s fated paths! I’d use their names but I’m honestly not sure which they use, I swear the guy in white was called Lan Zhan in the beginning, but now he’s Hanguang-Jun (?) I’ll be back when I’m drowning in the feels.
