@@denniskwarteng5858 No, it doesn't. To be honest I was exaggerating for comedic effect, but there's some truth to it. It's more about virtuosic playing than the players themselves. It can be frustrating to realize you're not as good as you thought you were even with a lot of practice. Some people are satisfied after they reach a certain point. But not me. I'm competitive and extremely perfectionist, and making mistakes or not being able to do something I want to do really drives me up a wall. Not just in music. The same applies to other aspects of my life. But that's just me.

@@denniskwarteng5858 When I come across videos of the sort I just watch them in disbelief and admire their technical ability of the players. But unless I'm especially depressed at the time it inspires me to keep practicing. I know from experience that practice and patience is pretty much all you need to improve over time. And in the case of music, a metronome, too. But then again some days you can't do anything right and it's easy to get impatient and frustrated. I know that from experience, too.

@@abi1 Wanting to be able to play something very difficult doesn't mean you aren't doing it out of passion. You can listen to someone else play but it's not the same feeling as playing it yourself. It's like watching someone else having fun while you are unable to join in because you're busy. And by this analogy I don't mean to say that I don't enjoy listening to music. My point is that listening and performing are very different ways of experiencing music. I want to be able to play hard things because they are fun. Strumming the same two or three chords eventually gets old so you want to reach the next level. And so you start practicing and slowly get better. But eventually you hit a wall, and no matter what you do you can't get past it. Meanwhile, the songs or pieces you want to play are still on the other side of the wall. Would you enjoy playing an instrument if you couldn't play what you wanted? Wouldn't you feel frustration and lose your motivation and self-esteem?
